Even though I’ve seen this SO many times, I hadn’t really thought about the reflection when AleXa was running back and forth. That’s even more impressive knowing that she filmed on green screen, so the reflection had to have been added by Layne in editing. He IS amazing!
I had not noticed the reflections. I’ve watched it several times and even during watching this time I forgot to look. I think because I knew it was green screen I didn’t expect to see a reflection. But now that I have, I am astounded at the genius of probably Eli and possibly Layne .

@@ericturner7824 AleXa filmed the patrons a hello message from the studio where she filmed her part of the video. The only black was the ceiling. Compared to other things he’s done (see Villains from Pattycake Productions) a reflection would have been relatively easy for Layne. I just hadn’t thought about it before.

I loved this. I really liked AleXa's little hip shift at the end. She gave this so much sass. I love the original, but this was just far too enjoyable to experience. I love VoicePlay so much. Great reaction Mortius - love your enthusiasm.
That sound you couldn't figure out was Layne doing an inhale note which he's done many times before but this is a new way he's down it . There's 3 ways. singing just making the noise and talking . He's talked it in the ACA top 10 videogames . And he's made the noise where he normally slides down going down in a yuhyuhyuhyuhyhh type sound. This was the first time he's used it in more of a singing style

Dramatic irony: when the audience knows something that a character does not know. Example: 19:09, "YES!!! That's the Eli high note I was waiting for!" I just giggled and giggled, because oh dude, JUST WAIT. My favorite moment in any given VP song is almost always a Geoff bass moment, but that high F#5 at 19:39 just keeps making my jaw drop every time I hear it. Also, my favorite breakfast food is peach crepes. I rarely have them because good fresh peaches are so hard to find and SO EXPENSIVE, but on the rare occasion I treat myself, it tastes like sunshine and summer and happiness.

Pretty sure that "snorting" thing is Layne breathing backwards, he is able to use the backwards force to create that, I have to admit I was originally very disappointed Eli wasn't used more during this but I have listened to it more its only getting better. I think you should just re-watch it in your own time and focus on what Geoff is doing in the background, that's almost just as good as the actual song.
Totally agreed. 🙂 But there are so many OTHER things going on, and it's BACKGROUND stuff, not "solo", so I believe the conscious attention is just kinda "overwhelmed" and loses track of that incredible background work. 🙂
I watch beatbox vids and some of the beatboxers use that type of bass that if I'm not mistaken it's called a Snore bass, but theirs also the Inward bass that some times sounds similar to the Snore bass.
@@h3atwave202 Beatboxer here, you are mostly correct, it is actually either throat bass or snore bass. Both are very similar in sound but with the production that they do it is hard to tell exactly. The inward base is more resonant and "wavy" then the snore and throat basses and makes a distinctly different sound.

Geoff's surprise climb to the rafters gets everybody's attention (deservedly) but I've never heard anyone (over 20 reactions so far and counting) comment on the gorgeous soprano descant floating above all that right in that section - it's just mind-blowingly beautiful. One of the reasons I've now watched your reactions over a half-dozen times is because of how often you pause and back up to something amazing. Plus you NOTICE stuff! And then show it to the rest of us. At least 10 of the reactions I've watched so far have just sat there and oohed and aahed but only paused once or twice (usually at Layne, of course) and now I fully understand why Geoff said they put too much effort in to have someone just sit and watch it dumbly. I’m 99% sure Geoff transitions to Eli on that B4. You can hear Geoff go up in the right ear, then Eli comes in on the left ear with the same note, and then Geoff picks up the bass line in the right ear.
I've seen another reactor ask Layne "What was *that* ?" in this video. And it hit me: If Adam Rupp of Home Free is the "Freak of Nature," than Layne Stein is the Mad Scientist. Adam can hear a sound and reproduce it with astonishing accuracy (Kick drum? no problem. Castanets? Pitched toms? _Harmonica_ ? Easy-Peasy). Layne Stein, on the other hand can keep a beat with accuracy and precision *while creating sounds our brains can't even classify* . Kevin Olusula, meanwhile, is definitely the Artiste.
Half whole wheat bagel with a tomato slice, two fresh basil leaves and a slice of provolone in a high heat toaster oven for about four minutes. I feel like Layne has been leveling up every single release, because every new song is like, "Is this now my favorite Layne perfomance"? I know that Alexa reached out to them to do this collaboration. I haven't heard though whether the she suggested the song of if that was chosen after they decided to collaborate. She is such a perfect Jinx and I love the way her voice is used throughout the song.

This definitely needs several viewings and several listenings. I didn’t really care for it in the beginning. It triggered my anxiety with all that pacing. But I found myself humming it at various times during the day so apparently I really like the music. I checked, and I am subscribed. But I have noticed a few of the people I usually view are not coming up in my feed. I checked and I am sure I subscribed but I had to do it again so it’s a thing. Stupid UA-cam algorithm.

Love the bingo card idea! As for breakfast, my favourite is whole wheat waffles with organic maple syrup. The funny thing is that I don't like orginal by Imagine Dragons, and I wasn't crazy about this the first time I heard it. I adore it now.
Favorite breakfast: hard to pick an absolutely favorite, but French Toast with scrambled eggs and Sausage is by far the thing I order the most when going out, and what I like to make on weekends when I have the time. I love the idea of the Predictions Bingo Card. It would be fun to follow along and see the different ways they 1: give us what we’ve come to expect from them (check off your predictions as anticipated) 2: give us the polar opposite of what we expect but aren’t entirely surprised by and love just as much (i.e. the opposite of your predictions like Geoff going sky high instead of dungeons deep) and 3: totally blow us away with entirely new tricks that we can’t comprehend or explain (in this case so many of Layne’s sound effects like the “day” grumble or the snort-like bassy notes) Now my initial ADHD thought from the beginning of the reaction: I had the absolute weirdest sensation of deja vu at the part where you said “I’ll try and let the chorus play all the way through without pausing” so that was a fun way to start out the video lmao. :) As always, love the content, knowledge enthusiasm and energy you bring to your videos :) I find myself constantly checking for your uploads when I forget what day it is, and wishing for more videos all the time :) best of luck with the move and everything else.

I've seen another reactor ask Layne "What was *that* ?" in this video. And it hit me: If Adam Rupp of Home Free is the "Freak of Nature," than Layne Stein is the Mad Scientist. Adam can hear a sound and reproduce it with astonishing accuracy (Kick drum? no problem. Castanets? Pitched toms? _Harmonica_ ? Easy-Peasy). Layne Stein, on the other hand can keep a beat with accuracy and precision *while creating sounds our brains can't even classify* . Kevin Olusula, meanwhile, is definitely the Artiste.

I know that Alexa reached out to them to do this collaboration. I haven't heard though whether the she suggested the song of if that was chosen after they decided to collaborate. She is such a perfect Jinx and I love the way her voice is used throughout the song.
I heard they had already arranged this song when she reached out to them. Maybe I saw that in the video pre-launch chat? I think it just needed tweaking for her voice.

This definitely needs several viewings and several listenings. I didn’t really care for it in the beginning. It triggered my anxiety with all that pacing. But I found myself humming it at various times during the day so apparently I really like the music.

You had the same reaction to Geoff's Evil Laugh and sly smile as I did, and then when he goes sky high after his bass solo. Wish I could tell how long he holds it up there but my brain loses track when Eli and Cesar come in.
I think the reverse phonation notes are from Layne because Geoff has said he can't do them and sound good, but Layne can.

The funny thing is that I don't like orginal by Imagine Dragons, and I wasn't crazy about this the first time I heard it. I adore it now.
Favorite breakfast: hard to pick an absolutely favorite, but French Toast with scrambled eggs and Sausage is by far the thing I order the most when going out, and what I like to make on weekends when I have the time.
I love the idea of the Predictions Bingo Card. It would be fun to follow along and see the different ways they 1: give us what we’ve come to expect from them (check off your predictions as anticipated) 2: give us the polar opposite of what we expect but aren’t entirely surprised by and love just as much (i.e. the opposite of your predictions like Geoff going sky high instead of dungeons deep) and 3: totally blow us away with entirely new tricks that we can’t comprehend or explain (in this case so many of Layne’s sound effects like the “day” grumble or the snort-like bassy notes)
Now my initial ADHD thought from the beginning of the reaction: I had the absolute weirdest sensation of deja vu at the part where you said “I’ll try and let the chorus play all the way through without pausing” so that was a fun way to start out the video lmao. :)
