- One of the most popular breakfast in Bulgaria is called Mekitsi. Delicious golden brown bread dough, that you can eat with powdered sugar, jam or cheese.

Ingredients for 8-10 servings:
600 g all-purpose flour
200 g Bulgarian yogurt
200 ml lukewarm milk
20 g fresh yeast (1 ½ tsp dry)
1 tsp baking soda
1 egg
1 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp sunflower oil
1 tsp salt
Sunflower oil for deep frying
For serving:
Powdered sugar
Jam
Bulgarian cheese
