Still a good idea to give the actual mattress a spruce up or cleaning. It's highly recommended that you actually get your mattress professionally cleaned every 6 months or so. We have a mattress cover that we wash every few weeks and deep clean the mattress every three months. Along with switching out sheets once a week.
@@gigglesgaming131no it’s a bad idea- because memory foam warps when it’s wet. Even coiled mattresses have a layer of memory foam. It becomes like a sponge 🧽… It actually ruins the integrity of your mattress. Get 2 mattress protectors - one to cover completely and keep on and not take off- and the second (like a fitted sheet) to take on and off often to launder- to wash off sweat and dead skin cells that may accumulate on the surface. ( I worked in the industry which is why you must buy a mattress protector to ensure your warranty. )
After my oldest has gone through a couple of so called leak proof mattress protectors, none worked better than the zippered double layered type! Maybe try something safer. Vinegar & baking soda and Hydrogen Peroxide & baking are fine together but vinegar and peroxide is dangerous mixed together according to a google search I did a while back.

I enjoy deep cleaning the mattress every couple months. It helps the mattress cover we wash every couple weeks stay clean and then switching out bed sheets every week. Bed never feels or smells dirty.

I bought a Kirby years ago and I’ll be damned if it isn’t the best cleaning appliance I’ve ever bought. Granted it cost as much as a used car but it’s good to have one in the family 😂
I would told that Kirby is only worth about $300 so by the time the company takes their share the person that sold it to you takes the other share there's not much left
I just finished cleaning my mattress with peroxide and a sprinkle of light simple green solution. I used the Little Green Machine. I hope it dries within the next two hours. I need to go to sleep on time.
Check out #16 on his cleaning spree series - he shows that misting it with water and wiping is an alternative for those of us without a spotter machine
That's funny bc I did the same thing and the vacuum actually made a hole😮oops. I also have used peroxide to clean my mattress and it works really well. Also a cpl times a year i will vacuum the mattress, spray vinegar and sprinkle baking soda down, let it dry really good then vacuum again. This kills any mites that live in your mattress.
I don’t recommend using a steam or upholstery cleaner. After spraying it down apply a layer of baking soda to assist in the drying process while also whitening
I have a similar Spot Clean machine but I use water and a small amount of either Lysol brand or Clorox brand laundry sanitizer. Both are meant to be added to the rinse cycle of your wash so it's safe to not completely rinse out. Kills 99.8 percent of germs.
A zippered water resistant mattress cover will keep your mattress pristine for years...no bed bugs, smoke, pets sweat or spots...

I use a mattress pad. I have three. When one is dirty or drying the other is readily available.
I’ve used a nice, hot iron, I tested it first, and ran it over the whole mattress to kill dust mites. It worked.
How do you know that it worked?

What happened? Did you use a carpet clear like the one that uses water?
@@FatimaSouraya are there carpet cleaners that don't use water? I completely tore up all the threads on the bed. There was a big hole.

the hovercleaner does that for you@@PercahoIic
Baking Soda will void the warranty on most vacs. It gets past the filter, ruins the motor.

Somebody give Brandon raise, excellent video 😂. Now I know what machine I can use on my mattress! 😂

What percentage hydrogen peroxide is used?
3%, in the pharmacy section
How long do we need to let it dry before it can be used?
Good question! It usually dries in 2/4 hours with good air flow. This one was bone dry in 2 hours.

Cornstarch for yellow spots. Yellow spots are from sweat
