  • Nestlé's Maggi and Unilever's Knorr have been going at it since the late 1880s. Both brands are owned by two global food conglomerates and are both fighting it out in the same industry. In this episode, we explore the origin stories of both Maggi and Knorr, how they battled it out in India, and how both companies are doing today.

From Pakistan, but 99 out 100 people here would buy knorr, you would find knorr in any local shop, maggie is on the other hand hard to find, that only a few superstores have maggie.

In my whole life, I thought it was pronounced "KNOW", but I was wrong; it was pronounced "KNORR".
And I thought both KNORR and MAGGI are Malaysian brands, turns out KNORR originated from Germany while MAGGI originated from Switzerland.

Umm we have knorr in the USA, I have seen maggi but thought it was a Mexican product since I only seen it in the Hispanic food section. Lasting I believe the k is not silent, remember as kids we used to make fun of silent k be pronouncing them, any who soon after that they started producing advertising pronouncing the k. I could easily have said Knorr.
