    Im a 3rd year chemical engineering student. I just finished an exam and I honestly did horribly even though I did study and felt like I was going to do very good, so I came to UA-cam for motivation and idkw but your video actually helped, so thank you.       Madhav Gupta It’s a good amount, Calculus, Differential Equations, Statistics, you’ll always be using math in basically all your classes except chemistry.

      Ching The Opps I’m not sure how the salary is in the UK. Personally salary is important, you want to have a good return on investment from your education, I would also factor in how long you’re in school. It depends what is peaking your interest more ?

      As a chemical engineer you could also work in a lab doing research. Let’s say you get tired working in a lab, you could easily switch your career as a chemical engineer , not sure how easy that would be as a chemist. Chemical Engineering has A lot of math too!

      Trent Stross Yes, This specific internship I’m working in is mainly desk, but that’s not the case for all ChemE’s . In terms of dealing with chemicals a lot, it’s more of a conceptual knowledge thats needed, it truly depends on what project we’re working on. I can’t really speak on the high salary yet since I’m an intern. Hope that was able to help :)

      Ben Dover I was working on a project where the company wanted to see which raw materials they used most, so that they could automate it in their batch productions. I just used simple excel data anyalsis tools, to look at averages, maxes, & mins, nothing too major.

      Aloyce Junior Awesome bro! Your first year you’ll be taking a lot of your general courses. (Calculus, General Chem, Physics). It’s going to be a transition, but if you find a good study group & have good time management you’ll be fine.

      Yeah, it depends on your school though, some will let you repeat courses again. At that internship I didn’t use any advanced math at all

      When I was at this internship a lot of the senior engineers were saying the same thing about how most of what you learn will be on the job. So, don’t worry you’ll be fine

    I am starting my summer internship in a few weeks but I’m a little worried about the data analysis just wondering what skills you found helpful in terms of applying to the job? I’m feel comfortable with excel but using coding like python is still scary any advice?

      Erika Moreno The data analysis I was doing was mainly basis excel descriptive statistics, it wasn’t much coding. Depending on your role/company you probably won’t have to worry about coding, but it doesn’t hurt to learn a little python before your internship. Regardless, since you’re an intern they won’t expect you to know everything

      @@cm-7615 Well most chemical engineers work in manufacturing and design the processes needed to manufacture stuff like pharmaceuticals, food/beverage, oil/gas ,etc. I hope that's a somewhat good explanation , I plan on doing a video where I go into more detail of the types of things ChemE's do

      My advice: Go for it! It doesn’t matter how long it takes you to get the degree, it’s better to do something you actually might have an interest in!

      Lamarti Ilyas Based on industry averages, the average chemical engineer intern can make anywhere from low teens ($15) to mid twenties ($24ish) per hour. It truly all depends on the company/industry you work in. 40hr weeks, 4 weeks in a month, will get you good estimate of how much you can expect to make in a month.

      @@AlsworthTV Hey, I'm currently almost done with my secondary school education in Nigeria, I'm going into Chemical engineering as a course in uni. Any other advice on like what I could do, or read, or watch that'll make the course a little more bearable

      @@oluwakayode3758 hard is subjective it could potentially be easier for you. The more of a an actual interest you have in it, the easier it would be for you though. One thing for sure, you will definitely have to study hard to understand a lot of the topics in chemical engineering
