Nice! I have owned this for a couple weeks and loving it. NSA 47.2g slugs shoot better than the FX, and go in a lot easier too. I will try some heavier NSA slugs to get those big power numbers!
Turn the hammer spring all the way down for pellets it shoots 44.5 grains at 875 fps at minimum power, and you get 6 mags on the regulator instead of 3 at high power. Amazing accuracy and its like 2 guns in 1.

Great video! I'm seriously looking at getting one in 30.
I have a G2 in .22 that I like, but it's not without its issues.
The first one I got was a leaker and had to go back.
The second one holds air fine.
The issue with this one is, EVERY SINGLE SCREW WAS LOOSE ON IT OUT OF THE BOX!
The setscrew for the bolt handle was loose too, and the bolt was flopping around in the breeze.
I tightened everything up, or so I thought. I just came back from shooting the other day and the back
scope rail was loose too! No wonder my groups opened up.
I tightened it up and used some Loctite on the screws.
If you buy one of these G2's go over every screw and make sure they are tight.
Other than that I like the gun. Great power and shot count. Pretty accurate when the screws are tight.

  • @safakaswedishairgunforum-n1490

Its very visible and clear that the riffle has a barrel designed for pellets, not slugs. Thats why it could shoot the hybrids much more grouped than the others. The hybrid is a ”pellet” designed as a slug to shoot well in pellet barrels. Thanks for nice video and excellent shooting 😃👍🔫🇸🇪

I own the Gauntlet 1 in .25 and I love it. I’d have to say the only thing I don’t like about the Gauntlets is I’d rather have a side lever cocking handle. When the 2 came out, I’d owned my 1 for a few months and thought to myself, hmmm if it comes out in .30, I’m all in. I was about ready to pull the trigger on an AEA Pro, not anymore. Gonna order this as soon as their in stock. Awesome video, thank you for the time you take on these videos.

Good video, 2 questions: never hear you say anything about cleaning the barrel, a little info on that would be great; and it looks like it hurt a couple of times closing the side lever, what exactly was it doing to your hand?

    • @rickeutsler3814
      @rickeutsler3814 2 роки тому +1

Hey there Shawn. On the cleaning side things, I shoot the guns as I get them. I want to know how they will perform out of the box. As I work with them, after my initial tests, I look at the regular maintenance that may be required. These guns are very easy to work on re cleaning the barrel and I'll probably do a tutorial on the process. But, you really only need to do that if accuracy is not already there or becomes erratic. That's a controversial statement, but it's been my experience that if it aien't broke, don't go try and fix it. That's shooting and reviewing hundreds of airguns over 15+ years.
Back when I started, things were different. Many of the Chinese airgun barrels were just awful. They would not shoot without a lot of work. Things have gotten a lot better.
As for the "workout..." Yeah, I about got a bruse on my hand from loading those slugs into the breach. You can make them go in there, but it's hard on you. I would like to see if someone could cut the rifling back just a fraction to let the slugs load more easily. Not sure if that would ruin things or not, but it would sure make loading easier.
      Cheers
      AGW

@@rickeutsler3814 bad advice, clean all the barrels. That's not maintenance. Every new gun has all sorts of crap in it from sitting around with oil in the barrel to prevent rust. You're forcing that gunk down the barrel so your accuracy tests are really showing which manufacturer has a cleaner storing process

Sounds like the chamber throat needs lengthened, nothing a throating reamer won't fix (essentially a tapered reamer that goes from groove size, to bore size). Some guys rent a proper reamer from places like 4D, others use various T-handle reamers available online for chamfering holes, some use abrasive stones in a Dremel (be very careful with this one). It's an issue on high performance guns, like the Airforce Texan, and even in firearms. In firearms, a chambering is generally going to be shot with a particular length/shape of bullet, and the standardized cartridge has maximum over all length, once you get outside of that, you need to change the throating on the barrel to accommodate what you're doing. Most airgun companies don't really know what you're going to be shooting out of it, so they go for a "compromise" throat: one that works well with pellets, but can be made to work with bullets

Just a thought Rick, but have you ever given any thought to trying to put up some type of wind break? You seem to so often have wind issues that are directly impacting your ability to evaluate accuracy! You have well established yourself as one of the better "go to" authority on airgun insight and information !
Just me thinking out loud for a minute Rick, may not be something even practical to try, but I have frequently wondered if we could make that a reality, how much it would directly impact your accuracy, not to mention your videos !

I’ve looked into some options. If we can raise the funds I want to put in a 50 yard shade cloth tunnel using prefab carports. At 20’ each we will need a bunch of them, secure them properly, and then cover them. If it works, it will solve the problem. Also, I’ll run lights and be able to shoot at night which would be cool. I guess we’ll see.

rick absolutely not! DO NOT tell the manufacturer to move the rifling back. thats literally the only way we can tell if the slug is a proper fit every time we cycle the bolt, this is not a semi auto dude! i really hate it when people think they have ideas to improve something when the reality is their ideas would make it worse! if you experts would learn the diameters of your barrels and resize all your ammo like you are supposed to even a noob like me has done this since day one........man you guys sure are the smart ones ey. most days its literally painful for me to see the ignorance of others.

    • @nicedward7544

Pretty much every barrel has a leade. This barrel does not. Jamming ammo into the rifleing with the bolt probe can deform ammo and screw with accuracy. You want air to actually get it into the grooves. The real way to measure your barrel has nothing to do with just using the bolt to load in the round... You really should push a pellet in a few inches and pour molten lead into it and push it all the way through the barrel.

@@nicedward7544 well my friend as it turns out i cast and sell ammo very successfully. ill have you know that resizing your ammo properly will allow you to feel the rifling without it being too tight. omg do people even listen? i literally already said this in my comment you replied to. example my avenger .25 is actually a .247 and likes .248 and .249 for a little more aggressive spin. at .250 it starts being a pretty tight fit. there's absolutely no possible way you damage your bolt probe when you properly size your ammo. not resizing it is how you mess it up buddy thanks though at least you tried.
