Been debating whether to get this or not. I've been building up my vintage collection and could fit in but i feel like they're a lot shiner or brighter than the vintage ones, i prefer the more muted colors
A cool set, I'll still debate on this one but only time will tell.
Agreed I too think that Duke is too bright. Cobra Commander I will give it a pass because he's Cobra Commander 😆
In the 1987 movie intro, Duke had the harness on and the Grand Slam's jetpack, and he had the bazooka in the beginning, when he shot down Major Blood.👍🏽

@@ratface44 NP. Your review really helped. I've been debating getting him but $40 seemed like a lot for two o-rings. The jetpack and flag help. I also like the cartoon colors. I'd rather get these than those Happy Meal toys with no articulation. Shame too. A lot of them look good but they're just too pricey to want to collect a bunch.

If you have watched any of the Sunbow cartoons you will see why these figures look the way they do. In reality they finally fixed all the mistakes from the 1980's counterparts. Remember they animated the toys they wanted to sell. 1. Kid watches new cartoon. 2. Kid goes to the store to buy what he recognizes from the cartoons.
That's not what happened here. They spend millions making a series of cartoons then someone else says, I think a real soldier should look like this sooooo I'll make it this color. Right hand doesn't talk to the left hand? what a colossal mistake.
@@2000sonydude What do you mean they fixed the mistakes from the 80s counterparts? The show was supposed to look like the toys (which came first) but it was the Japanese animators that screwed with the colouring for the sake of easier animation or stylistic preference. :P

I don't know why nobody seems to remember the cartoon. Cobra Commander and Duke, finally look how they should have looked. They fixed all the mistakes done on the originals Gijoes. How can you miss the white stripe?, the red stripe on duke. All the colors are finally fixed. Go back to just watch the 1985 intro and you will noticed where the rifle comes from on CC. I finally sold my original Cobra Commander since this is what should have looked from the very beginning. Kudos to Hasbro for fixing it after 40 years???? when all your customers are full grown adults, with families and other priorities.
Oh wait, Hasbro also tried to kill, turn into a snake and get rid of their most iconic figures in 1987 with Gijoe The Movie. Nice move, kill the character who is your money maker. Who at Hasbro was in charge of that? I would really like to know.
It's like saying let's kill off Lighting McQueen since he is already been in production for 2 years??? Or IronMan since we want to introduced new characters. Any thoughts?
With the original vintage Joe's. Cobra Commander was created before the cartoon. And for Hasbro killing off beloved characters off. Corporate Hasbro doesn't care about our feelings. They only care about making money. But I do appreciate the cartoon details they put into These figures. Thanks for watching and commenting 😊👍

@@JomasterTheSecond I put a $ sign that means US Dollar. I don't think other Countries use $ if they do I never knew that. I always thought that was a USD sign atleast that's what they taught us in Schools here in America in the 80s and 90s.
@@JomasterTheSecond $51.50 was the total after taxes and shipping to my door. I also just paid that last week for the Trooper oring 2 pack as well from hasbro pulse. Even though it was a NIGHTMARE dealing with Hasbro Pulse on the recent order that I still haven't received.. I will NEVER order again from hasbro after the most recent nightmare.
