    This is the mistake I always do in my driving lessons and my instructor says 'I get concerned when you do that' :P. I even do it when there is no oncoming car, especially in a narrow road where I feel like I drive on the oncoming lane and subconsciously drive too close to the parked cars. In short, I cannot judge properly from inside of the car the width of the road or the size of the car. Could you please make an elaborate video explaining how to use the mirrors to judge my car's position properly :D? For example: how to know if I am too close to the parking cars by using the mirrors, if I stay in the middle of the lane, how to use them and what to check while parking, etc. My instructor says that the mirrors are the best tool and told me to build a habit of using them to their best. Thanks for your videos.

      On country roads and highways, there's a trick to help you maintain your correct position. It involves focusing on a specific point on the road and using your line of sight effectively. I'll be dedicating my next blog post to this topic on Fahrlingo Blog (fahrlingo.com/blog) and LinkedIn (Dario Hergarden). However, this method only helps to a limited extent on narrow urban roads.
      In urban areas, the best approach is to practice navigating these situations repeatedly. This will help you get a feel for the width of your car, as well how to recognize and handle tight spaces. As your driving instructor likely advised, use your mirrors and have an eye on them to ensure you don't hit anything. Many driving students struggle with this, so you're definitely not alone.
      All the best,
      Dario

    Hello I have been following your channel and love the details.. I failed however last week my exam..it was not due any instant failure issue but piling up of multiple smaller mistakes...I completed 3 tasks perfectly and it says so in the report as well..
    can you please guide what steps can I do to pass next time..these were the remarks
    These were the mistakes in detailed report..
    2x traffic observation when changing lanes (standard lane change) Inadequate traffic monitoring
    Speed adjustment when changing lanes (standard lane change) Insufficient speed adaptation to traffic conditions without timely correction
    Vehicle positioning when driving past (priority control without traffic signs (default))
    Falling below the safety distance to the side from other road users, structural facilities and obstacles/objects
    Vehicle positioning when driving straight ahead
    Slightly falling short of the safety distance in front of other road users without prompt correction
    Speed adjustment when driving straight ahead
    Driving slowly outside of a built-up area without a valid reason
    Speed adjustment when driving straight ahead
    Exceeding the permitted maximum speed with timely correction

      Hello Dear Zaryab Hussein
      First of all, thank you for your message and your trust! Honestly, I find it difficult to answer you because I think it would be unserious to suggest a solution without ever having ridden with you. However, I would like to try to help you.
      According to your report, as you said, there are many small mistakes that in themselves do not lead to failure, but in the aggregate lead the examiner to conclude that you need more practice, which is why he forces you to retake the exam.
      When I think of my own students who failed for similar reasons, it was often due to the following reasons. 1) Because of the exam situation, the students were so nervous that they actually couldn't perform at their best, made many small mistakes and didn't drive like they did in the lessons before. 2) And sometimes it has also been my mistake as a driving instructor. Especially with students with whom I have spent many driving lessons, it is sometimes difficult for me as an instructor to objectively assess their performance. You want the student to finally get the license after you have practiced certain things countless times and hope that it will work in the test so that you give it a try. Even though the student may need more practice.
      In this case(2) the examiner was right and it took more practice until my student was so confident that he passed the exam. In the first case described (1), it was sufficient to register the student directly for a new exam. With the experience of the first exam he knew what to expect and could concentrate better. Sometimes it is a mixture of both. Of course I can't say what exactly applies to you, but maybe this knowledge will help you to coordinate the further steps with your teacher.
      All the best, Dario

    How often should we do the shoulder Blick? One instructor says to do it while turning right/left other one says to do it on turns as well as while changing lanes (not on Autobahn but inside city roads), he says the examiner can fail you because of this..

    • @fahrlingo
      @fahrlingo  Рік тому +1

      Hi Sumit Thantharate, that's a good question and yet difficult to answer.
      The shoulder view should exclude that you overlook someone in the blind spot. That would be fatal if you change the direction of driving, even slightly. You must always signal a change of direction. So you can say that whenever you indicate, you must also look over your shoulder. You must signal in the following situations: Turning, changing lanes, leaving the roundabout, turnaround, parking in, parking out, starting after a longer stop, driving around an obstacle, overtaking and restarting after a emergency braking. In addition, there are a few situations in which you do not have to indicate but still have to look over your shoulder. For example, before correcting when parking, when you leave a priority road to the front or when you drive in a narrow street after parked cars back to the right edge. So in short: Apart from curves almost always!
      This sounds complex but it is quite simple if you turn your head automatically without thinking. Like most driving instructors I train my students at the beginning of their education to perform a " view " - sequence, which includes the shoulder view. This is repeated so often until the driving student uses it automatically without having to think about it. So he always does it and can concentrate on other things in traffic.
      I hope I could answer your question. Best regards Dario

    @Fahrlingo I really like your videos and need your help here.
    In my exam I was driving slow. I got confused when the 30 zone ends and I was driving at 30 even on 50 lane.
    1. Can you please help, if there is a trick to find how the 30 zone ends. If there is no new speed limit shield like 50 ?

    • @fahrlingo
      @fahrlingo  Рік тому +5

      Thanks for your input! I will add speed signs to my list, even though your case is a bit complicated. A 30 zone ends with a gray sign with the 30 crossed out. If you miss this sign because it is covered, for example, there is in fact no more sign to remind you that you have to drive faster again. Good tips are hard to give, because you simply can't miss signs. What you can do if you suspect that you have missed it is to ask: War das 30 Zone Ende Schild verdeckt? - Was the 30 zone end sign covered? If you are lucky you will have a helpful examiner who will answer you. In the worst case you will not get an answer, but trying to ask will not hurt you. Sorry that I can not come up with something better. With proper training you will find it step by step easier to focus on the crucial road signs. I wish you all the best for the next try! Don´t give up hope... All the best Dario
