Connection to the side marker does work only when headlights are on. That marker goes off when headlights are off turning running lights off. Where is another location for that wiring?

does this highlander have the collision mitigation system in the bumper? i'm asking because of a possible install to a '23 hybrid. also, is there dusk/evening pics of the lights working?
