Honda Fit Jazz radio removal and upgrade to Droid tablet screen

- Welcome back to @AutoScholarwithMrB ! Today we have this 2011 Honda Fit we are reconditioning, and the old radio has to go. I wanted to add something really nice to this one, so I found a Droid tablet screen radio on Amazon to put in. I will provide the link below!
Only issue I found is that the antenna adapter that came with the radio is incorrect for this car, so I ordered a different one and spliced it in. Everything works fine after that. The adapter I got will be linked below.
There are no instructions about the operation of the unit so I will not be of much help there. My suggestions are to figure it out as you go as I have.

Just installed my kit and it was a breeze! Took me about 2-3 hours. This video was key! But overall very straightforward! Screen, apps, GPS, phone, microphone, WiFi, everything working! Thank you again!

Thank you so much for your vid, following your instructions I was able to install a carplay tablet to my 2010 Honda Jazz. Fortunately for me, I didn't need to buy any antenna adapter. The one I got from AliExpress fit in fine. It was smooth, took me an 1hr to do.

Unfortunately this one did not have a camera.
The Kunfine radio I bought looks identical except for a Kunfine logo on the front.
It came with 2 separate wiring plugs: one that fit and another for some other car?
The antenna wire on the wiring plug that fit was also the wrong one, but I realized that the antenna wire on the other wiring plug fit perfectly and it was pretty simple to switch them around…

Even the radio is plug and play. Only thing I had to modify is the antenna adapter, which is listed in the Amazon links. You may not have to modify yours, so it’s good to check before you order everything. Thanks for watching!
I own a 09 fit sport looking to add an 11" android. The fit has also gone up in price. Ive owned mine for 7yrs so far. Parts are super easy to repair and inexpensive
Will not last a couple months before it breaks. Chinese toys.

Is this a plug and play? Do I need the yellow and red adapters for the audio for the in car speakers? Or does that one cable for the power have the connection for audio??! Thanks
This is the video that convinces me to upgrade my 2010 stock radio. Question is, my Fit is a manual and looks identical to yours except it's not a "Jazz" model (that I know of). Should probably still work correct? I'm 99% the answer is yes. Great video and thank you again!
Jazz is what they call the fit outside of America, so same car!

@keyframer. I am not sure, I’m sure this is the cheaper version and it still works fine. This is my son’s car and he loves it.

Hey there! I fit my CarPlay unit in my Honda “Jazz”, im in the UK, it’s the same process however I had a issue come up, I can’t find the antenna wire, is it hidden somewhere, im not very sure, everything else works, it’s basically plug and play, thanks for the video!

Hey guys. Can anyone verify that an android media player will not drain the battery of the car faster in everyday use? Honda Fit/Jazz have notoriously small batteries.
As long as you don't use is it while the igniton is ON or Accessory mode, that will drain the battery..so basically when using any device installed on your car, espacially like this you have to run the engine to keep the car battery charging

That I’m not sure, I am US based and we have no inspections like that here. Definitely something to check into if you do.

Hello, do you happen to have the instructions manual still and if so, is there any possibility I could get a photo or two of the instructions for steering wheel controls please? Unfortunately mine didn't come with instructions and although I've installed a few stereos in the past, I couldn't reuse my carplay harness with this

6:48 What happened to the wire that was plugged at the bottom next to the white one, I didnt see that get used with the new head unit, is it just unused?

It should, but I haven’t tried it because this car didn’t have them
Installed the same thing from Amazon for $130. Antenna doesn't work even tho I have the correct antenna connector on it.
Connect the blue wire from the adapter to the blue/white remote cable and try again
Completely dropped the ball not showing you removing the a pillar. How do I get this out??
It’s more trouble than it’s worth. You have to hit the pillar at a certain location with a rubber mallet to break the click to remove it. Yes, break the clip meaning you have to have another clip ready to replace it. What a dumb design
No need to install the gps right?! Going through the side part of the door seems very complicated.
You can use it without GPS I would imagine
Hello, I tried o install the same radio on my Honda jazz/fit 2012. Previously I had a Pioneer SPH-DA120. After installation, I have noticed that I do not have any sound. Could you please help me with that? Thank you!
Outside of checking all your connections, you may have a faulty unit. If they look good I would see if they could exchange it for you.
Bought this and have the same problem with the connector/antenna. Oddly the sent me two different connectors. One had the correct antenna part but the wrong other part for the car and the one with the right part for the car had the wrong antenna connector. I don’t have a lot of experience with wiring though so I’m not sure what to do. I yanked the connector off hoping I could swap it but I don’t think I did it right. Do you have a video of that part?
I don’t, but the second part I had listed in the description was my direct remedy for that issue.

does this work with reverse camera with a trigger wire?
The one in the video did not come with a camera, but there are many that do that should work that way.
Does that need the disc for setting it?
I’m not sure what you mean, like a CD? Mine did not come with one so I would think no.
HELP, i bought this exact radio and did a factory setting restart and now it stays “Android Starting” but it doesn’t do nothing it just gets stuck in that screen, need help pleasee
I would contact the seller as I did not have any issue out of this one.
How did the navigation work? Does it need to be connected to internet?
No, it uses the included GPS antenna

Hi mr. B :) I have seen your video, and became very keen on getting this display myself. I have a question dough. I have steering wheel controls for input and buttons, cruise control and info on system button. I can seee that you have cruise control also. How does the panel communicate with steering wheel controls? with cable? Thank you alot for your video :) best regards
Mine did not have audio controls, but there is a way to program the radio to accept the factory buttons. They do give you a small instruction book for the programming.

if you have a phone do you really need this device installed in your car? Lot of extra work, not to mention expense! Would not be for me!
Well the car itself had no Bluetooth capability, so that’s why I installed it mostly.
Exposing a phone to broad daylight while running a navigation app is the fastest way to thrash the battery and shorten its life due to high temps
Some of our OEM radios are broken, or sun bleached or any other reason, outdated
@@concordsstI run the vent AC pointed towards it. Keeps it cool.
Also, Bluetooth dongle for $30 from Meijer. Plugs into the aux port.
for others adding bluetooth, backup camera and android auto is worth it, and that's the point. I have 2 Fit's of the same generation, and currently running a BT dongle with the associated power plug and aux cable requirements... it's a freaking mess when it comes to cable management and that mess spills over into the cup holders in the center console. I'm still going to run my phone on a mount, but getting rid of the BT dongle and having a larger screen for GPS nav is worth it for me. I get it, not for you... but my daughter loves having a backup camera.
Removing the CD player for a cheap Chinese tablet is a serious downgrade with absolutely no benefits. I recommend just using your phone/tablet/laptop with a Bluetooth receiver. You don't even need a receiver as all computers can act as one with the right software: they can accept a Bluetooth sound input and output it to the aux.
Okay boomer.
It is quite literally an upgrade. Imagine thinking a Chinese CarPlay unit is inferior to a Chinese cd player.

@@henlofren7321 Ok, so specifically in the case that you have an enormous collection of cds, this is a downgrade. I’m telling people, Blu-ray is an enormous downgrade because of my collection of photo negatives that I swipe my eyes across at 24 pictures per second.
