    Why is there even a question about this? Looks like he missed the pass and it went in. Happens all the time.
    Sorry about your bad luck Tony but that's foosball.

    The wall counts as a man twice. (I'm not current on the rules, but the wall used to count as a separate man up to 2 times per possession).

      I'm not sure what you mean by the wall counts as a man twice. The rule is, you can hit the wall 3 times, but on the 3rd time it must be advanced immediately. There has been some fairly recent changes to the rules on this topic though. If while on the 5 bar, the ball becomes "trapped" against the wall, assuming it wasn't the 3rd hit, you can now use as many walls as necessary to get the ball off it. And I believe it will count as only one wall once its cleared off of it. However once its cleared off of it, the ball must strike 2 men before you can advance it. This was an awesome change that was a long time coming.

      Even if the ball touched 3 bar (and I clearly see it didn't) there would be no way it could be treated as an illegal pass, because ricochet ("Contact" in terms of ITSF rules) cannot be considered as a controlled transition, so there was no pass at all. Tony had no chance to change the ruling on the table with that challenge

    Can anyone tell me if there is a good place to go to find a players stats? How many tournaments have they won, and when? Things like that. Is there a site that has all that? Because I've looked and I can't find anything even close to what I'm looking for.

      Yeah. I'd think that it would be easy for the tech guys to accomplish the gathering of lifetime stats with a few pushes of a few buttons.lol

      This is what's missing in this sport. Having stats makes matches more compelling to the average viewer. It would be nice to know players stats and records against top players before the matches start. Also in game stats like serves, possessions on the three bar, steals and saves. eg. when announcing players Loffredo vs Moore tell us their pro record: 1233 wins 150 losses vs 20 wins 5 losses lifetime. It's like baseball. The more history you know the more invested you get.

      @@ja.sr.6133 No one said it would be easy. It may be very difficult. In some cases, impossible. You do what you can. What's most important and easy, is to start doing them now.

    IMHO The last point took advantage of a hole in the rules. The ball was properly put into play. However, the ball banked against the wall using the end player and then shot by the same man. The rules do not address this situation. The rules do state you can't advance the ball if the same man hits the ball twice. Man, wall, and same man is not addressed. Many of the 1980's players used this technique along with pinning the ball to change it's direction before a quick wall pass. The rules need to be more specific. It is unfortunate Brandon used this technique to win such an important match. However, he is a smart player and he used the hole in the rules to win the singles championship.

      I think Tony was reluctant to lose .. really an odd ending to the match but would assume Tony is still salty.

    • @lucasbonastre2529
      @lucasbonastre2529 Рік тому +11

      This is completely off, the restriction on the ball(either pinned, stopped or adjusted) is to be passed from 5 to 3 or 2 to 5, there is no restriction to shoot on goal. Furthermore, the restriction of adjusted man specifically applies to any contact on the front or back of the figure, so even if it was a pass would be completely legal (not only legal but commonly used by elite players Atha, Hundstorfer, Collignon)
