Great informative video, I never would have known about the tape trick or the 5200!
That 5200 is good stuff. Don’t over apply it and leave. It will expand as it dries. I always stick around and wipe it off as it dries and expands. But it’s best to not over apply it. Glad you could use the video!
Great video, watched it a few times and made my install really simple. Very much appreciated.
Glad it helped you out!
Great video. As a carpenter I would say it's a bad idea to caulk the edge. Water will get in, all the caulk will do is trap water. Thanks for putting the video up.
I agree with you on caulking edges. We ended up not caulking them. Thanks for watching
Used a 3/16 drill bit for the holes with the screws in the link provided. Lund boat, screw broke off in the fiberglass and gel coat cracked despite aggressive champfer. Upsized to 7/32 drill bit and worked much better.
Thanks for the info. I haven’t had one break off yet thank goodness. I’ve put on 5 more rails since this video.
Sorry that happened. I usually go in and back screw out and keep doing that, but I agree it’s better to be safe so you don’t break a screw off. We haven’t broken a screw yet using this method, but it would if we didn’t go in and out.
3M 4200 would have been way better to use , but nice job :)
Great video. I have a 621 VS Is there a possibility to use bolts nuts washers instead of screws? I understand I would need to check for obstacles underneath. Last question. Can I keep original rails and just add a 6” track on each side for downriggers?
If you watch our newest videos you’ll see 6” rails on the very back of the boat. I used bolts and washers for those and glue. It would be tough to do the side rails with bolts. If it were me I wouldn’t even try. For downriggers, I believe have a minimum rail of 24”. I would probably agree with that.
Do you install or recommend an installer for Cisco track? This would be near Cleveland, Ohio.
I don’t know of any installers. We are in Oklahoma. What kind of boat do you have? I just installed another 6 tracks and they go by really fast especially if you already know the drill bit size. You can honestly do without the chamfer bit if you want.
@@BooneBoys i have 273 Everglades CC. It’s fiberglass but I’m worried it doesn’t have the wood paneling like the ranger
@@josephmiceli6913 I could be wrong but our boat is only fiberglass. I would think that most all fiberglass gunnels could handle these. I think between the glue and quite a few holes you should be good. I never measured but I’m guessing gunnel thickness is 1/4”-3/8”.
👍💗👍
Thx!
What size champfer did you use?
I used a 1/2” champfer bit.
@@BooneBoys thanks!

Did you get to fish today?
We had a quick evening at Canton and John Barry caught his PB striper! I’ll try and get video out Saturday morning. Did you go this weekend?
We had flag football Saturday and church this morning, and didn't do much other than that...I keep joking about taking a suck day from school to hit Canton again.
*sick...🤣
