They've had stock issues since they began trading. Also I have a pair of their Gobi II boots that are 4 years old and still going strong. Conversely I have a pair of Black Gobi II that are a just over a year old, are only worn occasionally and have nearly worn through. Interesting that there is now a revivo service offered!

Absolutely amazing review as always!! Bought a pair of geocourts recently and I do agree about the stiffness - I don't really find it to be much of an issue though, still really enjoying wearing them. Love the idea of using the SGs as artificial football/soccer boots, will have it give it a go at some point!

I've got both the trail fg and the geo racer 2.
I love the trail fg, I want to love the racers but I think they run large so I'm going to try sending them back for the 11.5 as the 12 are too big, I think it's the soft uppers which have more movement than the trails, which gives me blisters on my forefoot soles.

I'm interested in the women's fulham Chelsea boot but also looking into casual sneakers. Would you recommend the geo courts (or Addis) for someone who has never worn barefoot shoes? Do you think they'd make a good transitional shoe?

It might be worth noting that the Gobi II also exists in a fabric version. The upper is made of hemp, which does make them more suitable for hotter weather, and of course also for people who like to avoid leather shoes.

Great overall review, even better with both your wife and yourself’s experience of wearing them. Look forward to a winter footwear review. I recently purchased Vivobarefoot Gobi Hi 4 but after wearing them around in the house for 2 weeks the foot area is great but they feel way too stiff and painful around the ankle - not what I am after in a barefoot shoe! Apparently they changed the ankle area since the Gobi Hi 3. 🤔 I’ll be using their great 100 day refund. It’s a shame as I really like the look of the boot.
I hardly ever wear socks so also look forward to the ‘sockless’ review!

Huge thanks for this video! Just when I decided to get the Geo Courts, they are no longer available :( Out of all the offerings from various companies, I think they would be my perfect main shoe. I have Feelgrounds but, while their new sole is perfect, and the shoes are comfortable and look great, they only offer a synthetic upper. Since I'd rather have a longer-lasting (assumption?) leather upper, I was hoping to get the Geo Courts. Hopefully they go back in stock in the summer and not permanently discontinued. The stiffer sole and upper are fine by me since, not being a purist, I am more interested in a wide, natural toebox and a zero-drop sole than being able to feel every single rock while I'm walking.

maybe this channel is perfect to answer my question: I recently tried the Primus lite III and it was to wide at the midfood/arch area for my foot. they also had a pair of primus lite II at the shop (unfortunately only in a larger size) and they felt more narrow and better fitting. so is the Geo Racer closer to the shape of the Primus II or Primus III?

Cool video. Just a warning though, never put Vivobarefoot shoes in a washing machine. They also don't recommend it. The outer rubber sole and puncture resistant membrane's glue gets ruined and it creaks like a mofo.
The wax you've been applying to your Gobi II's seems to have worked very well in keeping them in good shape. Some I've seen online look wrecked after only six months.
I wish that Vivobarefoot did more casual ankle boots. Apart from the Gobi leather, they have nothing. Previously they had canvas Gobi's and the Borough and a men's Fulham boot, which seem discontinued ;(

First of all, really good video again! :)
I got a question.. maybe someone can tell me their experience with it.
I now have some pairs in different sizes of the Primus Lite III All Weather Men to try them on. And when lifting my toes and actually walking barefoot (without socks) at home with them, my big toes sometimes come up through the mesh and then bump against the rubber/plastic on the front top of the toe box. Has anyone experienced that as well and did it turn out to be an issue when running outside? I'm afraid that might be a problem in the long run but can't actually test them outside and running without having to keep them. Was even thinking about getting the new Vivobarefoot Geo Shell Men, because that one got no uppper mesh.
I would appreciate any advice or opinion!

Hi! You mentioned one of the Vivo shoes as being good for futsal on astroturf. What barefoot shoe would you recommend for futsal on hardcourts, or for other court sports? I'm used to the low heights of futsal shoes, but would love to use a shoe with a wider toebox (would seem great for pull backs) while still having good lockdown and support for lateral moves and feints.

Trail FGs are fantastic road shoes, especially if you are new to running barefoot due to the thicker sole. The Primus Lites are seriously thin and would deter you from running on anything other than smooth terrain. If you can only buy one pair, go with the FGs for more freedom.

Go with the length measure, not the presumed size. With any shoe it's recommended to leave 1,2cm rolling space for toes. My longer foot is 25,5 so I'd have to go with 26,2 (which is perfectly Vivo men's size 40) with Wildlings I have size 41, they have rolling space counted into them because 42's were way to big, didn't have a printer to try the size out like that and size 41 is 24,83 - 25,49 cm

I am craving for it and even wrote Merrell about it but it doesn't happen.
Sadly, I am using an Altra Superior 4-5 without insole to have somewhat better protection and similar toebox. It is too plush for me and too high, too bouncy and too much shoe. That sais, still better than everything else for my feet.
The Trail glove is a joke, too narrow, too much arch support and a far inferior gorund feel.

I have the EZ Knit…just got them. I think they are aesthetically very clean and the knit material is much tighter woven and seems like it would be better for cooler weather. I also have the earlier laced version of the Knit in both white and black, on which I replaced the standard laces with elastic laces with zig zag instead of cruciform lacing pattern and a knot at the ends, so I don’t have to tie them. They slip on and off easily and look wonderful, the white ones even having been through the washing machine a few times a year. On the EZ’s, I think that instead of the Velcro strap, I would have liked an elastic band, perhaps with a subtle Vivo logo. I use the Primus Treks in tan for work, but have the new Decons on the way. A few years, 10+ pairs... heh yeah that sounds familiar allright. Once I tried one pair, I swapped out all shoes (except for snow boots - vivos are way too slippery on ice/snow!)
On the Geocourts, they break in quite a lot over time - my pair started out really stiff, now 8 months later they're super comfy.

Vivobarefoot used to be my go-to but don't consider them as an option anymore.
Bought winter shoes that lasted one season until there was a hole in the bottom. Contacted support and there was no repair service available. Cobbler couldn't provide any repair either because of the way the sole is made. 200e for shoes that lasted for one winter season and could not be repaired.

^^That's a link to the latest version of them. I'm not a huge fan of the colour. They've discontinued the ones in this video. They were the first version.
If you want the first version, their sister company that refurbishes and sells used Vivos are selling them. They're cheaper and in this case have never been worn - presume they went unsold originally. I just bought a pair for astro.

Are these shoes good if you have a high arch? (ive seen so many mixed views - No good for high arch. Buy a size bigger...) My head is all over the place.

I can’t decide wether to buy the Primus Lite III’s or the Trail FG 2’s, both in black. Like I want to have an everyday shoe that looks kind of subtle, and I want to both use it as a gym shoe and as a running shoe. The running will be on road, trail and track, and I plan to also use them in my everyday life. Any help or interjections would be gravely appreciated.

Ja, asseblief, man! When you have the time, I would LOVE to watch a video about the benefits of losing my socks! 😅 I'm very new to this barefoot style of shoe, don't own a pare of vivo barefoots yet, but may just be getting a Geo Racer. Lol. Thanks wifey! ❤️🙏🏻 I've also recently fallen in love with injinji socks, and never used to like those trendy toe socks that people would have about...but Injinji does it right. 😁 After the initial strange feeling of 5 to 15 minutes...they stayed on my feet the whole day, I slept with them on (normally, i rip my socks off my feet at night, because they have to breathe!), and continued the entire rest of the next day with them until my shower that evening. (36 hours) ironically,I had misplaced them, and just found them again a couple days ago...and yes, I'm totally wearing them while I'm writing this! 🤣
Anyway, loved this video so much, thank you so much for making it, hey! Baie dankie maneer! 🙏🏻 (my afrikaans was always terrible growing up in Cape Town, and it definitely lost importance when my family moved to the states, so I'm afraid you're limited to please and thank you, LOL! Jammer! 😉)
It's so nice to hear a legitimate accent again, especially discussing in such detail the benefits of so many vivo barefoot shoes! 🙏🏻

Thank you for this video. I have been wanting to try this vivobarefoot brand for a long time now and have finally pulled the trigger with the suggestion of the juniors sizing and also the discount code. With training for my first full ironman last year I wound up getting plantar fasciitis. I had for years worn Altra shoes because of the wide-toe box area. Then over the last few years started wearing Hokas with the thought of more cushion would be better for me with the longer distances. Anyways after months of pain, I finally got a cortisone shot and since then have started my foot strengthening journey. Besides stretching and rolling each day I have been using toe spreaders and am back using Altra shoes. Once I receive these Primus knits I plan to slowly incorporate them. I live at the beach except for right now because there is snow on the ground :). Wish me luck!

I have a question regarding sizing - according to Vivobarefoot's website, the size you should choose is your foot length plus additional 6-14 mm. Is this correct? What's your experience with sizing with Vivo?

I threw out all my old shoes and switched 100% to barefoot shoes in 2016 (5 years ago). I’ve used Vivobarefoot, but here are favourite brands of minimalist shoes: Joe Nimble, Baer, Zaqq, Senmotic.
Joe Nimble used to be owned by Baer and their older ranges were superb luxury shoes for all occasions...expensive but premium. Sadly Baer sold it off and the new company tends to only make cheaper sporty shoes with each design using the same boring template....still they’re well made.
I’ve found Vivobarefoot a little basic in construction leading to less comfort and their sizing is a bit off for my feet. What I like about Baer and Joe Nimble is once you’ve identified your foot size, then every pair will fit perfectly thereafter, making online ordering a breeze.
Unfortunately, since Brexit there’s now additional VAT import duty to pay...even if you return the shoes.

Thus far, I have tried 3 pairs of this brand and they are just not deep enough across the instep. They left indentations across the top of my foot with the tightness of the fit. I would love to wear barefoot but errors in fit are just too expensive to make repeatedly. Nobody seems to talk about the depth of the foot, only about the width of the toe box but I am needing something to accommodate a deep instep.
