Perfect timing for this video! We are heading to the UK for 2 months. Both packing 40L backpacks with wheels. Packing cubes a must! 7 long sleeve shirts 4 pants 7 underwear socks We have waterproofed our walking shoes with Scotch guard (works great!) 30 dry laundry sheets for washing. Very small toiletry items. (Get when we are there) Medicines Adapters Electronics ie. Laptop, camera gear, Bluetooth headphones etc. Small hairdryer adaptable. Few personal items. Our coats have large pockets inside which will hold scarfs & gloves. And I think that’s it! What we don’t have we will get if needed. Very helpful tips great video! ~Cara ❤ OH & PASSPORTS HA HA!
@@JohnandCaraRetiredTravellers definitely don’t forget the passports😀 Sounds exciting… all the tech gear takes so much space. I agree packing cubes are a must. Thanks for watching.
Im from central Europe, just 2 really important things for outside winter plans: 1. Wery warm, comfortable shoes or boots 2.wery warm, comfortable winter jacket or coat. That's it! 😉 Yea,bonus points if they're matching together 😀
@@viktorija4485 love bonus points for matching😀 I agree as I have reflected on our trip other layer is so important. Thank you for your experienced advice. Thank you also for commenting.
When I pack to go to NZ/Australia I pack the day before I leave. Same now for our 5 week French Road trip we are on. We keep an eye on weather patterns to help gauge for our needs. I don't take toiletries. They take up too much room and weigh a fair bit. Just my fav lipstick. The heavy shoes I wear on the plane.Thermal clothing is thin and saves feeling like a teddy bear. And wanting to purchase something (clothing) while away - helps take less. I always like to have at least one piece of clothing bought on a holiday. Great memory keepsake. Good tips Kerryn. 👌🇳🇱🙋♀🥝
Hi Kerryn, great video. I'm planning a Europe Christmas market trip and was wondering what kind of jacket you recommend. I have a down jacket but was thinking that this wouldn't cut it if it started to rain or snow. I don't want to take more than one jacket.
@@belindafurner5028 hey Belinda, Thanks for watching and I am so excited for you. I sprayed my Macpac down jacket with scotch guard and it was fine. I did also use an umbrella as an extra level of protection in the rain. In my opinion a longer jacket is a good idea. I was glad my jacket was covering my butt and helped keep warm. Another consideration would be the weight, make sure it has good level of warmth. I found that as long as you had a good outer layer, you could do thinner layers underneath.
What has been the biggest lesson you have learned about overpacking?
This video is SO helpful and perfectly timed, thank you very much!
@@marnibee5460 so glad to hear and we hope you have an amazing time. Where are you off to?
