    Kyla, your videos are among the most insightful and well though out available. I suspect that videos like this will be available from one's personal AI in the future and if you choose to have thoughtful, accurate and insightful that is what you will get. I do wonder how many people at that point will choose mis-information, infotainment and the ugliness which is so common and widespread. At least at that point, people won't be able to ignore that they are intentionally choosing misinformation.

    Every anti-tariff arguments seem to ignore the tariffs on Japanese cars in the 80s
    What happened? Japanese makers opened factories in America to avoid tariffs, which created jobs.
    Free trade proponents like Kyla know this, but they don’t see Americans jobs as a good in themselves.
    Ppl who want their neighbors to succeed want those neighbors to have good jobs.
    Free trade proponents see no difference from a slave wage job in China or a job in America.
    I think our gov should care more about American jobs than corporations making an extra 20% profit
    Hope Kyla starts talking to more working ppl and unions, instead of just free trade weirdos.

    Hi Kyla, I really enjoy your content but I have a major question on this one. You say that no economist thinks tariffs are a good a idea but a quick (and uninformed) google search tells me that most if not all major countries impose tariffs of one kind or another. Is this a prisoner's dilemma situation where being the only one who doesn't impose tariffs makes you an economic loser but we would be better without them overall or is that statement an over simplification? I know it might be complex but you are my most trusted source on the economy in general and i am hoping you could provide a bit of clarification!

    Very well produced video, Kyla! Love the breakdown. All of this reminds me of what you mentioned in a previous video - Attention is prayer, and people are frustrated cause they (pay attention) pray to a lifeless god (the algorithm). The people who can influence the algorithm, on the other hand, control the narrative and thereby benefit off of it.

    10:00 Microsoft alone is investing 80 billion dollars a year in OpenAI.
    What's insane is that the training speed of AI models scales linearly with the amount of NVIDIA GPUs.
    So double the amount of GPUs, halve the amount of training time.

    • @KylaScanlon
      @KylaScanlon  2 дні тому

      They are investing $80b w azure and deepseek proves we dont need a plethora of gpus

    • @MagicBoterham
      @MagicBoterham День тому

      @@KylaScanlon It took deepseek 2 months to train the model on $5.5 million of hardware that they had "lying around". Furthermore, they say they own 50.000 NVIDIA gpus they cannot talk about because of export controls.
      I have a relatively new GPU and I can run the deepseek v3 model with 32 billion parameters. I asked the model for a program in C++, it returns some python code that does not do what I asked.
      The full 600 billion parameter model requires 200+ GB RAM to run, i.e., you need a gpu server cluster, which is what one is using through azure and others when querying ChatGPT and the like.
      Former Microsoft Engineer Dave Plummer who, amongst other things, created Task Manager, tested a 405 billion parameter model, (open sourced, by Meta last year) in a video with the title "Run Local LLMs on Hardware from $50 to $50,000 - We Test and Compare!". He ran it on a $50,000 machine that he rented from Dell and it took 30 minutes to spit out the answer to one query.
      I don't think most people have GPU server clusters in their homes, unless they are cryptominers like the people at the communist hedge fund (lol) deepseek.

The top buyers are correct in seeing very real, profitable value in the influence attached to being a major shareholder. Musk's ROI on his $.25B investment bodes well for their own prospects, and it was understood that this is the real value being traded.
