We were trying a completely new idea this time around and decided to use some LifeSavers Gummy rings to infuse with vodka. I combined the Orange flavored vodka with these tropical fusion blended gummies to make one hell of a creation. The taste is amazing and they got pretty huge over the course of a few days.

We had these the other night at my wife's birthday party and they were so good. The lifesavers gummies have a lot more flavor than a regular gummy bear. Deffinately have to try this recipe out!
Hey that's a pretty good idea. One thing I also do sometimes is skewer a bunch of them and then put out a tray. That way they are grab and go and easy to eat too.
Haha I know I know! It's basically the best alcohol to infuse gummies with in my opinion. It's rather tasteless and odorless and blends well with fruit flavors. I've tried rum and other stuff before and it's a little more overpowering. I may try a light rum next time for additional sweetness.

I typically don't rinse them off before serving but I have heard of some people dumping them on some paper towels or something to dry them a bit. Also some people came up with the suggestion of maybe even tossing them in some sugar! for a sweet crystalized coating.

Yes room temperature away from light in a dark place, i used to do that in high school leave them soaked in for at least 48hours
I would say that maybe 4-5 pieces equal a shot. So around 20-25 gummy rings to get about 5 shots worth.
Yea that would be good. I also saw they make like big gummy spider/tarantulas and gummy brains. Both are in my plans for Halloween Snacks!
Normally these goodies can be dropped in a typical cocktail like a margarita, cosmo, martini, but I recommend you check out my other videos and look for my "True Blood" cocktail videos! We came up with like 5-10 really yummy mixed drinks.
Keep them refrigerated at all times prior to serving. They wont get harder but will retain their original gummy textures. If you leave them out they begin to soften or melt even!
i live in hawaii, and whenever I put these in the fridge or even gummy bears soaked in vodka, they turn the vodka into jello...
The gelatin these are made of is produced from chicken, horse, and pig intestines.

Maraschino cherries work very nicely as well in rum or vodka! They absorb a lot of alcohol relatively fast and the juice adds a nice flavor to the liquor too!

I have not noticed any issue at all with using plastic containers. I've heard someone say this before about vodka interacting with platic but many companies sell their vodka in plastic bottles like Smirnoff, Pinacle etc...
Hrm... doesn't seem to penetrate the gummies as good or just the flavor was not good? I guess it all depends on what flavors you like.

Just a heads up. You should use glass containers when you soak. Non-alcohol safe plastics will leach harmful chemicals into your goodies. They won't kill you, but you don't know how some people might react. Great video.

It's more so slippery than sticky but I've suggested others can use toothpicks, spoons, chopsticks or just get on in there with your hands :)

Have you/could you try powdering them lightly with corn flour or corn starch to stop them from sticking to your fingers?

Haha everyone asks this! Honestly I don't ONLY consume these to try and get drunk. I'll just snack on them while drinking normally and it will get you buzzed a lot quicker ;)
Okay, I don't like the taste of vodka. I've made skittles vodka, but I added sugar and water. It turned out really good. I made a few gummy bears, but I forget how they taste. With Halloween coming up, which do YOU personally prefer? These, Gummy worms, Sour Gummy Worms, Bears. Or maybe even Jolly ranchers? Help! and Thanks!

You should do skittles in vodka it makes the vodka turn into the skittles colors :)
i did this in science class but with just water notin too crazing we were observing osmosis and u need to let them sit for like a day (in water i know)

Looks good man. I'm actually pressed on time and going to be doing this on a thursday and hopefully it'll be ready by sat. Other instructions online said you can do a 24hr one but it doesn't really do anything other than coat the top layer so I'm gonna try your video.

It depends on the type of plastic, but high proof alcohol will break down the plastic and drinking plastic infused alcohol isn't exactly a good thing.
The type of plastic that the rotgut you refer to comes in is pretty resistant to high proof alcohol provided they aren't kept in there for a long period of time.
Try putting some high proof shit in a deer park water bottle for a handful of days and you'll see that it will start to become slightly cloudy from breaking down the plastic.
Might be a little soft/falling apart but i am sure the taste will be great!
when you eat them, can you smell the alcohol?

That is a matter of personal preference. Obviously a more premium vodka has a smoother cleaner taste but I just cant see myself putting down top dollar to pour it over some $0.99 gummie candies :)

No problem! Transfer them into your nicest serving bowl and you can put out individual cups and plastic forks or maybe even Chopsticks or something if you wanted to be creative :)
i have like 4 gummies in a shot glass uncovered in my room.. is that just going to evaporate all of the ethanol and make it un alcoholic?
Is there any way to make these more hard in texture by re-refrigerating them after they obsorb the alcohol ?

If left uncovered the impregnated gummies will lost practically all their alcohol in two hours so keep them in the box untill the very beginning of your party !
