No buy for me! No recipe books,no household appliances or decor or furniture. No stuff for my adorable dog besides essentials. no clothes or shoes and only replacements of face products. No food delivery services and cut way down on subscriptions :) I've had enough. thanks for the extra inspo!
I don’t count replacement items. If I need it and it’s worn out or broken, buying a replacement is not discretionary spending to me. I only track discretionary spending. Yes to savings.
One thing I've learnt in life is that life is totally unpredictable. I could say that I'm planning a no buy year but I'd lie, 'cause what I don't need now I might need in 6 months time. I'm happy I got rid of many things recently, and I'm no longer buying books, even second hand because I have enough to read at home already. Also I do not buy anything which is not necessary, so I don't see what else I can stop doing 😊 At the moment I do not need anything in any area of my life so I'm happy like that.
I stopped buying (most) books, have a curated wardrobe and don't want to buy anything for my house as I'm moving in a couple of months, so I'm saving and investing a lot
I really appreciate the “evolving” list of needs according to life changes. I keep a list of stuff I’m looking for and after a while - a year? months? one or two things are just obvious and I’ll buy them. I’ve also drastically reduced my creative hobbies/crafts to three options. I’ve sold or traded the other supplies to support the ones I’m continuing with. So nice to see you excited and planning new things.🐇💜
Im doing more of a slow buy. Ive identified things i want for my hobbies, and those im allowed to buy with planning. But aside from living needs, im just trying to put space between wanting and buying. I'll probably do a a no-buy month here and there too
Knitting on train can help to thin out the yarn stash. I think hobbies & skills are worth getting into but only when it's intentional & the amount of supplies matches the usage rate.
Low Buy Year! 💚
You nailed it with the "perfect" travel items. I'm constantly looking for those. I'm doing a no-buy year to curb my impulse spending, but I still need to incorporate your reminder that the perfect travel sling or backpack won't solve all life's problems. Maybe this year I can let go of that idea?
If you have the money, you make someone else happy: donate money to charities (e.g. unwra, animal shelters, animal sanctuaries, fundraising, etc). Those resources are surely going to have a positive impact. 😊

I’ve loved having a clear out this month. Selling some of my clothes has been really rewarding, and I’ve been able to replace what I’ve sold with new things in the correct size. I love having less stuff!
I'm cutting back when an where I can. Down one subscription, eating out is going to maybe be 100.00 month. We are taking a hard look at what we need and where it's going. We have some trimming to do
Sorry, was not ready with that. I became self employed, because there were so many aspects of employment I did not like at all. But sometimes it is so hard moneywise and maybe a mix of both would be the best choice. I am so happy your videos keep coming and you did not totally stop 😊😊
Sharing your enthusuasm over the list of things you are planning to spend money on! Having a little bit of spare money for modest treats/so you needn’t worry about affording necessities is a good position to be in. I’m aiming for a low buy year, as I think I have everything I need (and more). Books are a possible exception, if there’s a particular book I really want to read/share with my children- otherwise I’m going to read or reread what books I have. I think most of the time when I’m drawn to want something new it’s to try to soothe anxious feelings; could do with figuring out a different method of dealing with that!
I always have a book to read. However, I never have to buy a book because I make extensive use of my local library. Using the library save me a lot of money. Secondly, you mentioned buying sustainable underwear. What brand have you found that you like?
Wow you actually had a bob haircut after shaving it all of😮 why did you decide to cut it short again? Why didn’t you shave it or just leave it for example at shoulders ? Thank you 😊
I think you look for the perfect item because you shop second hand and you want something you’ll love long term. I find it really inspiring that you want the perfect item! You’re less likely to declutter something that’s perfect. 🤍 also can you make a video for those of us who lose motivation with minimalism and have fallen off it.

I will quit buying books this year. I have decluttered lots of them and there are still some l haven't read. I will try not to buy clothes too.
My goal - not buy books, cosmetic for makeup, things for home. I want to save a lot of money, travel and care about my health this year

Great discussion! Thanks Lia for asking the question at the end. I'm going to think about what I will buy not buy! X 🙏🏼😊🌱

I have the Same desire for the „perfect item“ when it comes to clothes, maybe also other areas… drives me nuts 😅😫🙈
