Hello my friend. I have watched many, many laser YT videos. Yours, this one is by far the most thorough I have seen. Thank you for taking the time to make it. I am going to subscribe and of course like this video and if you have many others I will be watching and liking them to. Thanks again and GOD bless!!
You're the go-to guy online who really seems to know his stuff about laser engravers/cutters-could you do a review on the LaserPecker LX1? My wife has a flower farm and sells from a cart in front of our house and at local events. She's always needing signage. The LX1 has a module into which you can insert a chalk marker-that could be awesome for us. I also think there will be times when I want to engrave text on wood for signage. Just want to make sure I'm not missing a cheaper alternative that could do the job just as well.
Oh yea, I used to work for a company that did precision laser cutting, drilling, skiving, micro-vias and occasionally engraving. We had machines in the hundreds of thousands of dollars range, even a few into a million dollar range. ESI was a brand, from China I believe, that we had that did UV lasers. Another was the Excellon Cobra which had both UV and CO2 in 1 machine so you could cut/skive/drill with one and do a finish pass with the other. Or a multilayer panel with different materials like copper and dielectric. Cool stuff. Have been thinking about getting a laser engraver for some product ideas I have
I'm interested in working with lasers. One question I wished you had addressed is consumables. Do the diodes have a limited lifespan? How about the CO2 tubes as well? I know you mentioned upgrading the diodes so I'm assuming that's a DYI project and if your diode is 'dead' you can order a replacement. How about replacing the CO2 tube? Are there any other parts that may wear out? Thanks.
Not sure if you ever found your answer but a 60w co2 fiber laser tube is going to give you roughly 1500 hrs of use before it might need replacing, an 80w should give you roughly 6,000 hours of use
Great video! I've found the Atomstack X20 Pro to be my go-to diode laser for the past couple of months as I've mostly been cutting thin plywood and MDF and the included air assist gets really clean cuts. I'm looking forward to trying out the Gweike Cloud since you've had good things to say about it. It seems like their name is pronounced "g veek", I found an employee video where they were all pronouncing it this way.
@@makeorbreakshop looked at the AtomStack too. Do you have videos recommending products? I don’t care a ton about cutting, really want a good engraving machine. Hard to choose between multi-diode machines and CO2
Just got my XTool D1 Pro 10w and Lightburn is a headache to use. I’ll set the dimensions of the work and frame it and everything is good. But when I try to engrave the diode starts half an inch off of the material and the image comes out about an inch smaller than the dimensions on the screen. I have none of these problems with the software XTool included with the laser though.
Does this mean that with this new laser head, I could engrave successfully on stainless steel? I'm looking for a somewhat budget friendly laser for engraving jewlery. And I am interested in the X-Tool, but up until reading your comment I thought I would have to go for a fiber laser. Do you have a link for this new laser head?? Thank you!
question please as for the printer machine we know that it need for the ink , what about the laser machine do they need for some thing like that monthly or as need?

we are ready to order the 20 w pro machine..is there a difference in the gray machine from the red machine? If i order an extension table, do i need to order 2 honeycomb sheets...Does the software come with the machine? what all would you order for this machine? Can someone please help with these questions....what is the difference between the metal risers and the wood riser blocks?
So, I’m a woman and I have a business where I do wood work but I am very much not electronic savvy. I have a scroll saw, table saw, miter saw, router, dremel, jig saw/ basically everything but a CNC machine. What work we do is resin art and wood work for home decor. What would be the best user friendly but cuts what we need? I’m wanting more of a wood cutter and not an engraver. Yes? That would be a plus, but I’m wanting to cut words/fonts out of wood and put it on other items to paint or resin. (ie- welcome sign). Clearly I don’t need 7k+ type machine so what would you suggest for someone that does my line of work at home?
Hi, which budget machine would you recommend for a small jewellery business for personalising words onto small 5/8” sterling silver and gold round discs and oval curved vials?
Love these reviews, but would like to have your opinion on a laser that is portable and fast. I am looking for a laser to put in my craft show trailer. My main pourpose would be for engraving anodized aluminum minimalist wallets, flasks and tumblers. I currently have an XTool D1. I was going to use it, but it takes it around 10 minutes to do a wallet and I want this time frame brought down. So, I am thinking a fiber may be the best choice....but I also want to keep it sub-$2000 if possible. It will be powered using a gas powered generator and will be in an enclosed area (meaining out of spectator viewing range - but still well ventilated). Thoughts?
I'm new to this. I'm a hobbyist woodworker and it seems clear that a diode machine will be what I want. But I still have so many questions. What does air assist do? What wattage would I want and what difference does power make (speed?). What software is most common and will I have to spend money on that? Can the software run on an ipad (don't have a laptop)? How long do diodes last and what do they cost to replace? Can I run these in a cold environment (think garage in Minnesota in the winter)?
Thanks for the video. Do you have a recommendation for a mixed laser cutting machine that can cut 48”x36” pieces of wood and metal. I was looking at the StyleCNC models. Please send an affiliate link if you do. Thanks.
Very nice video, one thing to mention though... Maybe I missed it, but I think it's very important to mention that diode machines can't cut transparent materials like clear acrylic and co2 ones can.
5 watt will work but really slow so don't go too cheap. I have an Atomstack 10watt and love it. I bought mine just before they came out with the air assist but did get the rotary for just over $1000. I like the look of the X Tool rotary system though. Maybe thinking I can modify mine to work like X Tool's.
I have a feeling if anyone knows the answer to this question. Its you.... Are there any Laser EXPOS? walk around see all them in one setting. Hands on experience. Face to face 1 on 1 Q&A.
There a company called aeon, they sell laser, and in their warehouse they have the most of the laser of the market and you can compare with their laser, I own an aeon laser and is my best investment ever.
Yea, Expos are the way to go. Especially when looking at big buck stuff. If I spend 15,000 on a machine I want to see it in person, try it out and talk to a representative that is an expert on it. Thanks for the information. I have watched many of your videos over the past year as and happy to see that X-tool now makes an enclosure for their diode product. I haven't had a place to have an open laser and worried about odor and such in the house and safety of the laser. X-tool fixed both of those problems. Looking for advice here. I need a laser cutter that can cut 1” foam (packing material) that is less than 7”x7”. If it could also efficiently cut .118” acrylic, that would be a huge +++! The cheaper and easier to use the better.
I wonder if a BL Touch from the 3D printing world could be added to a CO² laser. Once calibrated and outer dimensions specified it could perfectly dial in the focal point.
Good video with a lot of good information. Have an Ortur LM2 20 watt and it has been good. Looking at Monport K40 that is LightBurn ready, they are taking preorders for it now.
I have the FoxAlien Masuter Pro, I have the 40W laser with it but thankfully they're super powerful giving a 10W output.. Not many others do that on a 40W..
Hi Brandon came across your video and would like to know what would you suggest for a beginner at using laser. I create O scale dioramas and want to design and cut my own buildings. Great video but still not sure which Laser cutter that I need.
that's not an easy question to answer. In order to answer that, we need to ask you some questions. One of the bigger questions to ask is what size of a work space are you going to need to make these cut-out buildings and what kind of material (including thickness) are you using. The other big question is what is your budget? He kind of breifly mentioned the K40 as a caviot, and as a matter of fact, he took it out of the CO2 budget catagory for some reason (I guess because of the work space size) but the one thing he DIDN'T mention about it is that you can get one for under $500 USD. Yes it doesn't support the lightburn software, but you can get an upgrade controller board for aroung $150 and upgrade it yourself. The other thing I would mention about what he said is that the budget CO2 systems use an aquarium type of water system which simply means that (in the case of the K40) they come with a small pump that you put into a bucket of water to keep the tube cool, BUT!! there is no reason you can't get a chiller for any of these CO2 systems and put the aquarium pump back into your fish tank. I bought my OMTech 6L CW5200 chiller at the same time as my OMTech K40 laser and it was only a little more than the K40 it's self, coming in at around $525. The great thing I love about the K40 is they are very popular, so there are lots of upgrades you can get. I did get some other upgrade parts to make mine a 60W system because i'm going to be making cut out parts (similar to what I imagine your buildings will be like) out of 3mm acrylic (basically pexi glass) and I don't think the 40W system can quite handle it, so I'm prepared to upgrade if need be. So Let's compare buying a 60W larger system at (I think right now they are running around $3000) to an upgraded 40W system in terms of cost. the base K40 is around $475. controller board is around $150 60W laser tube is around $240 power supply is around $140 for a total of around $1000 compared to the $3000 for the 60W out of the box system. (I actually got an 80W power supply because the 60W wasn't available at the time I purchased mine) Yes one of the big disadvantages to the K40 is it's workspace size, and that's why I asked at the start of this: how big of parts do you need to make. I know O scale is much larger than H or even HO, but I don't know how you have your buildings designed or what construction method you are using for construction. I would GUESS that you are going to make them out of 1/8" plywood (or something similar) and will use some kind of finger joints to put them together (I would hope you are not going to just butt them together, but that's not my call)
Good evening! I really enjoyed this video. I think I am going to go purchase one of the xtool products. I am completely new and want to make sure I have something easy to use and not $$$$$$$. Is there a specific one you like for newbies? Also, how do I purchase thru their website so you get credit?

Atomstack is comming with a fibre laser head for about 500 dollars, will you do a review on it?
Looking for advice here. I need a laser cutter that can cut 1” foam (packing material) that is less than 7”x7”. If it could also efficiently cut .118” acrylic, that would be a huge +++! The cheaper and easier to use the better.
I wonder if a BL Touch from the 3D printing world could be added to a CO² laser. Once calibrated and outer dimensions specified it could perfectly dial in the focal point.
Have you looked at any RF metal tube lasers?
Any thoughts on the Epilog CO2 lasers particularly the pro series 36 inch? And also 60 w fiber from Tykma any feedback would be appreciated
Epilog is top of the line, super nice. Haven’t messed with the Tykma
Good video with a lot of good information. Have an Ortur LM2 20 watt and it has been good. Looking at Monport K40 that is LightBurn ready, they are taking preorders for it now.
Atomstack x20 Pro or xTool D1 Pro which one do you recommend guys?
I want buyer Neje laser machine
Do you think is good brand
Can one of the diode lasers like the Xtool 20w mark on polymers (like polypropylene)?
Or that only the fiber (raycus style) and CO2?
So Let's compare buying a 60W larger system at (I think right now they are running around $3000) to an upgraded 40W system in terms of cost.
the base K40 is around $475.
controller board is around $150
60W laser tube is around $240
power supply is around $140
for a total of around $1000 compared to the $3000 for the 60W out of the box system.
(I actually got an 80W power supply because the 60W wasn't available at the time I purchased mine)
Yes one of the big disadvantages to the K40 is it's workspace size, and that's why I asked at the start of this: how big of parts do you need to make. I know O scale is much larger than H or even HO, but I don't know how you have your buildings designed or what construction method you are using for construction. I would GUESS that you are going to make them out of 1/8" plywood (or something similar) and will use some kind of finger joints to put them together (I would hope you are not going to just butt them together, but that's not my call)
what is best Machine C02 or Fiber Lasser?
Do you have any thoughts on the JTech 14w laser module add-on to existing CNCs like a Shapeoko?
Looking for a laser to cut thru SST .062 thk. any suggestions. thanks
Good evening! I really enjoyed this video. I think I am going to go purchase one of the xtool products. I am completely new and want to make sure I have something easy to use and not $$$$$$$. Is there a specific one you like for newbies? Also, how do I purchase thru their website so you get credit?
