Hey Steve, after watching all your videos I worked on an oil furnace that ran out of oil and had been sitting unused for 6 years. Knowing absolutely nothing about oil furnaces before, I was able to replace all filters, gaskets, burner nozzle, clean out the tank and oil lines, and perform routine maintenance and actually got it running without much trouble. Now I have heat! Thanks for everything. One of the best ideas you have is using the gloves.
Thanks a lot Steve for showing oil furnace stuff I always wanted to be a master at the oil heat. I moved to texas from ohio after school and never got to really work on them I been back in ohio for about 4 years now and found no company in town wants to work on them not even mine. i learned a lot about them in HVAC school but not a whole lot. I wached a few of your oil videos and i have the confidence to go do a complete service and repair on them. Thanks Steve. I am now a subscriber and look forward to more videos.
The Gain Apparatus is one of my favorite of the many things Steve has on The Truck! When he blows some nasty smeg out of the lines, it makes a satisfying "thunk" in the Gain Apparatus.
thats a great video. showing how the filters to catch everything. not to mention many people probably dont know about the filter in the pump. and condemn the pump.
That's a pretty neat little apparatus you've made for cleaning the oil lines. I thought you were going to use the air compressor, but those little canisters had plenty in them for the job.
Dunkirk (Crown) made a good boiler, love those 2 1/2" side tappings (no more). Installed a few, serviced one recently that I installed (gas) in 1981 still kicking.
Hey Steve, Just looking back on some of your older videos, i do the same, just clean the pumps strainers, nothing wrong with them, but one thing i can't understand, Why do you wear gloves?!! LMAO! Just teasing, i wear them too. Ps: I like your Co2 cartridge rig, i still use the hand pump type which is a pain in the butt. Also, any cooking videos coming back, loved those?
Steven, Love ur vids.. I recently bought a house with an oil boiler in the basement. I noticed that all the pipes were uninsulated and have also noticed that in most if not all ur vds this seems to be a thing. What is your take on insulating the pipes? Thx.
+bajabugnut if you insullate the pipe use a good fiberglass or it could melt the foam stuff will melt to the pipes if they get to hot. myself i would not waist my time with that .
+Donald Hawkes oil is a nasty fuel but its been getting better over the years . there is usally a lot of muck in bottom of tanks sludge . like black mud
Great video! As a homeowner and somewhat handy guy I enjoy watching how quality work should be done! The Co2 device is great! Does it have a technical (official ) name?
+George Horn III not sure i believe its a oil blow out gun .i will have to look it up next time i am at the oil burner supply house they have them there for sale .
It makes a lot more sense to me to blow the sludge out into a container rather than back into the tank never understood why guys do that other than there is no , or low risk of a mess.
+Alfredo Gonzalez that container works well for catching the oil

This guy does a good video Not a step by step by the manual just common everyday professional guy doing job. Can anyone tell me how a .85 80 a nozzle is correct for a Peerless WB 04 150 which calls for a 1.25, be correct?
+Eagle Mechanical Hvac/Refrigeration i have mine custom made at a print shop . you can get any color tags you want .and put on there what ever you want to .
Experience shows how to tell when the pump screen is clean or dirty. I'm sure you get a lot of negative comments on why you didn't intsall a new one. "See what he did Momma? He just cleaned the old one Momma! They told me in school always replace the pump screen Momma!
+Brad1237202 i have them in the truck .sometimes its just easyer to clean them if i have a bucket of oil right there just switch it around in oil and its good as new
CO2 a little on the low side, too much excess air. But I know why you do it, less cleaning of the boiler required next time, but efficiency down a few percent. You're not paying for the oil right!! If you got the CO2 up to around 12-13% you would have to check the smoke number. I notice in your videos you never take the burner off to clean out the combustion chamber.

Great video Steve. Your self made apparatuses are awesome. I like the co2, they are convenient and fast for simple plug ups, in many situations.
+mitchellpurelife it works well
Thanks a lot Steve for showing oil furnace stuff I always wanted to be a master at the oil heat. Mr Teddy is going to need more than a high spin in the washer to get the oil out of his fur from playing in the oil bucket!
+Dwight Bennett lol mr teddy is in mamas basement and never works ,just gives thumbs down to the real working men in the field .
