The Philippines is starting to develop its huge oil and gas fields in the southern and central Philippines.
Billions of dollars in investments are currently being poured into several areas in Mindanao and the Visayas Islands.
Oil and gas fields as well as related refinaries and LNG liquification plants usually take about 4years from start of development before they go on line.
By 2026-27, the Philippines which is presently importing most of its oil requirements, will start producing oil and gas that it can use to satisfy domestic demands.
The cost of electricity in the Country which is now one of th highest in Asia and the world will be drastically reduced, thereby spurring the economy to growth.
Moreover, it will also be exporting significant volumes of oil and gas- bringing into the economy enormous amount of dollars.
The added good news for the Philippines is that it has more potential gas and oil deposits in and around its main island Luzon which is the northern part of the Country.
How about deuterium and liguasan marsh?

As for deuterium, that is not yet in the immediate future due to technological constraints at the moment.

Philippines is not the second richest in ASEAN. It has a very long way to catch up with Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia and Thailand. So Philippines can first aim for number 4 position in GDP per capita. This is more realistic.

if the Philippines' GDP grows more than 7.3% this year, it will be record breaking since the last time it grew higher than that was in 1973 and 1976 where the GDP grew 8.9 and 8.8 respectively

We always talk a bout the growth rate and potential possibility to rise up of countries in the region for meaningless comparing and pride , but I care more of GDP per capita or people income in each country. Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei may have smaller GDP than other countries such as Indonesia, The Philippines, Thailand but their GDP per capita are all over than 10kUSD which is consider the level of high income.

8.3% is an indication that Phi has a strong economic performance compared to its neighbors...
Still need more time to prove that it's not because of low base effect. Don't forget that in 2020 Phil has the steepest contraction in the region. And just gone back to its pre pandemic level now.
While other country like Vietnam, never really shrank, it kept making positive growth even in the peak of pandemic. Indonesia has reached its pre pandemic level since last year.
Philippines ended with 7.6 growth for the year 2022....one of the fastest growing economy in ASEAN.

It’s GDP per capita income that counts and is of utmost importance. Economic wealth of a nation should cascade down enjoyed at grassroot level. Congrats to Philippines et al those notching high GDP growth rate 1Q2022. But really, in reality millions of its disenfranchised citizens are living in tenement poverty and forced to work overseas to earn decent living income. Many Filipinos and Indonesians are working in my country. Ofc the govts are happy money-earned overseas sent back home increasing foreign exchange earnings. I luv Filipinos met working overseas - humble, ever-smiling, warm pple. Some fluent in conversational English work partime as hme cleaner In my condo unit. Over lunch seated together same table (no discrimination) their back stories told quite bleak and sad. Hoping near future with flourishing GDP Filipinos and Indonesians need not have to leave their beloved homeland to seek employment to support their impoverished families - a sincere prayer and wish.
We are a developing country not yet fully developed. It will take us 10 years to see the growth of The Philippines however we have enough reserved to back up our economy just in case it goes down to zero that is why we were able to roll out free vaccination sites when pandemic hits. Also we earn USD from our OFW's, We also export few of our products at the same time we can add more to our reserved since mining is back to operation now. In short whatever may happened we are all backed up by GOLD, USD, and Our own Peso and we have less debt compared to other countries. That is why inflation is not that high here in The Philippines however some few imported products skyrocketed due to USD's inflations but still we remain in balance. Hope our President now can solve the Agricultural issues so we can be dependent to our local products which most countries are already been doing then there is a posibilities that our GDP will grow higher.

For example, Indonesian have private houses but most of them are just low-class,dirty, insecure shelters while Singaporean get luxury, modern and convenient condos.Moreover, people in rich countries as Malay or Singapore or Brunei will definitely receive more livable condition offering from the government such as good health care systems, better education programs and initial welfare for children/elders.... So, larger economy doesn't mean better.

The PH may be great again, despite being an unworthy lower-middle income country. If PH were performed better in the past few years with the absence of corruption, it would've been an upper-middle income country by now, but a series of economic retardation, followed by a big loss in 2020, lost its potential to promote to that higher status.

But this figure will surely change by 2nd qtr 2022. Inflation is crashing our economy plus other factors that triggers the value of peso. Now its 54 pesos to 1 US $.
i thought about that, too, due to some factors like inflation, weakening peso, war in ukraine, etc. and lo and behold, Q2 gdp slowed to 7.4 %. still, not a bad figure.
But despite that, the economy able to kicked few notches. Not bad though, but there's another threat, the conflict between Taiwan and China. It might cause recession if it escalate into war, which i hope not (cross my fingers).

Ví dụ quý 1 2021 Việt Nam tăng 4,7% , quý 1 2022 Việt Nam tiếp tục tăng 5% tức là chúng ta tăng 9,7%.
Còn về Philippines thì quý 1 2021 họ âm 3,9% , quý 1 2022 họ tăng 8,3% tức là chỉ tăng 4,4 %.
Quý 3 2021 Việt Nam mình âm tận 6% do đóng cửa Sài Gòn , ông đợi số liệu quý 3 2022 sẽ tăng khủng khiếp vì trên nền âm năm ngoái , chắc chắn > 10%.
