This all started with a Burberry denim top from their most recent collection. Their top is super low on the sides, which I LOVE, but knew I wouldn't be able to wear it too often.
So I tweaked the overall design into a top that I knew I could wear like crazy all year long!
TIP - Use stretch denim to make this DIY even easier. You will be able to make this super tight and it will automatically hug your curves.
If you're super skilled at tailoring, then a 100% cotton jacket will be totally fine. It will just require a few more darts and tweaks to make it hug your body.

The end result is totally very suave and you did a good job on getting this vest done. It hard to find denim jackets that fit me so well. I am just not the one to cut these types of jackets up. This would be something that would pull around and gap the chest for more endowed ladies. Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and all in the days to come.

One thing that o do when I need to re do the hem line of my jeans is I just double thread, like the bobbin as usual but the thread on top I usually have two just to give the effect of a thicker line and it looks sooo good

I'm just wondering about your decision to simply overlap the back over the front and track it down. I think I would like the traditional seam from the armpit straight down. Please share your designer thoughts on that. Thanks!

SO Cool! Such a versatile piece. Esp ❤ how the sleeve belt reminds me of how I used to tie a sweater, jkt, etc around my waist it the 70s/80s. Now I'll be scouring GW for .99 denim jkts. I often come across itty bitty ones but rarely in the larger sizes, esp stretchy. ;( Let the hunt begin?!
