"Highlights," is a series that focuses on small, or underrated pieces of art that are worth taking a deeper look at. In this premiere episode of Highlights, we're going to be examining a shot from the Tech Noir scene in the 1984 film, The Terminator.
I do not own any of the music or visuals used in this video.
Hi everyone! Welcome to the first episode of Highlights! I hope you enjoy these breakdowns, and if you decide to subscribe, hit the bell icon 🔔 or UA-cam won’t notify you when I upload! :(
Can you make a video on a Kung Fu Panda music piece?
@@KFP_Fanboy I have yet to see those films 😔 But I’ve heard good things about the music so I’ll take a look at them when I can!
@@artloverivy Kung Fu Panda 3 is the greatest film ever. And the music of the three films were made by Hans Zimmer and John Powell.
Really loved this idea of yours please continue this in future and more breakdowns on the movie music too..
And if you could do a breakdown on John wick's music too then I would be really grateful to you..❤️
@@shoaibhussain8858 I haven’t yet watched John Wick but I’ll pay attention to the music when I do. And don’t worry there’s more music breakdowns coming 😊
Another detail I forgot to point out is how the lighting prevents us from seeing the Terminator’s eyes. If the eyes are the windows to the soul, then the shot is showing us that he doesn’t have one.
glad i found your channel 🌹
Aww thank you! I’m gonna hold onto that rose 💁🏻♀️🌹
Man do I love the Terminator series. Even though the recent films are dogshit, T1 and T2: Judgement Day will always stand out as some of the most creative and action packed movies ever. Cameron sure took his time to carve how a cold machine with no grasp on human morals would feel and look on screen.
And the soundtrack, like, I felt my heart jump up to my throat whenever the T-1000 theme played In the movie. That thing was terrifying.
You can also very subtly hear the metallic "Dun...Dun..." bell sound of the score fading in as the Terminator passes. I hate how this film is often thought of as just another Arnie B-movie, but it has such care and talent behind it.
I just noticed that when Sarah stops being the subject and the Terminator shows up, a person passes by in the foreground, and another one passes by when the Terminator leaves and Sarah becomes the subject again. It's like a transition
Nice detail!
I discovered your channel a few weeks ago from the musical masterpiece videos, but every video you make is great, keep it up!
Thank you 😊
Let’s go here early thanks for all of your hard work!
Thank you Isaac 😊💖
This channel is a masterpiece
I would really love to see your analysis on snyder's superman's theme
I was always mesmerized by this shot don't know why today I know why thanks to you.
This channel is amazing. Please continue to upload. Your amount of subscribers will explode
Hi Ivy, I have a question. Are you currently working in the film industry? I’m curious because you seem so in tune with the art of film! (I’m an aspiring actor myself. I’m working on getting into some classes)
Yup! I’m working on becoming a writer director, and doing AC and G&E gigs in the meantime 💁🏻♀️🎥
Your reviews are amazing, great job.
Thank you 😊
i recently found out about your channel bcz of the thanos video and all your videos are amazing . subscribed .
Thank you so much 💖
Make a video explaining about soundtrack of the Incredible Hulk (2008) please! I love that calm and menacing soundtrack at the same time.
hey, I enjoy your commentaries a lot. Out of curiosity, do you also compose your own music? and do you plan on making some videos on game music in the future, too?
It’s a bit harder to talk about game music, but there’s certainly a lot of great art to discuss in gaming so I’ll definitely do my best to include the games I love in future content. And no I don’t make music I’m not that talented 😂 I am beginning to write and work on movies though.
That's amazing good work.
What's the music that's being played
Edit, Song: burning in the third degree
Can u check out the main theme of Nui from kill la kill? It depicts her so very well. Thank you for your content!
Do you watch movies or get some clips? You're a pro and chad if you watch full movies to find scenes (but you could also probably remember certain movie scenes or thought of this stuff awhile back)
I’ve always loved this scene, but if I ever run out of stuff to talk about I’ll have to scour the internet for new content 😂
@@artloverivy We here for u homie, millions of people who watched lots of movies who can help u for sure :D
By the way IF you want to gain a large number of audience then you should watch Veritasium's videos of “How to go Viral" and “Clickbait is unreasonably effective" both of these videos explore how the algorithm works but don't worry it's not as cheap and morally wrong method as you might be thinking after hearing the word “Clickbait" he says in the video himself that there is some benefit to the creator which they may didn't even thought of when making a thumbnail though I won't spoil the fun you should watch it for yourself but I think having large audience may bring toxicity and hate into this community so it's on you to decide whether you want it or not
What I’ve been doing seems to be working out so far. If it ever stops then I guess I’ll check out some helpful videos, but as of right now I prefer to just be myself and not “chase” after views. It’s much nicer when it just happens naturally.
Plase do Batman The dark knight
1:40 AMONG US
I fucking knew someone was going to say this 😭
@@artloverivy lmao, nice vid btw really add more variation for your channel
Hey, I really liked your Musical Masterpiece videos, any chance more coming out soon?
Yes I’m working on Shang-Chi’s theme :)
@@artloverivy plz, work on Captain Marvel Trailer song.
@@artloverivy hi trom Brazil
@@artloverivy My mate, youre doing great. Dont rush yourself by the way, youre doing an amazing job by sharing us your love for art and we love it. But i know its kinda stressful sometimes so, take your breaths if you need them and you time and space. Best wishes to you.
@@hectoremanuelbrandan4126 Thanks for understanding 😊
Wow, pretty cool! Haven’t watched the terminator movies but this scene looked like it had a lot of thought put into it. Nice analysis 👍
Honestly it doesn’t matter too much if you’ve seen it. You don’t really need to know the entire story to understand what’s being done in the shot 👍🏼
Yeah! Another Upload! Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the support :)
I. Love. This. Channel. Subbed a week ago and I’m so looking forward to more content like this. 😍 Completely onboard with your take on how this scene was composed. I love it and I love the whole Technoir sequence (Techn0ir used to be my gamer tag on Xbox 360 🙈). And by the way, fcking great job on the editing for this video! The way you’ve looped the scene using a long fade effect, clearly to maintain the feel of the scene itself, with the track constantly playing throughout, then seamlessly bringing the song back to its correct position in sync with the scene without any noticeable cut! Just 💋👌🏻
YOOO I’m so glad you noticed the editing with the song cuz that was such a hassle 😂 Thanks for the comment and for subbing to the channel, I’m looking forward to having you here 💁🏻♀️💖
I can only imagine 😂 literally I was watching and enjoying the scene and seeing your comments but all the while I was like “shit this editing is actually unreal!” Looking forward to seeing more of your stuff 👏🏻
Nice
bro you have a nice videos, you can make, ¿¿why harvey two-face by Hans Zimmer is a masterpiece??
new sub
Hi, could you please do "Flight" from Man of Steel?
as an aspiring filmmaker this vid is great! i really like this format. looking forward to ur next post.
I'm going to enjoy this series too, this channel is gold
Gracias por traducir el video
I Coulda sworn this scene was at a farther angle wear he walks by scanning 0:18
i feel like im having one of those mandella effect situations
1:38 My god, you didn't have to scare me with those Captions
Terminator ain’t exactly a cheerful movie 😂
@@artloverivy I know, but d***mn
I never watched Terminator Movie
I Think for more views you should focus on famous music content like you did in Electro and Mysterio
I won’t stop doing music breakdowns, but theres a lot more to art than Marvel music, so that won’t be the only kind of video I post here.
Best of luck sista i hope you will remember me when you get famous😄
We’ll see if I’m that lucky. But either way I truly appreciate the positivity 💖
Keep doing👍
Feel sad that 1k people unsubscribed :-( I knew a bit something like that would happen if you made different types of videos every month or so
Idk what stats you’re looking at, but the number never went down, and certainly not by a whole ass 1K 😂
@@artloverivy at the time I commented it was 13.9k but later on it went back to 14k so as of now I have no evidence to prove it 😂
Ok maybe I said wrong it wasn't whole 1k
@@The-qw3iz It’s all chill. I appreciate your concern for the channel 😊
more spiderman songs plz
They’re coming don’t worry. It’s just gonna take time for me to work on them.
Bro pls do why green goblin theme (TASM 2) is a masterpiece
