She's a young woman who wasn't content to live a boring, mundane life so she hit the road in her Casita Travel Trailer and has been a full-time RVer for many years now. This lady has more common sense than 99% of the population, good for her, I’m sure she’ll be fine while having lots of fun.
She was, like all of us indoctrinated into the system but she was brave enough to get out because lots of us don’t fit into their system. Great video Bob. Cheers!!!
To be fair, van-life wasn't really a thing back when I was "indoctrinated into the system". I've only really become aware if it in the last several years and only due to UA-cam.
Yep. I went to college, earned high honors, got a great degree, built a great career with numerous achievements and awards, bought the house, etc., etc., just like everybody told me I should, and I sure wanted to please everybody else more than myself because I was that kind of codependent person. Then, at the age of 50, I lost absolutely everything during the great recession and ended up with virtually nothing except the regret that I hadn't lived my life the way I actually wanted to, which was very similar to this young woman. Now, I'm about to turn 65, and I'm finally saying "F-this!" to this life and I'm so going to spend the rest of it road-tripping with my little critter family in a 13-foot Scamp. Better now than never!
Even though this vid is 5yrs. pass, I still enjoyed every bit of it! Kudos to Miss Becky, being such a strong, wise young lady, & taking on a challenge of living a solo female traveler lifestyle!
Becky seems like a very nice down to earth person so it makes me a little sad that she is pretty much alone all of the time, but if she is happy that way then it's great. She seems like she would make a great friend though. The Casita is VERY nice! She has room for everything she needs and then some.

Nice to see someone who hasn't stylized their camper too much. The fact that she accepted a little 70s style and just concentrated on living her life and not spending months personizing it to her taste makes it more attainable to the average person.
I honestly prefer the 70s style and I'm only 19
I get the feeling that this woman is some kind of superstar. So bright, cheerful, and articulate!

❤the the video and her home. What a sweet soul. In my experience...lots if windows equals lots of energy loss. She's younger however if your older, please consider less windows. Yes. It's a sacrifice but when its 110° or -14°...you will be thankful.

I noticed some people were commenting about how to launder your clothes and not liking to go to the laundry mat. A 5 gallon bucket and a lid with a small hole in the center of the lid. A clean toilet plunger with 3 to 5 small holes around the top of the rubber part. Add water and small amount of Dr. Bronner's soap and dirty clothes. Start plunging. Rinse and repeat. Hang to dry. Well la, clean clothes. There is also the Wonderwash Non-electric Portable Compact Mini Washing Machine sold on Amazon or eBay. I find most things are actually cheaper on eBay.
I still live in my apartment, but it's $6 to do a load of laundry that's way tiny. So, that's the method I use for my laundry. Works great.. Seems to be easier on my garments.
There's a contraption you can buy for laundry that is a little larger than an electric power bar (the one I saw ran on electricity, about 18" x 5" in baby blue). It sits in a bucket and gyrates to wash in soap. Dump out and rinse x 2. Hang to dry.
There's a wonderful feeling of excitement I always get when I'm traveling and hit the road.
Waking up early sipping on a good cup of coffee and occasionally meeting other Nomads and connecting with others. I'm looking forward to doing that again someday.
I'm a single mom with a 25 year old daughter. I always tell her BE AWARE. That's the single best way to stay safe, know what your surroundings are!! I did alot of travel alone as a professional dog handler for past 30 years..travel and camping in my van was something I did alot of.
Is the professional dog handler similar with dog whisperer...?
That's a great little set up. Bathroom, kitchen, dining room and bedroom.

All these youngsters wanting to live off the grid...what will they do if they become disabled and never funded the SS $pool live off of society... ever hear the word "no" .. my ex hubby has 4 of the 14 impairments for disability. He paid into the $SS fool for 40 years and they have denied him his own $money 3 times in 10 years.... this is his 4th application and hes been waiting since Aug 12th without an answer about to lose his home & everything else....

I'm retired and would have considered doing this but because I still have a minor at home and taking care of my mother with dementia I am not able to. Working at the national parks is a great idea for extra money. Thank you for sharing your story with us Becky.
Very organized and pragmatic approach to her RV living. Probably, one of the more impressive interviews I've seen. Hope she remains happy, healthy, and safe in her continuing journey on the road.

Way to go, Becky! I just bought a 2016 Casita and am so excited to adventure with it. I don't have a microwave, and I'm torn between getting one of them or, in lieu, possibly a small toaster oven.

Thanks Bob! Sometimes I think it's all a crazy dream but your videos help me stay motivated. Heck, I'm over half way there. Paid for Econoline that is in great shape and my Mr. Buddy heater just arrived this week.
Analysis paralysis gets me a lot. But it's important to also remember if it doesn't feel right to do, sometimes better timing works out.
It's difficult to tell the difference but if not inspired to do something that's nagging me, often it works out better because things fall into place later on with a much better outcome. Goes into the philosophy section for... later. :) So far so good.

Analysis paralysis . After driving 1500 miles on my maiden journey I was FRIED just figuring out everything all of the time. I can’t say I even let myself enjoy it much. I rested in one place for a month and that let me get used to the Systems . The Trip got me used to hitching up and backing up and mirrors.

This set-up looks very comfortable, also LOTS of windows. I can see why she likes it.
I'm 63 and love my RV life full time of on my 5 th year, my only regret is that I didn't do this younger age . When cov hit I upgraded my Ram 1500 for a new Ram 4x4 off road package Ram and a 24 foot travel trailer and I hit the road and 37 states later I'm loving this freedom tax free life , I camp 99.9 % free 😀 once a month I RV park to dump black and gray or something I just do the dumping station 🚉 .
You are a very smart lady. I'm going to go back on the road again in the next month. I cannot live in an apartment and be happy.

Rusty had a Casita Spirit Deluxe. He has a mind changer for part of his security plan. And just enough paranoia but not enough to go to the crazy house.
Great video. Thanks. The Casita has everything one needs. I lived in one for four years. I found the A/C on the floor was not up to the job in the Mojave desert where I was. I pulled it out and put a small unit in the sliding emergency window. The window folds out. Since I had no hookup I used a generator and it worked fine with a Honda gen set up front. That way the gen noise was minimal. I am going to be in the Casita again and this time I will get a portable AC with inverter technology and put it up in the front closet. The air outlet will be higher and I can go with more BTUs since the generator is the small Honda one. I hope we improve solar some more and we can cool with solar with a reasonable number of panels. The batteries turned me off solar.

Lively young woman living a happy life style after learning the hard way what she didn't like . These fiberglass units seem to be the best type although I was considering an A-frame popup. That was apparently a very small campsite and she must like secluded spots. Good luck Becky.

At 69 I still do one step at a time. Sometimes I write a goal, and write intermediate steps. Then take a step:)
I remember the attic fan going… while it being 112 in Oklahoma. The huge fan we had in high school band when it was in the 90s with 90 percent humidity. It’s just a day in the life!

Wow...another great video Bob...Thank you to you, and to Becky, for some really great information. Solar suitcases, job tips, and Becky's e-book sounds like a great read. I will be finding it shortly. The safety tips were soooo common sense, but its always great to hear the same things from another woman...TRUST YOUR GUT!...if it doesn't feel right...MOVE ON! I can not wait to get started on my journey. It will be a little longer planning for me as I have decided to take my grand daughters out of the traditional school system for a year and travel with them. Watch for our "Girls on the Go" youtube video's...LOL...I was a little saddened by the thought of losing my dream of traveling full time when the 3 girls first came into my care...but as I got thinking about it more and more and doing more research about families that travel full time, I realized that I didn't have to give up my dream...I just had to modify it a bit. And I honestly think now that having the girls will give me such a fabulous experience. I will see things now that I may have otherwise skipped over. Home schooling them will take us to places that I never thought of. Donkey rides down the canyon, and many other experiences that will fill their home schooling experience with awe from all their friends left at home here...LOL...Your channel has been such a fabulous resource for me and I cant thank you enough for some really great video's. Looking forward to many more...Much thanks!

This is the FIRST of several that I have watched which actually got me to imagine selling my Home and getting myself a "Mobile" Casita! Becky's tips on employment caught my interest. And that little Casita does more than one would expect. So...Buddy Heater??? What about laundry? If you are holding a job, Wardrobe is important..
Lottie, I highly recommend the Buddy heaters, they are great! We just go to laundromats to do our laundry, just like we did when we rented apartments. But, now we take our home with us!

CheapRVliving Bob, you have a vehicle that is multi-purpose: Travel and Living! Plus, you have devised other means of acquiring income.
I have a home, that has been out-fitted with the needs that a Van cannot provide: i.e., Laundry, Hot Bath or Shower, Regular mail delivery, Permanent address for Job-reference and employment purposes.
My itchy-feet ( to use your catch-phrase ) only make me anxious when someone whom I love or miss is Sick or dying, or has a special occasion that I'm too far away to attend.
Hotels/Motels are too expensive long-term for my budget; and even if I had the money, they are not as private as I would like ... (Maids, Maintenance men ), transient drug addicts.
I am attached to my own LAUNDRY ( I've had expensive clothes ruined by Grease and Dyes left in the public washers; and most of all, my Private, Customized Toilet ... No problems with dumping or the weather outside!!
The rest of my house has less hold over me.
Still, I'm dreaming of finding a Good, Used, CARGO High-Top Van ( like the one that Sassy found ... your dvd Dec 28, 2016 ) to convert for temporary travel...two week visits, or longer.
Then I will have the same challenges as you:
Vehicular Maintenance Support.
LOTTIE TUNES I've heard they are basically useless you can't wash much in them and the dryer will heat up your trailer to the point were you have to stay outside.
hunter67193 weeks ago.... Thanks so much for the Candid appraisal of those little RV washer/Dryer Combo's. I would have spent the money and probably would have felt like a real fool for trying.
Now I can avoid that trap.!!

Been following your blog. Funny thing is, I turned down a job at the same fulfillment center you are working (as a full-timer) to take a job in Kanab, UT that offered housing. My goal is to save for a van to convert and then buy a trailer!
