Well, the Shark got a showcase Dave. She is a pretty plane with a strange AP system in the middle console. I looked at it closely as you flew and saw several buttons on it I do not see on other systems I'm familiar with such as Track and CRSE which I take it to mean Course. What I did not see was APPR - Approach but it did have VNAV. Maybe the Approach is automatic once it is set in the G530 but then maybe not. It would probably require more reading, research or watching other Shark fliers.
I was not too crazy about the slow speed and you know I'm a GA flier, but that was excessively slow. Something tells me that Zara Rutherford's parents (both pilots) had a hand in selecting this plane for her Solo flight around the world. They were sending their only daughter up and wanted safety over all other concerns. They didn't want her to fly into any clouds as I don't think it has any deicing in it. Not being able to put down the flaps or gear until you speed or altitude were withing guidelines probably played a factor too.
but mostly I think the parachute was the final item that guided them into this plane. So it met a lot of their criteria.
I am vaguely familiar with your staring point of Medford, OR and finishing point of Eureka Redwood, CA. I have been to both of them but have not traversed the ground in between. I made a note to create a flight plan for myself and check it out. I spent the night in the back of a pickup truck on a mattress under the redwood trees just north of Eureka on my way down to San Francisco to shoot the bridge and then Kodak lost my rolls of film in the mail.
That was a nice airport to showcase. I liked the interior lights in it at night time. Ortho did a great job on the scenery.
Just give her some more gas on the way down next time and approach more quickly like Sky King would do and Cowboy yourself down.

She really is a pretty plane, as for the systems just going to have to read up more on them. The slow landing and approach speeds are really going to take me a long time to get used too, not used to them at all. Also I see it does have a min speed for retracting the gear etc, that is going to take getting used too as well.
However I enjoy flying the Shark and the views out of it ar just awesome, which can't be understated for situational awareness. Thanks again to both of you for the generous support over the years, the last 2 videos could not have been made, with out it, Keep the Blue side up!!
