Hi everybody, I had not heard much about Bulgarian food before traveling there but WOW! The food in Bulgaria is absolutely amazing! It’s tasty and affordable - I highly recommend 👍😋
You can try to prepare banitsa on your own - it is not so complicated. I would advice to try the variants with spinache and cheese or mushroms and onion (green or classic) . Both are amazing!
1. There are 3 bulgarian dishes in this video - banitza , liutenitza and yogurt. 2. Do not trust restaurants that use bulgarian folk clothing, fire, etc. These are cheaters, believe me as far as i'm 54 year old bugarian . 3. Never buy that Balkan airyan from the video. There is no yogurt! 4. Kebabche is notcovered by anything.😅 5. The original Kavarma is nothing to do with the chiken. 6. Please use trusted sources to choose the wonderful bulgarian food. Be blessed!
Hello from Thailand, just come across your channel and put my comment here.I’m Thai who marry with Bulgarian husband for 18years and I myself cooked Bulgarian foods at home.I can say that you know what you’re talking about and know deeply inside the recipe from each food, very impressive.Bravo on you
I love very much BULGARIAN National food! I love musaka, banitza, surmy, kavyrma, shkembe chorba, shopska salata, kebapche, lukanka, kiselo mlyko and others delicious things!
For Americans, you won’t believe how awesome the döner kabap is. It’s what the gyros you see in America are supposed to be but also has the fries and veggies included inside. Get all the relishes and sauces and try the spicy version. It isn’t hot at all, just more flavorable. You could honestly have it every day and not be disappointed. For variety try the falafel and platters. Try both the chicken and the pork. Some places offer a mix which is even better. The Turkish version has a thicker bread. The Arabian version has lavash bread, similar to a flour tortilla, but they also have plates without the bread. They are all great. Tip: get the medium. You won’t be able to finish the large.
Yummy yummy 😋 All foods looks really delicious, have nice tecture and so appetizing! The plating with the clay pot looks very lovely! What's your favorite? Thanks Janus and greetings from Indonesia 🇮🇩
Howdy, really enjoyed this food video. Oh my the stews looked great, maybe not for the hot summer though. What is an expired license rabbit stew? I always love kabobs and the fresh salads. Thanks again and looks like we are going to be cold this weekend…I’m ready for fall.
Nice video. I am glad you enjoyed food in Bulgarian, but please stop calling e Easterneuropean food. There is no such thing. If there is, it covers countries such as Ukraine Belarus Russia that have a completely different cuisine. Bulgarian food have more in common with Greek and Turkish food, so is Greek food Easterneuropean. If not, why not? The geographical location is the same! P.S. Kebab is a Persian word, so kebab comes from Iran. Cabbage banitsa is possible but extremely rare, so definitely not traditional. We pit various green herbs inside. This type of banitsa us called zelnik, but some people, wrong,it think it is cabbage
@@masubg Its the total oposite, Bugarians are the oldest inhabidents of the Blakans and Europe as it is proven by all DNA tests and bakced by old hystorians as it it is well documented the oldest written language is also found in Varna which is 2000 y older than the Summerian and old Pelasgian is the prototype for Sanscrit so NO turkish and no persian words, but Turkish and persian language have some Bulgarian words that is correct!
Thank you. There are a few vegan options in Bulgaria from what I could tell but it's a bit more tricky to find places. One of the restaurants in Sofia I went to was vegan. They had amazing food!
I have to question about your Food knowledge of good Food. Banitza is ok but not every day, Salat you spice to your liking, Salami is edible but none really good. Yoghurt is a personal Taste. There is some Turkish Influence in Bulgarian Food and also some Foods from Germany and other European Countries now Integrated into there " Traditional Dishes". Turkish Dishes are much better than Bulgarian. Not trying to put Bulgarian Food down, just a Fact. There chocolate filling is horrible, just saying.

I agree, every country has their own dishes and food and influences can happen across countries and regions. Thank you for the additions!
a lot of "turkish" words in bulgarian language are actualy persian and bulgaria was part of the persian empire acordnig to PhD Yavor Shopov
