Another neat little Easter egg: if you pay really close attention to the sounds in the opening scene, and the scene where Lewis goes back in time to see his mom, you'd realize that they actually sync up perfectly, in that Lewis was the noise that spooks his mom, as well as the one who knocked on the door in the beginning, after he'd already done everything.
And I like how it isn't even the bootstrap paradox (The one where an object has no origin, meaning it was never created, it was found in the present, sent back in time, found *again* in the present, sent back in time, yada yada) Because for a paradox to be a paradox, it literally could *never* happen, but a simple knock on the door before running off could've happened the first time through like you expected when first watching the movie. There is this one game where you could technically beat it within 30 minutes or so from sheer luck, so the act of gathering information across the game's locations using a timeloop to save actual "spent" time in the universe (Couple hours for you, 30 minutes for everything else in the universe) isn't a paradox. Or another game where you get both a vision of the future and context clues during the day to show you "Hey, you should watch out for extreme temperatures tonight", the context clues make it possible that you could've been prepared even without the vision. Then again, in retrospect I guess it *is* the definition of a bootstrap paradox for when some information gets caught in a cycle of seemingly having no origin.
@@cjnewman7550 I think I am going to put them past the "Read More" area of my comment, since the reason why I was being vague about the games is because they are usually one of the biggest "plot twists" of them. I'd say this is far down enough. The first game is "Outer Wilds", you play as a member of an alien species. It's your first day as an astronaut, and you must travel around a dangerous solar system as you figure out the stories of those who came before you, using a time loop to your advantage. The second game is "Don't Escape 4" where your character gets nightmares related to events in the future which you must prepare for by exploring around the world, gathering supplies, and reinforcing your hideout, all the while keeping track of your time as nearly all actions use up time.
Tom Selleck is the voice actor for "Cornelius" they just showed his true form in the picture. The writer of this movie said that he was adopted and when he was young he couldn't wait until he turned eighteen so that he could find his birth mother. But once he was older and had gone to college and met new people, he realized that he had forgotten to look for her once he was eighteen. He realized that he had "Kept moving forward" and for him, it wasn't as important anymore because he loved the life that he has now. An epic story to tell and I cry all the time when watching it because I have several adopted children in my family (cousins) and we are such a great family that nobody looks back anymore, they haven't done it in decades. Great reaction.
“They all hated me…” 😂 This is a great and underrated movie. The song at the end hits hard. Rob Thomas said that he wrote it about him and his wife’s first dog, Tyler, who passed away.
Lol I remember as a kid being so upset that we never got to see his mom due to curiosity but since I’m older now I understand why and the whole message the movie was showing us. Definitely an underrated film from disney Honestly I wouldn’t know what I’d do if my kid from the future who I didn’t know was my kid was able to come back into time and we bump each other along with a glimpse at the future 💀
Honestly same. Back then I just needed to know everything and always got mad when a movie planted an idea in my head but then didn't expand on it. But by that point Lewis had pretty much already found his family. His mom knew where he was and if they were meant to find each other again it would have happened and him not choosing to interrupt the events of the past was him coming to peace with that.
About the "I'm always right." quote: Before Lewis goes back in time, Franny tells Wilbur she knows Kung fu. The dinner scene in the future shows she was right.
That Little Wonders song makes me cry instantly anytime I hear it and idk if that song is just laced with something or if it’s linked to the nostalgia of the movie.
Interesting how you sang Year 300, as Jonas Brothers sang a song to promote this movie (Kids of the Future), which played a lot during Disney Channel breaks, and it's what made me want to watch the movie and become a fan of the band. Brings a lot of good memories since I still love both things ❤🥲 An interesting fact is that Cornelius "looking like Tom Selleck" was a joke due to Tom being the voice actor for Lewis' adult version. I firmly believe this movie also influenced me when it comes to my views about adoption. It's just... an amazing thing, huh? How two or more people's lives can change once you choose to become a family. It's a type of love that I hope I can experience someday. Great reaction as usual! I'm always excited about this movie, and the ending always makes me cry.
@@theekatspajamas probably! Those dvds had plenty of extra content and the promo singles + its music videos were usually featured. I remember loving Zero to Hero from one of those Robots DVD extras. Ahh, it was fun
There are certain clues hidden in the movie which allow us to draw the conclusion that Goob in the best timeline grows up to be the founder of Playtime Planet, the unicorn-themed restaurant where Bowler Hat Guy and Doris meet to hatch their respective evil plans. This means that Goob is enjoying a milkshake in the restaurant that alternate future Goob founded, just like how a week later Lewis would be eating spaghetti in the house if his alternate future self.
I've been living your mirror life because I only just now found out that Jonas Brothers did a version. I've only ever heard the original Busted version
Anyone else realize that Future Lewis most likely woke up in that cold sweat to build the time machines because of the events that happened in this movie? Too farfetched, you say? Consider: He remembered what he'd done to Goob, and was planning on going back in time to fix it, because he felt guilty. Only Goob beat him to it.
I only watched this film for the first time the other month, and I was genuinely shook at the Goob reveal, it made me cackle 🤣🤣the pettiness of it all!
This was one of my favorite movies as a kid, and it definitely still holds up. The immediate “he’ll be adopted by the Robinsons” had me like: “well yes” eventually anyway 😂❤
I'm so glad you guys watched this one! It's so underrated but so good too. I've never seen a film strike such a balance between feeling like a fever dream for 95% of it, only to hit you with feels and a major life lesson in the end lmao. The whole time travel concept also makes this one never a bore to rewatch too haha
I got two things out of that movie after my car accident in 2008. I have a " keep moving forward" tattoo on my bad ankle I broke in the crash. And the Little Wonders song at the end was my therapy song that helped me heal emotionally. 💙💙💙💙💙💙
