Hey Tiff. So glad to see you again. Your postings spoke to me after my TBI in Jan of 2022. I fell on black ice in the work parking lot and was so very grateful that I could identify someone else with these synptoms that I could not shake. Hope to see you again - hang in there.

I am so relieved to find your playlist-thank you for making these videos, I don’t know anybody IRL who’s ever had a TBI and it’s so reassuring to know I’m not alone (though I’m wishing you more and more healing) ❤

All the Dr.s are like that now.
I will encourage you to write a letter stating what she did and how it made you feel. Ask for malpractice investigation.
Also, have you had a MRI and check to see if you have a blood flow issues (vascular neurology)
Sometimes dr.s treat us patients like that because a severe brain injury takes a really long time to heal.
Focus on compensation and not a fix.
    Convergence insufficiency

About 6 months ago my husband and I were in a car crash. It's a miracle we survives and had nothing broken. However I did start showing signs of post concussive syndrome. It has taken this long to find a neurologist that will see me as several have turned me away because they don't take patients that have a brsin injury and or have been in a car crash. I think it is to ensure that they get paid for their work. But it has definitely left me wondering where I am supposed to go instead. Finally found a place out of state and will have an appointment set up soon. The more I research the more I really think I have pcs. My attorney thinks it as well and was the first person to point out what it might be. It has been a hard 6 months and not gonna lie I get very depressed with the thought that I might have symptoms for the rest of my life. It's where I am and it's something I can make room for. It's just really hard on days where people are tslking to me and I just stare at them trying to say anything at all and cannot get the words out. I walk with a cane now because I never know when my legs with threaten to give out on me. I miss being able to drive where I want to. I miss having the freedom to do what I want and when I want because of a migraine stopping me. Thank you for sharing your story as it has brought a lot of validation for me. It also gives me hope that even if I have symptoms for years that I will still be okay.

I am sorry to hear about your accident and the frustrations about doctors. I have definitely been there. People don’t understand brain injuries, especially with symptoms that are “invisible”. The only thing you can do is keep fighting and advocating for yourself, don’t give up. Almost 3.5 years later and I’m still fighting and having to prove myself to insurance, despite my doctors notes on my disability and limitations.
The first 6 months were hard for sure.. not being able to drive for the first 1.5 years was hard. As an independent person, having to ask for help all the time was hard. Having to quit my job which is my passion was a very difficult pill to swallow. Once I got started with therapies and then eventually getting to a rehab that understood brain injuries and concussions, I found a little more hope. I worked my way up to driving more, first just in the neighborhood and then a little more.
If you can do some vestibular physical therapy, vision therapy and speech therapy. Speech will help you to retrain you brain with communication and listening to others.
It’s all about learning how to manage your symptoms and know your limits. It will get better, maybe not 100% but it will get better and you will get a sense of your old life back. I know you will. Just allow your body and brain to heal and Try to limit stress if possible. I wish you the best on your recovery journey. Please feel free to reach out anytime 💚

Have you done vestibular therapy, eye convergence insufficiency therapy, dry needling, chiropractic, and ot. Also, neck pilates.
Binasal tape from a optometrist that specializes in the brain, also ice your head, drink water with ice in it.
Check for damage in your temporal and frontal lobes.
Your symptoms are coming from your temporal lobe.
    Vitamins B1,3,6,12,and 9
    MCT Oil.

hey Tiff! I'm an OT student doing a project on post-concussion syndrome. I stumbled upon your videos attempting to create an occupational profile. It'd be really interesting to hear from you specifically and ask a few questions I have not been able to answer with your detail vlogs!

I fell two weeks after a Covid infection. Did anyone suggest that your concussion was complained by the virus? I’m only a couple months post fall and I’m beyond frustrated with myself. That I can’t just seem to get better! Thank you for the reality check.

I’m sorry you’re feeling frustrated.. I definitely know the feeling. To answer your question.. yes covid definitely complicated things. Since I had covid and brain injury at the same time, it made it harder to know which symptoms were coming which issue. There is a lot of overlap with long term covid effects and with TBI. My neurologist said they see people in the clinic that suffer from long haul covid symptoms similar to that of a TBI (without having a head injury) e.g fatigue, brain fog, cognitive issues etc.
I was naive in the beginning. I was angry and thought I would never be better. I thought the buzzing in my brain would never end. I thought I would be a couch potato forever. I learned to stop feeling sorry for myself and do some things to try to get me back on track. Things have definitely improved since the beginning but I’d be lying if I didnt say I still have daily symptoms and limitations to what I can do. The recovery process with any TBI is a long one. Take it one day at a time. Learn limitations. Don’t push too hard. Don’t beat yourself up. You will get better maybe not 100%, but it will take time. I wish you the best!

Thanks for sharing your updates Tiff, super helpful to see how you're navigating the bumps in the road. Great move to change doctors to get what you need (and sometimes that means the doctor just isn't experienced enough to meet your needs). Good call!

It has been 2.5 years you should be very concerned about your condition.
For example, one of the things that hindered my recovery was my face was broken.

18 months already since I had the mini stroke/brain injury. Post stroke symptoms persist, especially lack of energy, 24/7 slight tension headache, blurred vision, trouble falling asleep. Doctors don’t seem to be able to help at all. Waiting for miracle so I can stand on my own feet again.

here in Canada, I have yet to see a human being outside a 10 minute meeting. 18 months, no short term, or long term disability coverage, no insurance, nothing. Selling the last of my stuff to maybe have some time on my phone to make another call. Calling is terrible for me due to the tbi.
It is nice you have someone to help you and be your voice and to keep you moving forward. I'm constantly battling rage, anger, depression, confusion, anxiety and loss of emotion and self on the daily since I can't even eat foods that keep the symptoms down. I was in the kitchen, can't go back their for work. tough finding a job I can work at random times of the week and only 2 hour stretches then a break that can take up to 3 days.
