YES PLEASE!!!...on the video of any 'safe' trigger adjustments an owner like myself can make. 🙂I have the bolt version and actually like these big sturdy bolt actions.....re the Hatsan BT65 Carnivore. I have that in SL but really wanted an SB, but it wasn't available. The gun is EXCELLENT for the money and with a Donny Fat Boy moderator not too bad. It's one of my favourites ....and I have Air Arms...FTP900....TDR S510....aswell as Steyr rifles. I LOVE the stock...if it was slightly rubberised, it'd be perfect....very futuristic and cool though. Greetings from Spain! 🙂
How bad is the noise? Ear protection, and getting the cops called if you live in a city? I really want this air rifle, but if I can't shoot it at paper in my backyard, I might as well put the money into another handgun, or maybe a shotgun this time...
I have the bolt action version and I shoot this gun more than anything else. I use the .357 Donny FL ronin with the extender and it’s insanely quiet. It sounds soooo cool too. Like something outta the movies.
I picked up a gen1 in .25 on sale and its alright, not as good as either of my Avengers but the SL30 is a whole different animal!!! Luckily my backyard range is about 45 yards but planning on extending it just for this rifle.
I bought two brand new SL 30s both of them leak they have a lot of work to do these would be excellent guns but when they don't hold air they're pretty much worthless!!!😢
Hi, I have seen several good reviews on this platform, and I would likely buy one if they offered a different stock, even if it was more money, I very much dislike that green stock, not even crazy about a black synthetic type either, I would be a lot more premium looking with a nice wood or laminate stock of some sort, options are always good. Nice review, keep up the great work.
LOL…That’s the whole reason I haven’t jumped on this one too, besides the lack of side-lever in the 1st version. Even if they dropped it back into the Gauntlet 1 stock. I painted any tricked mine out, and although it’s heavy it’s nice looking and comfortable to shoot.
I have the 1st Gen Gauntlet in .25. Bought it, I think, within a month or 2 of its release. It was my first PCP. Then came the Avenger. Now I do really like my Gen 1. But I’ll tell you the accuracy, light weight, and side lever on the Avenger just ruined it. When the 1st generation of the Gauntlet 2 came out I got excited until I saw the bolt again, and the stock. And honestly, I know it weighed more, but I really liked the other stock WAAAAY more than this one, at least as far as looks goes, can’t talk to its fit to me. I have VERY PATIENTLY waited for Air Venturi to come out with a .30…..doesn’t look like that’s gonna happen. I really like the looks of the JTS, sweet wood stock, and the McCavity Arms in .30, but they just don’t have the speed and the thump of the Gauntlet, and now it has the side lever. So unless McCavity comes out with the more powerful one I’ve heard about, AND it’s as accurate as the current version, or I’ll be buying this, and dropping it into a Buck-Rail stock. I’m sorry to sound like I’m settling, I guess I kind of am, but everything about this gun screams performance and accuracy, especially for the price, I guess it’s more of an aesthetics thing for me I guess. Great review, although it did take a stretch to get to the lead slinging.
Did Rick forget to review the trigger and its adjustability? I hate the trigger on my gen1 Gauntlet (very long travel and creep, and not easy to adjust) and want to know how the SL30's trigger is. I am guessing it has a good trigger from the accurate shots it made all the way out to 100yds.
Today's most quality pellets shoot fine up to 1,060fps or below the speed of sound. My 2 Air Force Condors .25 cal. shoot 31gr very accurately at 1,040-1050fps and JSB 34gr at 1,020fps. Also the JSB King 25.4 shoots great well above 1k fps. One day I shot a Polymag Predator 16gr out of my Condor .22 and I got a little supersonic "crack" from the muzzle (with aftermarket shroud) when I forgot to turn down the power after shooting 21gr. I put it through the Chrono and they were shooting @ 1,075 which is the speed of sound, and it still the hit the Starling dead center at 30+ yards and then the 10 ring on paper. That surprised me, but when I dialed the power down and Polymags were shooting 1030fps they were a little more accurate which was expected at subsonic velocities. Also my Diana 350 .177 shoots most mid-weight pellets in the mid-high 900's and light RWS and H&N pellets @ 1k fps with no apparent effect in accuracy. If we could not shoot pellets accurately >900fps, they would not make the guns powerful enough to achieve higher velocities.
How bout learn to shoot the weapon the way you get and after you become efficient with it out of the box then try making adjustments a week with it out of the box learning the weapon the way it is you won't need adjustments... I own this in .30 cal and there's no reason to mess with it even my HP max which begs for adjustments is best learned as is

My Umarex Gauntlet SL30, I use the Griffin 65 grain slugs and get `120 FPE and very accurate averaging 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards.

Sweet!
It looks like a modified Origin. I have a Origin and it is a awsome pcp.
I love my origin too. I would've gotten a gauntlet instead if it had a side lever at the time.
Excellent video of a great rifle. I still own the original Gauntlet in 177cal. I've never had one problem with it.

LOVE IT . I have qb 79 and been thinking about this one in 25 or 30.

would love to see a wide variety of slugs and both 50 and 100 yards.
I want a SL .30, cant wait. Thanks for the video
Looking good Rick! One sweet rifle for sure.😊
Thank you

Over 11 minutes till you shoot a single shot man. At the very least warn somebody at the start of the video.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 that's all the time
Right? TED would never do that to us! Lol
Maybe this is the only time he can get anyone to listen to him. Thumbs down after 2 minutes.
RIGHT!😭 All that talking was aggravating as hell!
I enjoy the conversation. It's not like you pay for it and you can always fast forward.
Yea. This rifle is way cool. Would not mind owning one in .25.
I’m also in Texas wish I could see your setup some time.

Thanks Rick. Are slugs still hard to feed/seat with the new side lever ?
Not that I can tell. Totally different. Will do som more testing ;)
Cheers

Thanx
Why do you never test aea guns get your hands on a challenger pro lb 357 or 30 you won't be disappointed crazy accurate
The problem with the slugs loading is that the rifling was all the way to the end the chamber!

It would be really nice to see some slug shots at full power in the sl30!!
It is in the works.

@@AirGunWeb excellent show by the way!
Wow, that speed seams rather fast for a pellet, i thought near 900 fps was the best speed

It is. Any pellet gets unstable above the high 900s - unless you're happy with shotgun patterns.
Hi Rick, thanks for the video. You help me decide to get my gauntlet 30 last year. Just curious about that sidewinder, is that a 56 mm objective?

Enjoyed the video!!! Is there anyway to fill the air tank manually? Like the old Sheridan Pellet rifles you pumped them up for power.
Hey there.. you can get a hand pump that looks like a bike pump. It's a LOT of work, but you can fill your PCP with it.
Cheers
