I might take it up this spring when it is warmer out. Great video! I've been looking at my hazy lights and thinking about it for a while, and while I might need to pick up some plastic body tools, I have the rest.
One of the best auto tutorials I've seen, she pays attention to all the nuance and details with good running commentary. I'm glad I didn't just lurch into this job without a bit of research! I particularly loved "Oh, found it wrench, it wasn't mine" as I know I've donated wrenches to the future that way! I'm not a fan of youtube's advertising insertions, but this detailed instruction is well worth working through the skip ad moments to get all the way to the headlight aiming tutorial at the end. Well done.
Quite simply the clearest and easiest automotive instructions I have ever followed. Thankyou from Thailand.
Clear instructions, and I appreciate an additional camera operator rather than using your phone while trying to capture the details!
Excellent tutorial. Watched once. Laid out all the tools, clips and got the lights ready. It took me not much longer than the video run time to complete the job. My apprehension was quickly overcome as each step happened as explained and shown. Thank you.
Thanks for the video. Just replaced my 2010 Honda Fit highlights within 2 hours. Much appreciated.

This is a great video by far from the ones I've watched in preparation to replacing the headlights assembly. But I'm going to be straight up, you guys make it look so easy. Been at it since 6:30pm and it's just about 10pm and still haven't been able to get the number off. Already broke some clips that attache the bumper to the frame in trying to follow aling. Usually I'm not a quitter but tonight I am throwing in the towel and calling it a night.
Excellent instructions. I had old light assembly out and replaced in about two hours. I'm glad I purchased new plastic replacement clips also, speeds the install.
Great tutorial, I just finished replacing the headlights on my wife's 2009 Honda Fit Sport. Procedure exactly as you described. Question, I noticed a lot of oil on the snap clips under the cover as you removed them. Did you ever determine the source of the leakage? Thanks
Nice just ordered looking forward to installing them. Bought a used 2009 Fit Manual tran with 99k on it for $3600 as my winter work beater car 2.5 years ago just before prices skyrocketed. Drove 200+ miles to buy it on the spot. No problems since. As always thanks A1..!!
Awesome instructions - glad I watched before I dove in - picked up some body panel buttons prior to starting, and picked up the front with my floor jack and put it on jackstands with chocks - not required, but made it easier to get at everything. I have a 2010 Fit Sport with fog lights and was able to hang the bumper on the frame at the top so I didn’t have to disconnect the fog lights. It balanced, but probably should have used a bungee or zip tie to support it so it wouldn’t fall and scratch the bumper and strain the fog light wires. Thanks!
Not bad, but I just wanna know why you removed the plastic from the headlamp before you installed it?
Great video...I got lucky reclipping that bumper cover in place after we pulled it loose when backing and turning by my truck. (Argh!) My 2010 Fit has a black, rounded trim strip around the wheel well exterior that continues down along the edge of the bumper cover.
Do you just cut that when removing the bumper cover, or remove the whole strip and replace it as a last step bumper?
Does A1 Auto sell that self-adhesive trim strip?
Nice video however a would add one more quick step check before fastening the new light assemblies in, turn the lights on to make sure the three bulbs all work on them before fastening in.
Excellent instructions. My Fit got 'smeared' when someone veered into my driving lane 8 years ago. Just enough damage to make the headlight shine toward center, rather than straight. Also bent the top plastic anchor, and lately, as the light starts acting up, realized that a lower plastic anchor is fractured too.
Long story short. There seemed not enough appearance damage to warrant the 2800-dollar expense to have the entire front end replaced, but now it's time to address the 'on the brink' light. Is there a way to "simply" replace the damn bulb or do I have to buy a new car?
I'm surprised one doesn't also have to take all 4 doors off, just to replace a headlight, geez louise !!! Maybe I should just get a new motor for my Samurai and forget about all that modern crap. Yikes.
Hi...I'm starting to see some haze or oxidation (or maybe just water stains) and it looks like it's on the underside of the clear plastic lens. Can just the lens be easily removed or do you have to go through all the same steps you did in the video (remove the bumper, etc.). I see some clips that appear to hold the lens in place. Can I just pry the clips up and remove the lens only? I started to try that but didn't want to break something!
Cool video . For me I add LED light in my headlight heaven better
Thanks for the video!!!
That transferred bracket piece you refer to was destroyed in an accident. Where can I buy it?
Excellent instructive video, many thanks for taking the time to make and post.
link for bumper clips?
Great video, got mine installed!🤘
are the new ones already aimed, or is that an extra step?
+Richard John Thanks for watching! The new headlights will be pre-aimed from the factory, but a lot of times it will have to be adjusted when installed. 1aauto.com
