I love that it's in English and French. I can read French reasonably well but I always have trouble understanding spoken French. This is very helpful, plus it will help my overwatered violet.
Agreed! I was so pleasantly surprised to have both official languages... love that! Good reminder of my high school French and felt very Canadian. Smile. Merci beaucoup!
Great video! It was just the information I needed to save a very special Violet. Originally it was a plant that I took to a dear friend dying of cancer. Upon arriving at her room, the nurse told me that she had just passed away. Therefore this little one has lots of memories attached to her - thanks for helping me to save Lil. xo
That is great, I do it more for convenience but glad people like it and many like you are appreciating it for the practice and or learning another language.... xx
This is the 1st time that utube has recommended ur video. Ur English is excellent. Thanks for making the effort. I learnt a lot from ur video. I love African Violets but my plants keep on suffering from root rot. I plan to restock soon but I need to learn how to keep this plant alive. I live in the mountains on the windward side - plenty rainfall
I've been wondering how to save a couple of the babies that rotted like this. Thank you for your time and information. This is exactly what I needed. I root my plants and leaves in about 1/3 inch of water and I watch it every day to make sure that the water level stays up. I put the leaves and plants in small baby food jars until they root and start growing tiny leaves and plants at the base where the roots are. It works every time for me if the leaf is healthy. I'm so glad to have learned this technique. Thank you so much and happy growing!!🌸🌿😊
THANKS for the video. You need to clean the knife in between cuts or you will spread the fungus infection causing the rot to the healthy parts of the plant.
@@BloomloversAfricanViolets did the African violet with “rot” survive? Your video in English/French was so helpful for the situation I am in with a 2 year old African Violet I am trying to save.
It doesn’t appear the owner responds to comments. ☹️ Does anyone know what to do AFTER you save it? How long to leave in bag? Ok to just take out right away or slowly by opening bag first? Also, what happens if it tries to root ABOVE the soil?! 😬😬😬
Thank you so much for your informative videos. As a new AV owner, I am learning a lot from you. The bottom leaves on one of my plants are droopy and turning brown. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Could you address this issue on a future video? Thanks again.
Hello Tootie, sorry for the late reply... I have recently opened a new Facebook group where people can post (and show off) pictures of their plants and growing setups and also a place to add pictures of problem plants where I can help to diagnose the problem(s). you are welcome to join and share pics of your beauties too facebook.com/groups/576909326168260/ I need to see the plants to help figure out what the problem is... hope this helps. xx
Well....at least this video let me know what killed my violet. Unless I can get it to revive from a single leaf, I fear the rot was too extensive. There wasn't any root left to work with.
that one in particular did not survive but some of them do. The technique I did here is the only thing that we can do to try to save a violet that is rotten as much. Some of them will make it and others are to far gone and will not survive. The next time I do another video on the subject, I will show the results.
Dunno how but my plant somehow survived this without my help (neglect). Now it’s 60% stem with no leaves except on top and doesn’t grow. Man.
Absolutely fascinating. I would have tossed it! But you saved it! You taught this old dog a new trick. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️

How can I send you a picture of my little plant to obtain some advice as to how to proceed ?
Thanks for refreshing my French. I came here for the flowers but it helps me remembering French. Merci 😀

Thank you! I never would have known what to do with my poor baby. You are a very good teacher. I'm so addicted to African Violets.
You are so lucky to be able to speak both languages so beautifully!

J'AIME que vous ayez fait cette vidéo en anglais et en français. Vous m'inspirez (et vous avez sauvé ma plante aussi)! 😀

This was great! I am trying to save a mini from root rot and now I know what to do. I, too, love the French addition!
I've tried doing that and it worked.
I love💕 your videos asI love African violets💐🌿
Thanks for showing me how to save my plants when I may need it.
Thank you so much!!! I love how you speak both English and... French? LoL I’m just guessing :) You are very informative and it helped so much!
You always give such good tip that I then feel brave enough to try these on mine! Thank you

One thing that is very important is cleaning your knife with alcohol so you won’t spread the fungus that is rotting the stem
Can't wait to find out how it turns out !
Le titre en français aurait besoin d'un peu d'amour, mais merci pour la belle vidéo bilingue :)
You have pretty nails. Also thanks, maybe I can still save my violet! I was about to trash it.
Did the plant survive?

Thankyou muchly !
Hi! A year later, did it work? Did you save it? :)
What is the best growing medium for african violets
Did this plant survive?
Would using a rooting hormone help?
Is there an updated video on this plant. I hope it made it. I love my AV I have one looking almost like this. Going to try and save it.
Did it ever come back?
Yes!!! I so needed this video!!!! Thanks!!!!
Very helpful,thanks for sharing...

Hi, may i know if its possible to root by the water method in this situation?
Merci!!!!
Why are my African violet leaves curling

Wow not likely 😵💫🍃

It would have been nice if you had done this video in English only, so it would be shorter for us to view..
