Thank you Lia. I really like this conversation because it's something I've believed for a really long time. I first came across it I think with minimalist living and also watching Jennifer L Scott, the Daily Connoisseur - this is part of her philosophy. Love your channel. Thank you for producing this content and sharing your life, it really inspires me 🙏🏼😊 XX
My partner has mentioned you a number of times. She enjoys your videos very much. This video came up in my link today and I found the topic enticing, so I decided to watch. What you had to say today struck home for me. Yes, I am also fining that the little things in my day (catching a glimps of sunlight on a tree, feeling "accomplished" when I prepare a meal or wash the dishes, and other things as well) can have a great impact upon my attitude and my gratitude. I have not traveled a great deal, but over the years, I have been to other countries a few times. Now, like you, I find myself very content to stay home and it is always good to return home after going shopping and "being out in the world". Thank for your perspective. Peace & Blessings.
I totally identified with this video. I always thought i should be doing more traveling and live a more exciting life. At 65 I am finally finding out who I am. I've traveled and usually around the 3rd day I am missing my home. I love a good book, a soft blanket, the beach and my friends and family. And I am for minimalism but not for the look. I keep stuff that makes me feel good. Thank you for this honest and humble video.
I just discovered your channel and am really enjoying! Very thought provoking. I’m a cozy minimalist I guess. Not extreme but happy with my things, my home. I sometimes buy things and think I really don’t need that! But as far as clothing, I have a few nice pieces and buy maybe 4 or 5 pieces per year. I prefer to get my library books via kindle or print books too. I love spending time in nature and really enjoy my single life with two cats:) Thank you for your videos! 🍃💕love from Atlanta.
I do search UA-cam for 'extreme minimalism' not because I necessarily want to be an extreme minimalist but because those kinds of videos help me the most. You are the one who made me want to becomes minimalist and I have followed you for years. You not being extreme anymore is a slight shame for me personally purely for my own selfish benefit but you being happy and content is what counts. I will continue to watch you and your travel vlogs are my fav x
This video is actually the BEST one I have ever seen on UA-cam. You are wise beyond your years. This is really an excellent explanation of the kind of mindset on minimalism that I want. Thank you! I will be listening to this multiple times I believe.😊
I totally get your ideas about enjoying and striving for minimalism leading to realizing that a simple life is what you crave and now enjoy and appreciate. A simple life is a gift! Thank you for sharing your thoughts.💜🐇
Interesting topic! I've been noticing my whole life how I love doing my craft at home and spend chill evenings at home, compared to others of my age who are going to parties sometimes every weekend. Fortunately for me, I've realized what I'm aspiring for my life quite early and never felt like I 'had' to do things to exist. That being said, after the years I still hate answering the 'What's up?' question from friends. Because I have to tell them my hobbies and my 'boring' life. I truly don't think my life is boring. My inner self is filled with so much creativity and thoughts and my outter self lives amazing experiences at home by creating for instance. But I hate seeing in people's eyes that they think my life is boring when I, me the person who lives it, don't think it is. Why do we have to put such a negative adjective to describe our lives when we are actually enjoying it?
9:48 Wow, I was never thinking about this like that. But you are right Lia, for our brains doesn't matter if novelty is huge or small, new is new - always exciting.
I am planning on traveling after my lease is up just to see what's out there. In my head traveling will bring me happiness and fulfillment but sometimes I wonder if I'm chasing after something that's not as simple as "be in a new place and you'll be better". I don't remember which video it it was but I heard something that went like "I have met many nomads who are not happy/fulfilled and thought traveling would help that but hasnt and people who live in small villages who have little to nothing and are at complete peace and feel happy and content just from that" and it really hit me and I've been thinking about it a lot. It really does come down to surrounding yourself with what brings you joy, and in some cases that's a new change of scenery and others that's people or your (permanent) home, etc. Just kind of just rambling and I'm half awake, hope this comment makes sense 😅
Hi Lia, I always watch your videos, extreme minimalist or not. And evolving is what keeps it interesting. You were extreme, and now you are not any longer and changing into a new balance. How human. Stay real. Thank you.
Does it need to be either or. Could it be a bit this and that? To experience life is good to be flexible. You don't need to fix you identity so strickly so early in life.😊
Sometimes it is ... i have boring life with a lot of people who think they know better. Trauma isnt always big. But maybe it s interesting that you pick up trauma, maybe it s closer to you.

A boring life is actually achievement because it means that everything you need in life is in place. 😊
Indeed😊
Yes! I no longer want travel too.
Simplicity is a way of actually being present, and sanity.
The word boring has a negative connetation
declutter your dreams !! what a cool thing to say...
❤❤❤totally agree❤❤❤
And to find contentment with a simple life not only enriches the soul but is good for our planet earth as well.
Girl you should write a book about your life journey to where you are today you inspired 30,000 plus people who follow you.

Dear Lia, you've learnt so many precious lessons at a young age! Continue sharing them because they're truly empowering!😊
How you approach minimalism now is so relatable though. I know extremes get more clicks but this right here is what my soul wants to hear.

I wish you could write a book 😭
I'd buy it!
I love being boring 🤗! Whatever that means for people ~
This one really resonated since coming to a very similar outlook quite recently. Nice to see others on the same wavelength. Cheers!

You live with intention, that I think includes being minimalistic in ways. During your video the word that kept coming to mind was - enlightenment.
I see so much of myself in this video. I am in the process of accepting my homebody-ness : )

I love how, in my feed, "I want a boring life" is just after "why I don't want a comfortable life" of Malama life 😁
😂😂❤❤ i m also one of Malama life subscriber
Me too
Yess, same here 😂
But I loved how she talked about the comfort crisis and I think there is a whole other aspect there too! I think I made my video before seeing hers 😊
I tend to agree. Thank you.

Why do some people who show their lifestyles sound like they're overcoming trauma? Hmmmm. Interesting...
