Excellent way to mount the Y unit. The magnetic scales are the easiest to deal with when needing to cut down. I've no doubt that you are going to make the mounting of the Z unit as simple as the other two. I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I spent the money to get the Z axis scale that Smithy sells and was sorely disappointed in the lack of quality and durability. It was dead as a door nail within 3 weeks of use. The brackets that came with the kit are going to be used for a quill stop that is needed for repeatability. Thanks for taking the time to put these videos together.
Thanks Phil, it's a shame the Smithy dro scale was crappy. I'm really glad I went the route I did, so far so good. Thanks for watching and commenting again.
very wise choice my friend, this is a vary informal video, and well explained ....thank yo sir...waiting for the next one....
Thanks Ray, I appreciate your compliments my friend

You made it look easy!
It really was pretty simple, I'm so glad I got the dro on the machine, instant improvement!
metal chips are the worse enemy of any smooth surface, thats why I said earlier wise choice....of the placement of the sensor....
I figured it would be best to keep it in the cleanest spot possible
