- Contract negotiations or disputes may not be as dramatic as they seem on TV (most of the time), but take it from Laura: representing an artist as an entertainment lawyer can be a rewarding way to put your reading, writing, and listening skills to work.
Laura Wilson-Lewis is an Associate at Taylor Oballa Murray Leyland LLP, an entertainment and media law firm in Toronto. Her practice focuses on all aspects of the music industry, as well as film, television, and new media. Laura acts for a wide variety of clients, including musicians, artist managers, producers, and other copyright owners. Prior to joining the firm in February 2021, Laura operated her own law firm, where she practiced law exclusively within the music industry. Laura has extensive experience drafting and negotiating licensing agreements, distribution agreements, publishing agreements, and a variety of other agreements to help clients protect their business interests and intellectual property. Laura graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2015 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2016. Laura can be reached on social media @wilsonlewislaw on IG, LinkedIn, and Twitter, and by email at laura@tomllawyers.com.

Thank you ! I’m a 1L in law school studying to become a sports/entertainment attorney. This helped to give me an idea of what I can expect in that career
How can I contact you??
Very helpful, thank you.
Thank you for sharing this video. I am considering this field since I have been in the entertainment industry as a radio personality on a very small scale. I think I'd like to do something that's a bit bigger. I feel like I could do the things that you talked about. I see that someone else made the comment about your video. One of the things I do is mix audio and music. I would bring your voice up and turn the music down. Have a good day.
Thank you so much for this Laura!
Can you lower the music it's hard to hear you.
I want to be an entertainment attorney for disabled musicians. --H
I need a entertainment lawyer to help start a public relations agency to sign myself to myself and to deal with discovery communication. I may have a great opportunity to work with them
Music is fire
Of course, there is going a lot of writing and reading when it comes dealing with law.
I appreciate the effort but whose idea was that dreadful backing music? This is an advisory law video, not a car insurance advert.
