      The key is to bake chalk for 6-12 hours and throw water on it, the minute after it comes out of the oven. A chemical reaction occurs instantly. Imagine cave men using Chalk boulders to make a fire and it rains. That is how it began. The next day they burnt their hand on the rock, yet the fire was very cold.
      This is called Active Lime now, or Lie. This technology is still used today. Now we mix fine sand and gravel with it to make concrete. Ground up Clay with Lime, is the and more scientific methods of production to make Portland, the glue that binds Concrete and cements, Not much has changed from thousands of years ago. In this video, he is using the Binder, active lime and than missing in sand, no clay. Clay is the key to good product.
      Soap is made from Active Lime and it can be used as medicine too.
      Very interesting video and he certainly is experienced. You can tell. They still employ this technique in many places. As a child, I watch children crushing rocks to make gravel with larger rock to build roads in India. That was in the 80ties. The Romans were great road builders used this technique that you are watching.

      right, if fish swim like that near the surface opening and closing their mouth they swallow air to compensate the lack of oxygen in the water

    • @spydergs07
      @spydergs07 6 років тому +21

      They would actually have enough oxygen in that size pond for a few days, but with the lily pads there and rain it would keep the oxygen levels fine for a few small fish. I wouldn't over load the pond but if kept 10-12 fish in there they would be fine.
      Lily pads are great for turning Carbon Dioxide to Oxygen for the fish.

      By that time algae will have grown on the concrete walls and a dirt layer or sand layer will have formed on the bottom. Like any pond eventually a balance will set in and it becomes an own ecosystem. It should be fine.

    When you see your fish gasping for air at the surface of your pond immediate action is required. Your fish are not trying to say hello, they are trying to tell you that they are in survival mode. The reason they are at the surface trying to breathe is due to a lack of dissolved oxygen in the water.

    • @peoplez129
      @peoplez129 6 років тому +54

      Yep, this is a terrible pond. More like a fish torture chamber. It ruins the beauty of something when you know what you're observing is suffering. The water is definitely full of pollutants. Concrete bonds with water, a big part of the makeup of concrete is water, even when it 'dries'. Concrete will release particles into the water. It's literally what bonds concrete together to make concrete. So not fully cured concrete, not flushed out, gets into the water immediately, looking for something to bond to.....and since fish 'breathe' water and live in it, they are exposed to it, which probably means they're in stinging pain the whole time. Fresh concrete can cause third degree burns, most people don't know that. And concrete can take months or years to fully cure.
      On top of that, having to constantly come to the surface for water, is like if you took a person and made them hold their breathe in an oxygenless room, and every time they wanted to breathe, they'd have to get up and grab a tube to take a breath. It'd be exhausting. So they're in stinging pain AND exhausted/stressed from constantly having to go to the surface to breathe. Fish don't exactly sleep....but it's definitely torture to not be able to relax because you have to constantly go to the surface to breathe.
      And of course, there's definitely no food in the water for them to eat. Maybe some plant material, but that'll decay and run out, and if they're lucky, some bugs on the surface. There's nothing to naturally clean/filter the water like live plants, so it'll be a bacteria cesspool. That's basically what this is, it isn't a pond, it's a cesspool.
      I built a pond in my parents front yard as a teenager, dug it out, used a simple tarp as the barrier. It wasn't for fish. It was for looks. Had some lilly pads in it. It looked great. Had a water pump in it with a water fall. We got a bunch of frogs and turtles that showed up and used it as an oasis. No fish, although it was oxygenated enough for fish as long as you regularly fed them.
      To call this a pond really irks me. Taking something that could be serene and beautiful, and just shitting on it. It's what separates the third world from the first world.

    • @caminanterecopilador
      @caminanterecopilador 6 років тому +39

      hey I agree with you on everything you said, its a shame for those fishes (if they are still alive) to be stuck on shit because of human action,
      but the separation between third and first world that you concieve is such a classist and arriviste position.
      the guy ruined the pond by introducing fishes.
      you ruined your critical capacity masking behind a very occidental way of judging.

      Apparently those fish can breathe air, at 11:33 you can see a montage of the fish all struggling to breathe in the oxygenless water. They will probably die, and to the asshole who responded before me that was likely part of a river and had a huge number of plants in the water oxygenating it. duah, did you not see that? thats why the fish were hanging out in the thick grass you ass. keep it real shiro.

      I find that is not enough plants for a pond of that size. The fishes are clearly looking for oxygen. The project is fantastic but not perfect on a self sustainable level such as a river or lake

  • @IloveJellow
    @IloveJellow 6 років тому +63

    to the people saying the fish have no oxygen in the water.. Its a normal behavior when you catch fish from the wild and put them into a new area.. They are experiencing elevated heart rates which is causing them to suck in more air they will be fine once they calm down. This isn't the same as with an aquarium but when you first put new fish into a new area they will tend to rush to the top of your fish bowel.. The difference is how long they stay up there towards the end of the video no fish were seen breaking the water surface.

    Мужик конечно крутой, трудолюбивый, и вкус у него есть, и время для самореализации ( хотя скорее всего это его работа, а не просто образ жизни). И комары ему не мешают, и вообще "лето длинное" 😁. Но когда он в стоячую грязную воду начал запускать рыб семейства цихлиды, на что он надеялся? что они там кайфовать будут? Если кто не знает, то заглатывание рыбами атмосферного воздуха ртом - признак недостатка кислорода.
    P.S. Эээх, его бы к нам в чернозёмы ковыряться отправить - воды плеснул и ты уже по колено в грязи, дорожку из камней выложил, а через год камни уже откапывать надо из земли.

    I see a lot people are asking why he would build this?
    A fish pond, or fishpond, is a controlled pond, artificial lake, or reservoir that is stocked with fish and is used in aquaculture for fish farming, or can be used for recreational fishing or for ornamental purposes. In the medieval European era it was typical for monasteries and castles (small, partly self-sufficient communities) to have a fish pond.
    If I had to guess, this pond will provide a source of food and income from the sale of fish for small farmers and can also supply irrigation needs and water for livestock.

      well i can agree that the size of the pond is a bit smaller but i have seen this method working for most ponds that i have seen by the way that amount of lily aint gonna harm the ecosystem of the pond and these type of fishes require very less oxygen compared to other fresh water fishes. These fishes are adapted to muddy water which you call trash water, well if you look at the video one more time it is the same water which he used in the pond and where the fishes came from

      Provavelmente ele não deve gravar no Brasil pois os títulos dos vídeos, descrições e etc são todas em inglês

      Ai não sou perito sabe mano.
      Mas pela fauna e flora é bem favorável que seja no Brasil, arrisco dizer que ele é manauara ou acreano.
      Acredito que seja tudo escrito em inglês para poder atingir um número maior de pessoas, sendo que é a inglês atende a uma galera de vários países que dominem mais ou menos o idioma.
      Mas de qualquer forma vamos esperar mais tempo, talvez um dia ele se pronuncie e responda tds as perguntas.rsrs
