I'm a Toyota Master Tech, new chain tensioners come with what looks like a blunt thumb-tac installed into the hole to keep it locked. The trick I use to ensure I don't do what happened to you (as has already happened to myself) is I use the thumb-tac with a string tied to it. I've had one pop out and fall into the oil pan, but I was able to retrieve it via the string.
The added details are great, especially with such a new platform. Motive is about the only one that has explained their process with the GR Yaris, so it’s great to see a different perspective.
Just sub'd you guys are ABSOLUTELY KILLING IT! About to complete the break-in period on my GRC and I cant wait to start modding it. Love the in-depth tech talk, I've been learning so much. Can't wait to see the result!
Really loving the in depth look into these parts, especially the differentials. Hope you touch on this again, in particular regarding the shims/setting backlash of the rear diff etc 👍🏻
Kind of fell on your videos. Expected the typical bolt on dyno here you go stuff. Really pleasantly surprised by how serious you guys are and how confidently you tear into things. Well done. Definitely love the details and the step step presentation. Subscribed.
Great job, bros! I had to sell back my GR Corolla, and these videos are my cathartic therapies. I'm eager to see you guys in the competition. Btw please record everything and post it here 🙏 is the only way I can see you. I'll be cheering you from here
@zaydhijazi6154 thanks for the support. It wasn't easy letting her go, but it was necessary. Yeah, I'll most definitely try to get her back. (LOL I just realized this comment looks like I'm talking about a girlfriend. Hahaha)
If we are going with "John the mechanic" I vote we start referring to Dave as "boost God". The internet isn't ready for where this groups headed. Good job boys, see you in a week for some Rocketwagon fire.
I don’t know the schedule for gymkhana grid but as soon as we do I’ll post about it! We also might bring it to large car show events we will also keep you Guys updated!
I am dying to see the results aswell! We are running stock bottom end so stock rods and pistons! It’ll be interesting to see what we can make on the dyno!
I have been going back and fourth with Charles who owns Lamspeed and we both don’t want to start shooting out numbers cause we don’t know what it will do yet. Charles “kit” he puts together is definitely the most promising kit on the market for building big power and hopefully in the near future we get good results

Awesome gr bros
Thanks for the support bruv!!
Man ok...what is crazy... the block looks so close to the geo metro block......😮
Lol!!! 500hp geo metro here we come
Hah shimming diffs is exactly how I used to shim my electric Airsoft gear boxes. Neat.
We have the same spec gr but mine probably will never get to this level
Why resurface everything on a fairly new head? Or was it more of a clean up? Anyway, the more details the better. Loving this project!
Even from the factory there tolerances are the best so just best to do it over to make sure it’s flat
You got any events coming up in the Corolla or is this all prep for next season.
I don’t know the schedule for gymkhana grid but as soon as we do I’ll post about it! We also might bring it to large car show events we will also keep you
Guys updated!
Are the cranks keyed or do they use friction washers?
They are keyed so we are all good lol
Interesting. Are you guys pushing for 500hp on stock compression? Looking forward to seeing the dyno results 😀
I am dying to see the results aswell! We are running stock bottom end so stock rods and pistons! It’ll be interesting to see what we can make on the dyno!
There's a GRY pushing 760 on the stock bottom end. It'll be just fine.
@@carlstrohm3785 that’s what I’m hoping for
Will this void your warranty? 😂😂 JK Jk
Looking good Nemtec 🤙🏽
You just gave me a great idea about bringing it to the dealer lol that would be a funny video
Nice job there, we should do some cooperation!
Aren't the aussie guys getting 500 hp on the yaris engine without doing alot of upgrades??

Be noisy for 15 seconds not minutes.
