Fieldsports Britain - Big Squirrel Hunt
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 бер 2019
- With spring underway and songbirds starting the long struggle to raise their broods, it's a good time of year to go out and shoot grey squirrels. Gamekeeper Paul Childerley and his buddy Scott are doing just that, with Remington semi-auto and pump, in woodlands around their Bedfordshire shoot. Jamie Chandler is on pest control duty, too. He is out on the farm in Hampshire looking for pigeons and, of course, squirrels. Plus he has the new BSA Defiant bullpup air rifle to try. There's Hunting UA-cam and David is on the News Stump in this week's #FieldsportsBritain

Good day everyone,
Another great sets of videos for this week, many thanks and best regards from New Zealand.
Another fantastic episode thank you guy's! Without doubt the best show of this type on UA-cam!
Glad to see you incorporate a bit of Air gun information and new innovations into this show. I often wish you would restart the "Air Heads" channel, but in absence of that, incorporating air gun segments into the F.S.B. show would be fine. Keep up the great shows, best wishes ... William C. U.S.A.
32 grams of 6 isn't anything like heavy enough and you can see that by the way the dreys aren't exploding. A lot of those dreys they thought were empty actually had squirrels in them that stayed put because the shots couldn't penetrate. BB is the shot to use.
srspower big cartridges are the best but if you don’t have any anything’s will do if your close enough it’s expensive shooting 100s of drays
Went out this morning and got two... one with each barrel. Also got three rabbits a pigeon and two crows.
This is not a criticism, only a question. I thought that GB outlawed shooting pigeons. Am I right?
Skydiver Diver
This comment was made before they changed the law, however you can still shoot them for crop protection if you make suitable attempts to get rid of them without shooting first. If your interested I would suggest watching some videos about it as it is rather confusing. Since the change in laws I have not been out after pigeons or corvids but the squirrels and rabbits are still on the list. I am waiting for them to finalise the general licenses before I go pigeon shooting again which is a big hassle but I want to stay on the right side of the law and I also have GCSE’s for another month but after that I will be out protecting my orchard whether I have to put out a scarecrow first or not 😂😂
@@willh3284 Thank you so very much for your reply. I am from Oklahoma in the USA and while you said some things there that I did not understand. such as GCSE's, I pretty much get the gist of what you are saying. I pray your hunting this year is fruitful. Thanks again for the answer.
@@skydiver6711 GCSE's are very important exams, they are sort of like very important SAT's or a high school diploma
@@willh3284 Thanks for the education. As I'm sure you know, none of that is required to get a gun in the USA. So many of your laws are foreign to us. But I have a feeling that we will be more like you in the UK in the future. There are some strong movements toward stronger gun control. At any case, happy hunting. Love watching the hunting that goes on in the UK. I"m also a little older and I still find it amazing that I am talking to someone clear across the ocean from me. It is kind thrilling.
Great bit of squirrel control 👍
Great show thanks
Well done guys

Great eating. Squirrel stew. Great show as usual. thanks
Greys on the run with my 410 i love never shot them in the drey
That rodentine poltroon Jacoby referring the those chaps from The British Game Alliance as "posh" is a case of "le marmite calling la bouilloire noir" !
Thanks Charlie 👍
❤❤
Excellent show old chap. Excellent rant as well.
Sorry fieldsports , you should never shoot dreys as you don't know what's in them , I've seen an owl come out of a drey before.
Iam a keen Squrriel hunter but would never do this.
especially leaving a load of shot embedded into the trees, can cause upper crown dieback. An arboriculturalist and keen private pest controller.
Bad form shooting nests. If they're there you are likely to only wound and they'll die without leaving the nest. Usually in winter though, they're inside the trees. Nests are warm weather hideouts.
I like size 5s for squirrels as gets into the dreys better
BB gamebore Buffalo 36 grams
Tnx Charlie! Should I get a translation or subtitle running...?
Jawohl Mic-Kay-Yell 😄 / Charlie
Best way to catch a squirrel is to climb up a tree and act like a nut.
LOL, JOKER. BRILLIANT.
That's one of my favorite jokes. I've used it for years. An ocean separates us but a good sense of humor unites us.
Why don't crimp up old or used air rifle pellets and pack your own shell with them
Ted!
heres me thinking you where posh Charlie
If it goes around the tree stand were you are and throw your hat around the other side and make the squarel come back to you
Gamekeeper up north
Excellent tip - thanks
Rocks work well, too.
Folks I live in co donegal in Ireland. I see in this UA-cam clip that they are putting satellite tags on golden eagles in Scotland. I have caught one on my game cam here about 2 weeks ago . Would love to fine out we're it came from. Am a local gun club member I have ask the chairman of the club as he is a member of birdwatch Ireland but have heard nothing back since.
Hi - we can ask the viewers. Please can you send me the footage charlie@fieldsportschannel.tv
So , was He Swedish or Norwegian ?, just a smidgen confusing .
He was Norwegian, the victim Swedish.
@@fieldsportstv Thanks.
is shooting squirrels in their nests fair play is that sportsman like
Vermin nothing sporting about having to clear up pests. Use any means necessary
@@stephenhogan2526 shooting squirrels in nests has always been a no no and I've been hunting much much longer than you have different cultures
if shooting for meals they are not vermin
Shooting nest? Really that's unethical in my opinion but I guess everyone has a way of doing it.
@James clark I understand that but you still have no idea about what you hit or if its even a squirrels nest
Sheep farms kill Golden Eagles. if foxes can Kill lambs and eagles eat foxes it It's obvious eagles eat sheep and lambs we all seen the video.
Was gonna watch but then see that Jamie blokes on an he can't hit Jack all
