The interrogator is Dmitry Oksen, the founder of Jinjer who left just before they blew up in popularity to pursue acting. It's awesome to see him.

This song was written about an interview she and Eugene did with a Ukrainian UA-camr, which turned in to an ambush interview to paint the band as Russian sympathizers and traitors to Ukraine. The clothes she is wearing in this video that you referred to as "Suicidal Tendencies" look were the clothes she wore in that interview.

During an interview on a Ukrainian media channel they were interviewed by host, who was also an ex-prosecutor, on his TV show who basically set them up and verbally attacked Tatiana and Eugene on their political views of Ukraine and Russia and, they believed, how their life was good in the 80's as young kids under Russia, this caused a backlash which later branded them as un-patriot Ukranians in the media. It bothered Tatiana, so much, for three days after, so this song and video is their reply to that interview and their media.

and obviously having a show in Moscow after that (without any plans to do show in Kiev) - did not help too much.

The detective was Dimitry Olksen the first guitar player for Jinjer.

Love it. Definitely another 10 outta 10. I got to see them live this past Thursday, and it was the best live show I have ever seen.

Yeah, love this song as well. The intro and Tatiana's whoo! at the beginning is really cool. Definitely a different vibe to it...more pop sounding. It's great live as well. Just saw them twice back to back on October 24th and 25th in Portland and met them at the meet and greet. Very cool down to earth people. And Eugene is not a small guy. He was my height sitting on a stool (I stood next to him for the VIP photo) and I'm 6' 0".
Yeah, as others have said, it's about an interview Tatiana and Eugene hand with an Ukrainian Nationalist type media personality (demagogue) that tried to push a political narrative about them. Tatiana and the whole band have made it pretty clear they aren't patriotic and don't go into politics. So there are people in their country that have been trying to paint them as "bad Ukrainians". I actually watched the interview. And the interviewer was an ass and definitely was trying to set them up. You could tell Tatiana and Eugene were not too happy with what was happening. Definitely not cool.
It's cool their old guitar player Dimitry Oksen was the interrogator. He was one of the founding members of Jinjer.

I think he has to be right at 6 feet. I'm looking at the photo I have from when I met them at a meet and greet and he looks about 3 inches shorter than me. (I'm 6'3") He definitely towers over Vlad and Tati though.

    • @tonybrelinski3710

@@Neal_UA-cam Yeah, I was surprised how small Vlad was. He is about the same size as Tatiana. Roman is slightly shorter than Eugene, but not much. Was cool meeting them even though we didn't have much time to really talk or interact with them.

I saw them last Thursday in Milwaukee. Met the band, saw the show... fuckin' BRILLIANT! They were already one of my favorite bands, but after they kicked my ass for an hour and a half, they quickly have risen to the upper echelon of my pantheon of great bands!

Oops! I replied to the Meh guy on this video, but forgot to comment earlier!
I love Disclosure! Always love Jinjer! One thing I read about this one is that it's really important when Tatiana shows her Ukrainian passport, like the band is saying to critics who call them unpatriotic, "yes, we're still Ukrainian even though we disagree about some things" (I think it's pretty horrifying that the US helped a neonazi militia to be incorporated into the Ukrainian military, our fascism begets fascism worldwide). Great reaction! Thank you Mat & Chels, as always, for bringing more of the fantastic music of Jinjer to more people! ❤🖤🤘

Anyone else get massive AIC's vibes off that main riff. I know Tati really likes them not sure about the rest of the band

the guys write the music. Vortex is very AIC influenced too. My impression is that a lot of the album us an ode to 90s alt rock.

AIC maybe, yes, but when tatyana goes "disclosure!" the song is basically the same as "i'm broken" from pantera.

The video is actually BADASS and makes sense if the context is known. If you're interested I made a more detailed video on my channel exactly to provide the context (I kinda feared people won't be able to appreciate the strength of the message), but basically the story is that Tatiana and Eugene were invited for an interview (in this video Tatiana wears the same shirt actually as on that interview) but the guy who took it turned it political and it was kinda all about how unpatriotic and anti-Ukrainian Jinjer are because they kinda don't fit the mainstream, basically there're attempts to cancel them in Ukraine under pretense that they're traitors to the nation and the video is basically a f#ck you to those haters claiming "you're not Ukrainian if you not think in certain way". Damn it's like 2 days already and I'm still under impression of how cool it is.

    • @metalgearshady7875

and you're spot-on with Suicidal Tendencies vibe, actually the attitude of the video reminded me of ST too.

Decent banger, the video is alright but has some easter eggs like 'the matrix' lip closing and their older guitar player apearing. Sure there are many more that will be found. Fun reaction.

В русском жаргоне МУСОР, самое пренебрежительное выражение, означающее ПОЛИЦЕЙСКИЙ. Наверно поэтому его вывезли на свалку.

I love this song and video. As for the latest album, it's very subjective. I love every song on Wallflowers, and so do most of the Jinjer fans I've seen, but I understand not every song can be for everyone and I'd add that for me, for some Jinjer songs, I didn't follow all of the complexity on the first listen (like Mediator), but I usually end up liking those songs more than ones I liked immediately because it's somehow very satisfying once the complexity clicks for me. I still keep every Jinjer song on my playlist and still love each one more every time I hear it.
