This is a story of depression. She built a castle in her mind so she wouldn't get hurt. The only problem was, nobody could get in to help her, and the castle (her mind) was drowning yet in fire at the same time. The drowning symbolizes natural destruction, such as the wearing down of the walls. The fire is inner turmoil that this depression has caused, destroying almost everything but her depression, the rubble that remains. She will eventually be happy again, but she will never truly forget her fight with depression. She only wants to love and be loved, though her mind will never let her do so. Hence the line "and there's no one to love you if you trap yourself inside."

Does anyone else feel as if this song is about a young girl who's life was going great and one day it just changed and her parents started fighting and ended up splitting up. I think it's a little girl mainly because it says 'a paper crown' and 'a heart made of glass' witch is like talking about how it's like to be young and sensitive. maybe the line 'there's no fairy tails' means life isn't perfect witch all kids learn at some point. 'she'll make it out' means she can over come it 'but she's never the same' talks about how things still go wrong or depression kicks in witch also explains 'she's looking down at the scares that remain'. 'when all she is and ever was was compromised' explains how she changes and learns truth and discovers that life isn't perfect. 'because there no one to love her when you build your walls to high' talks about how she tried to avoid it and stay happy but things got to her. 'she's looking out to the war that's inside she's screaming out' explains how she tried to fix things when it began to get to her.'but when your all alone you wait and you hide' talks about how she gave up on trying to fix it. This song reminds me of my life, I suffer from major depression thanks to some people....they would hit me and tear me apart, leaving my cloths tattered sometimes and they left bruises and scars in my heart. I started to think what life would be like if I was dead and I also started to trap myself inside my mind where nobody could disrupt my thoughts. I never found love or friends. I used to have friends 'till I realized they were using me for many reasons. 1: Popularity. 2: Not needing to do much of anything. And 3: As a shield....nobody believes my story and I don't blame you if you don't either...I would walk alone in the school halls, a few tears streaming out of my eyes as they laughed. My mind was burning and every breathe felt like I was drowning. I'm hoping my future would be better,but by the looks of it I might not have a future. I would act like I was the queen inside my thoughts and I was loved by everybody. If you do believe my story then I really hope yours isn't anywhere near mine......My life is so great...☺......😢......😭 (message: if your reading this I might already be gone.....hopefully 😢)

I find this song pretty sad for one reason, last (school) year I had lost a friend because I've always built my walls too high and distanced myself too far from my friends because of past experiences with my friends betrayals. Though I've got my friend back now I still tend to distance myself. I'm posting this for anyone who might be like me. That's nice of you, thank you but, i don't think it's that simple... I may sound a bit negative so bear with me ( i was gonna make a pun but nah) im sure no one will recognize me for telling my story witch sounds quite bizarre and unrealistic. My parents were... Ok, my mother was the more normal one so imma start with her. She was very loving and caring dispite her addiction and mental problems possible depression not able to handle her own emotions in a healthy way but as a kid i never got to see her much and my dad WAS(key word there) a apart of a major gang and had done time for many heinous and horrible things and continued said life style till i was born. For some reason he decided to try change his life. So using the money he saved we lived pretty nicely dispite having to move alot... Oh i forgot to mention my dad and mum went to court for custody of me and my dad won so since the age of 1 i think i was in my dads custody anyway back to before we lived in nice big house's and over time the places we went to became... Well less nice and soon he had to work for money and he went to temps(temporary work) and did this for a few years till his rumatard arthritis had gotten so bad he began to lose the use of his hands. So with money running low and work was not an option we had to go out and beg for money before we lost our house... I hated it but i did it because i saw how hard he worked to keep me happy every day he came home he did not take his pain medication in a kind of detox effort to reduce how much we had to spend on said meds and it was hard seeing him in pain for my happiness. So jump to our next house because despite our efforts we got kicked out and the land lord stole all our stuff again(was not the first time a land lord did this to us) but my uncle umm lets call him uncle T-bone yea he helped us find a house and helped with rent for a while but then we had another repeat of last time and uncle T-bone was not in any shape to help us again so he had to resort to old habbits... The drugs, the car theft, break and entures, at first he tried to keep me away from that and coverd up where the random stuff came from... I don't remember when but he started taking me out to help him go "car hooping" find an unlocked car and take everything not bolted down... I still remember when we were stealing a generator from a nabour and when his truck alarm went off i ran down the aily way down to the end when he found me i was not shaking in fear but coverd in sweat because that was the fastest and langest i had ran back then he laughed, reasured me it's safe, finished what we started and left... A year later a umm type of fair was happening in my city and every year we had gone there but this time we went it was less rides and games and more... "Finding" of other peoples stuff... I still remember the poor lady who's bag we stole, inside we got money credit cards and their info along with a mini tablet and a regular sized tablet. Life was ok at that time till we were caught doing a break and enter trying to take this family's tv game system and as much food as our pockets could hold. I ended up in foster care again but this time for good... Oh yea first time i went to the system was for trying to steal an entire shopping cart of food ok back to before. This time i got a new social worker and she was so mean i don't know why i treated her with respect as much as a 10 year old kid with his most important person to him ripped away from him and entire world turned on its head. Anyway, it was as though she wanted me to stay in f-care every time she came to see me it felt like she was disgusted to be in my presences. Ether way she changed kids as soon as she made this thing called a PGO permanent(i forgot what it is its like permanent guardian order or something) then i got this nice worker and she is amazing and helped me reconnect to family and my culture. So that is where i am now so yea. Um im tend to build walls around myself because im scared of getting to close to some one then end up losing them again, i have friends but they feel empty. Empty realation ships, and it's seems like the only type of people around me now are closed minded people and that is another thing that makes me sad. I just wish that... I've been told that i have had all the attributes of an amazingly perfect child... Yet im turning into everything but that. And im just so angry that i am supposed to have everything i need to be successful yet why did things turn out the way they did? I had everything i wanted then it all fell apart... Sure it was anything but perfect with my dad but at least i didn't develop anything mentally bad there like i did the with the foster system i developed social anxiety and depression... I tried to reach out for help from close friends but they just laughed it off like a joke... Well most of them did one girl tried her best even after my attempts to push her away. She was beautiful, Smart, popular, was a weeb... And she was happy like a little ball of sunshine☀ and then... I burdened her with my problems... I... I poisoned her mind with the weight of my sickness... And then she moved away cutting all ties with me and our friend's... Im sorry if you read all of this but at the same time thank you

I imagine a women, hiding her true self from the world. Building wall after wall and only taking a rest at night. She doesn't let anyone show any other emotion but happiness. Many have tried climbing the walls but no one survived the fall to get to the next. In the process, she trapped herself inside her own dungeon of walls. Her bestfriend for three years is still climbing the walls and the only one who has survived the fall.

Im Gonna to try to write a book [and hopefully someday a animated show] About A girl, who can relate to this song. Can some of you take some time to read a summary of what her story is? Cause i need some opinions and\or tips! Ok thanks! Here i go! :o
A girl named Annabelle, fourteen years old, Who has long silver hair, and deep blue eyes. She lives far in the future, but the earth is currently the early stages of the nuclear apocalypse. To save her life and maybe r ven prevent this tragedy, She is sent though a time portal and into our modern time, and lives as an exchange student "from France" in a small spooky town in the USA. She lives with her exange family which includes A Brunette, energetic, party girl her same age, [ Which is much different from Annabelle's quite, shy attitude] Who acts of her guardian, Showing her around the town and school, as well as giving her a more firm grasp on modern culture. She also makes friends with the brunette's Bff, A Blondie with Colorful streaks in her hair, and a goth vibe, and who likes trying to summon ghosts, and explore. They go ghost hunting, mystery solving, but over time they start to relize how strange Annabelle acts, But still just brush it off. Since Annabelle is from the future she is more evolved, in result she has super human strength, seeing, hearing, And maybe something more.....
As side affects of time travel, she can look a a situation and see the possable outcomes, and what to do to affect them. She trys to alter the future in good ways, all while trying not to interfere or make and drastic changes that may end tragically, or with a whole new future. Eventually she finds other people from the future who are evolved with the nuclear apocalypse, she must let her friends in on her secret, and they reveal their dark backstorys as well, They investigate and figure out the plan, locate enemies and get answers. Then the day comes, they must put all her powers to use as they team up with other time traveler warriors who help fight in the war to prevent tragedy. After victory, Annabelle's wings, [ That she lost due to the nuclear chemicals in the future] Return, and the powerful electronic blasts from her hands [ Another effect from time travelling] Are gone, Proof the apocalypse has been prevented, and is no more.
Future people rejoice, and begin to head back home. Annabelle Decides to stay, but writes a letter to her parents, Thanking them and saying goodbye.

And each character has a dark sad backstory that motivates them to be how they are, and they all have really unique personalitys a swear their not generic! And also i want The brunette to have a twin brother Who has a crush on Annabelle. And lots of other details, like Annabelle starting to fade When she cant prevent the apocalypse soon or something like that...
Also the brunette has Bad ass karate moves, and the blonde girl has a connection with the spirit world, So she has sone ghost like abilities! I havent starting really writing the book yet so feel free to help me oit a bit :D

You know, I never realized how unaccepted I was throughout high school until now. Looking back, after becoming a total loner, I noticed that people avoided me. People looked away when I looked their way. And I know I always looked scared or sad because my previous friends would ask me why I looked that way, sometimes strangers would ask me if I was ok or if I needed help, and I always had the same thought running through my mind.
