In this video, I share my experience & my biometric data around binging sugar and quitting sugar. I was surprised at how bad just 4 days of Average American sugar intake was for my body.

I started keto on may 9th 2023 and dropped 18 lbs (its 7/30/2023) and I feel amazing. Prior, I was feeling depressed, anxious, and lethargic. I'm at 229 lbs now. In 2020, I started keto the first time when I was 276 and dropped 70 lbs, then maintained it on no added sugar and mostly low carb, but not keto and not processed. Then, in late 2022, I got depressed and binged again and gained 40 lbs back, but then in may I decided to make a change and have been nearly 3 months keto (but I get lots of fiber, and low carb veggies like turnips and greens). I feel great and in 2020 when I did this the first time, my doctor who told me to do it, she took labs every three months and they improved more and more until the labs showed I looked no longer pre-diabetic/insulin resistant.

With the glucose monitors, it is important to know that it only measures glucose levels in the blood, NOT fructose, which is only processed by the liver, nor lactose from milk. Sucrose is half glucose and half fructose. High fructose corn syrup is 55% fructose and 45% glucose. Obviously, fruit is fructose, which is normally not problematic, unless your system is already sugar overloaded. The glucose monitor is NOT the whole story. Important to remember.

A lot of those “Keto” products, aren’t actually Keto, Keto means low to no sugar at all, added or not. That’s why certain fruits with high sugar like bananas are not allowed. So you’re still getting a sugar fix with a lot of those “Keto” products and banana. Certain fruits like berries are better because they are lower on sugar and the fiber slows down the sugar digestion, leading to less of a insulin spike.

I make very low cal, no sugar, no fats, high protein ice cream; use protein powder of your choice, whey or beef, flavorings like cocoa powder (low carb naturally), stevia, water flavorings (I like cherry drink mix plus vanilla powder = cherry vanilla) and a T or so of sugar free pudding mix to thicken. Focusing solely on sugar doesn't really give a full pictures of the macros in these foods, which includes lots of processed fats as well. There's proof that diabetes can be reversed with a high carb low fat, whole foods plant based diet. Combining high fat and sugar is the recipe for diabetes, excess fat blocks insulin receptors, get rid of excess fat in the diet, reverse insulin resistance. A high fat diet doesn't address insulin resistance.

I quit added sugar and alcohol at the same time, starting in February. The alcohol was easy - the sugar was NOT! I would wander around the grocery store checking labels and could not buy ANYTHING -- Including V-8 juice -- even things like mustard and wasabi!!! Did not do scans or bloodwork, but thanks to diet and yoga 4-5 X/wk, I lost 13 lbs of (mostly) stubborn belly fat and got quite ripped in less than 90 days. At 62, I feel like I'm in the best shape of my life. I'm back to very light drinking and minimal sugar - (less than 10g a day) mostly from dark chocolate. I will never go back...

No way that the average American only eats 77 grams of sugar? Has to be like 200 grams in my opinion.

So much weird stuff in this video. Your blood sugar on the CGM didn't spike after eating enormous meals of junk food, your body composition got worse after a month, and your triglycerides jumped around so much that the "downward" pattern might just be noise. It doesn't like you got any valuable data whatsoever lmao. Fun video though.

Soon, there is going to be the rapture. It's when there will be trumpet sounds, and after the trumpet sounds, God will lift his people from here. Also, God said people should be living by the Bible. Amen, and God bless you.

Butttt you had a lot of artificial sweeteners. Your brain cannot tell the difference so you didnt get as many of the health benefits as far as the brain goes also things like sinple carbs and alcohol all turn to sugar in the blood stream. So the alcohol was super bad idea. Just some pointers if you wanna go more hardcore next time! Ive done it befor too, it was hard but worth it. Also chipotle definitely has sugar. I worked there.
