In a way, those moves are harder to get down. The opponent just has so many choices out of the opening. Once you're deeper in a sharp line, the opponent is much more limited.

vidit can work w/ magnus, wesley so, fabi & nepo to promote classical 9LX.
It's sad they never played each other in 9LX whether FIDE or st Louis. Nepo beat Alireza 1 of their 4 classical 9LX games and drew the other 3. Vidit & Alireza drew both of their classical 9LX games. So who knows who among Nepo, Vidit & Alireza is really the best at classical 9LX?
Is Vidit the biggest reason India would want classical 9LX?
Vidit beat Sergey Karjakin to get in the 2019 WFRCC quarter-finals. But then...
Wesley So & Fabi expectedly do better in classical than in rapid for both 9LX & chess. Now, I'm not familiar with Vidit but
      - Wesley So does 30% better.
      - Fabi does 40% better.
      - VIDIT DOES 300% BETTER.
LIKE 50% CLASSICAL SCORE BUT 12.5% RAPID SCORE.
      Vidit in 9LX
      - is the top Indian classical player
      - is the worst rapid player among the top 9 of the 2019 WFRCC.
      - in classical ties for 2nd place w/ Fabi & Nepo behind Wesley So.
When is Tata Steel Classical Chess960 ? It should be a knockout where Vidit is seeded into the quarter-finals. It can be 60min, not 120min.
P.s. In the 2019 WFRCC, wesley so beat magnus in 3x classical in a row!
Question : When was the last time this happened in chess that someone lost 3x classical in a row in the finals of a FIDE or PCA WCC (or finals of knockouts candidates or semi-finals of a knockout WCC) ?
Answer : Vishy Anand beat Alexei Shirov in 2000.

You have to remember 100s of variations to stand a chance to compete with these superGMs. I think these chess players are one of the most hardworking humans on the Earth, 8-10 hours a day on a daily basis where you have to use your brain all the time, no easy man.

@@RAJKUMARSINGH002 I think the memorization part is easy. For example, I can memorize hundreds of digits of pi. I think the hard part of Chess is when you can't memorize your way out of a problem...and have to rely on thinking-outside-the-box...although I am not sure whether those things really happen anymore in Chess since Chess engines are now the best players of Chess and lots of things in Chess use memorization of Chess Engine lines and stuff.

It’s why top level chess is starting to focus more on shorter time controls because with modern engines, chess has become more of a memory game than what chess was in the past. It’s not interesting to see two behemoths just blasting out engine line after engine line. If it were, we’d all watch the chess engine championship.

Edit: I’m not saying Fischer wasn’t a great player in his own right, but the way he single handedly, and suddenly, defeated an army of Russian GMs is undoubtedly an incredible and, at the time, hugely surprising feat. Could also have helped to form his view of chess being largely about memory.

Chess has been like playing memory since the discovery of "opening theory" which was 100s years ago.
Also if you want to deviate from playing memory don't play the best engine lines all the time.

    • @MegamanStarforce2010
      @MegamanStarforce2010 10 місяців тому +2

it kinda is turning into that on the GM level. engine lines are always going to surpass any tactics humans can ever think of, so the strongest engine line prepper will take over. at this point it's just Magnus so far above that he doesn't need engine lines so much

2 whole decades Vishy's record stood - broken only in a variant!

Also you didn't answer the question. Wesley So would be the biggest reason the Philippines would want 9LX. Sergey Karjakin would be the biggest reason pro-Putin part of Russia would want classical 9LX. Magnus for Norway. Nepo for anti-Putin part of Russia. Etc. For India, it's actually not necessarily Vishy Gukesh Arjun Pragg Nihal but actually Vidit!
