This sounds like what if Jack Kelly went to Santa Fe. And this song made my bad gloomy rainy morning into a beautiful morning with the sun coming out--literally! I always be amazed by Jeremy Jordan performance. His singing voice is so powerful.
Good point ha ha. That lighthouse/rock area is actually along the Hudson River (in NYC) It's called the Little Red Lighthouse in Fort Washington Park :-) Believe me, you DON'T want to go in that water...EVER ha ha ha.
I dunno, the melancholy way he sang made it almost seem like he was daydreaming of being back home on the farm rather than as someone supposed to be right there in the corn.
i love Jeremy i been a fan since newsies and Smash. so talent .he one of those broadway singers that has really pop sensibility . and this truly pop version of this song. it almost unrecognizable in good way though . Great musical arrangement and of course Jeremy sings it beautifully.
I love the fusion here with classic and contemporary broadway style, but to me, personally, this fusion had a more Contemporary Christian Rock feel to it. Great song, and an amazing voice, Jeremy has. Always loved his voice when I first heard him sing!!
Was such an honour and privilege to have gotten to see him perform this live in London last year knowing we were gutting an exclusive. It's also great to know that he sounds just as good if not better live! He is such an angel and honestly the funniest and most entertaining concert I've been too.
Unfortunately I found this song a few months before my dog got sick, and now it can't bare to listen to it. It has become the anthem of our last days together and though those memories should be good ones, they are just pure heartbreak. I loved this song for the short while I knew it as beautiful.
This is such a good example of classic musical standards vs. contemporary, modern musical theater. Both are beautiful and well done in their own ways, but you’d never find the classical, warm style of the original iconic golden age number written into anything in today’s broadway shows, whereas this version is exactly the feel most composers look toward now and what current up and coming generation is interested. It’s crazy how much the art form can change over the years, for better AND for worse.
When I first saw the title, I thought..."Ugh! Jeremy, you're too good to be singing boring songs from Oklahoma." But I was pleasantly surprised...that the song was actually good, that is. Jeremy is always awesome.
I cried, that was so beautiful. I love Jeremy Jordan and not because he was in Newsies the musical (BTW, he sang so well in that show.) but because he puts so much emotion into what he is singing, which just makes me feel happy inside. 🥲😪
The title is R AND H goes pop, i feel that means it’s gonna be remade into a pop song which is why it doesn’t sound like the original. I love it, to me it has a contemporary new music broadway sound but I could also hear this in the radio. Jeremy is one of the best singers I’ve heard and he slayed this!
Ms.Rutledge's 2nd Period Class in Corpus Christi, Texas had been waiting all morning for this to drop! WE LOVED IT! way to go Jeremy! We look up to you sooooo much!
My cousin is Ron Raines and I have heard this song performed in the traditional way a hundred times. I love the new arrangement! Rogers and Hammerstein were great composers and I think this was a great tribute to great writing! Just my opinion!
Absolutely beautiful! A wonderful interpretation that connects the past with the present. And a voice that brings out the best in any arrangement. Congratulations R&H for continuing to strive to display the relevance of this great music to each generation.
What an absolutely outstanding arrangement of such an great song, best I’ve ever heard! Of course it obviously sounds amazing because of Jeremy, he is beyond amazing. 😍
Wow, just wow! Phenomenal. I Love Jeremy Jordan! And this was a beautiful version of that song. I wasn't ever a fan of the song before, but this was absolutely amazing.
For someone who grew up watching this musical a lot, this song is my favorite. His version is amazing. My heart melted when I first heard this in January. I remember seeing this when I was at work and I couldn't help but get home faster to listen to it.
I love Jeremy Jordan and I love R&H, but I wasn't expecting the melody to be altered. It didn't feel like a reimagined version, but rather a completely different song.
He's an excellent singer, but this is not the song. It's not even really a good pop version of the song. Richard Rodgers was known to be a stickler about any liberties being taken with his music, even slight rhythmic variations. I think we can say with some confidence that he would have loathed this. I cannot see the point of this performance of the . . . well, I can't say "this performance of the song," as it's not a performance of the song.
Yup. It should be called Hammerstein goes pop, because they are ignoring the composer. It's pretty though and his voice is great, but it's a new song with familiar lyrics.
I was not expecting this to be as incredible as it is. I was hesitant to listen to this at first but I'm so glad I did. Jeremy Jordan has such an iconic voice. He could sing literally anything and I would be captivated.
I absolutely love this! Musical theater going pop is my new favorite thing and there's no one better to arrange the music than Ben Rauhala. Also, Jeremy Jordan is so good I'm crying 😭❤️
There’s a concept that I learned in my musical theatre classes that says that you need to find a scenario that makes you feel the feeling of the song whether the words match that scenario or not. This is that concept put into video. I think that’s super cool.
Anyone feel like this sounds more like Christian rock, or even country, rather than pop? Don’t attack! It’s still AMAZING, just INCREDIBLE! Holy smokes, I’m haunted by this, and totally in love 😍, But I wouldn’t put this in the pop category.
I’m a simple person, I see Jeremy Jordan, i like before I hear a word.
The biggest of moods
that's not being a simple person, that's being a simpleton
ME TOO
“my friend jeremy jordan” is the biggest flex.
Laura at the end: "so, did you enjoy that performance?" as if there was an option not to enjoy it
Beth Gable THANK YOU
This sounds like what if Jack Kelly went to Santa Fe. And this song made my bad gloomy rainy morning into a beautiful morning with the sun coming out--literally! I always be amazed by Jeremy Jordan performance. His singing voice is so powerful.
entertainmentstarz1 this is the best comment
I have never needed a song to be on iTunes more than I need this. Right now.
Jodie Hughes this and jeremy jordan’s version of she used to be mine and losing my mind amd basically everything he has ever sung!😂
How is this still not available to buy somewhere?!!
out now ♡
His tone is just magical. This is too good. Cannot wait to hear the rest.
im genuinely so in love with this man its problematic
Everything sounds perfect coming from Jeremy Jordan`s mouth. He could sing the ingredients of a shampoo bottle and I would listen.
Sumo Wrestler #26 Lololol same tho
Exactly what I was thinking!
I can just imagine him belting, "dimethiCOOOONE SULFAAATE!"
I could literally say the same thing about Anthony Rapp, Gerard Canonico, George Salazar, Reeve Carney, & Brendon Urie of Panic At The Disco
Horizon Penblade Bahahahha yesss
Upload it to spotify please!!
Jajajajajajajaja 53 likes, not bad.
Your wish has been granted today
out now ♡
Jeremy has one of the best voices I have ever heard. So much character. It can cross over so many genres
Somehow it still sounds like a contemporary musical theater song
That's because the melody doesn't bear any resemblance to the Richard Rodgers tune
Ok, Jeremy just needs to come out with an album of just covers. This is absolutely amazing.
Oh snap!!! They REALLY SWITCHED IT UP!!!! Shook!!!!!! This was sick!!!!!!!!!
1. I love everything that Jeremy Jordan does.
2. I'm getting Hit List vibes from this style.
So. Is it odd to anyone else that he's singing about cows and corn and meadows while he's sitting on rocks on the beach?
Ashleigh Strange Yes, but his voice is so beautiful that I don’t care. 🤗
Good point ha ha. That lighthouse/rock area is actually along the Hudson River (in NYC) It's called the Little Red Lighthouse in Fort Washington Park :-) Believe me, you DON'T want to go in that water...EVER ha ha ha.
Best comment of the bunch! A flight to flatter lands just wasn’t in the budget (same with a green screen for him to sing in front of)
I dunno, the melancholy way he sang made it almost seem like he was daydreaming of being back home on the farm rather than as someone supposed to be right there in the corn.
the sky is cloudy too, not too beautiful morning
the entire album is inspired. a whole new generation gets to hear what splendid songwriting is.
Jeremy’s voice is amazing, as usual. What a perfect arrangement! Ben Rauhala does it again!
i love Jeremy i been a fan since newsies and Smash. so talent .he one of those broadway singers that has really pop sensibility . and this truly pop version of this song. it almost unrecognizable in good way though . Great musical arrangement and of course Jeremy sings it beautifully.
I first saw him in Joyful Noise. I've also seen Newsies and the Tangled series
I LOVED him in smash 😍
Would love to hear him sing this song with the melody intact.
Same; I really loved this version! but that makes me want to hear him sing the original that much more :)
Richard Rodgers is rolling over in his grave.
Succinctly what I feel. :-)
yeah, Richard Rodgers did NOT approve this mess
I can thoroughly enjoy this performance if I forget the original melody. There is no question that Jeremy is a gifted singer. So think of it that way.
The fact that Laura, Ben, Jeremy, and Nathan worked on this all together makes the greatness that this even better.
I saw Jeremy sing this live in London
Tears.
Buckets of tears
I love the fusion here with classic and contemporary broadway style, but to me, personally, this fusion had a more Contemporary Christian Rock feel to it. Great song, and an amazing voice, Jeremy has. Always loved his voice when I first heard him sing!!

How is he so beautiful and so talented? Never mind, we don’t question perfection such as Jeremy Jordan. 🧡🧡

Kinda wishing that this wasn’t studio recorded, he is such an amazing live singer
Tenors need to leave my classic beautiful baritone musical theatre songs alone.
Am I the only one who thinks he look like Jack Kelly in this video.
Small Town Sisters Modern AU in Newsies where Jack makes it to Santa Fe.
Just an amazing voice! He's got it all!
🤔🤔🤔
I was thinking more like Winn Schott
Idk what drugs y'all are on but he looks like that guy from Bonnie and Clyde,,,, dk his name tho
I am literally screaming rn. It's like my body physically melts when I hear his voice!!!!! HOW DOES HE BELT SO EFFORTLESSLY?!?!?!?!? It's not human!
When I first saw the title, I thought..."Ugh! Jeremy, you're too good to be singing boring songs from Oklahoma." But I was pleasantly surprised...that the song was actually good, that is. Jeremy is always awesome.
“Boring songs from Oklahoma” Lololol nah
oklahoma is not boring, trust me. you should try living there.
Ben is an arrangement GENIUS.
I love this version :)
Jeremy's voice is beautiful and so soothing. He is an amazing singer and he is so talented. I could watch him sing all day long. :)
I cried, that was so beautiful. I love Jeremy Jordan and not because he was in Newsies the musical (BTW, he sang so well in that show.) but because he puts so much emotion into what he is singing, which just makes me feel happy inside. 🥲😪
0:27 and I wanted to say, Oh what a beautiful song this IS!! WOW! I love this song! And he has an amazing singing voice! Whoa
This here's the famous Jack Kelly. He once escaped jail on the back of Teddy Roosevelt's carriage
0:27. I LOVE this song! What a beautiful song, sung with a beautiful voice. Thanks for posting this!!

Oh man I can’t wait for the rest of what’s to come!
I fell in love with Jeremy Jordan's voice on "Duet," the musical episode of The Flash that crossed over with Supergirl.
That episode did not do him any justice.
I fell in love with him on newsies
NEWSIES DUMBO
Watch The Last Five Years on Netflix immediately then. He sings the whole movie and it is my favorite movie.
@@rowen3013 why do you find it necessary to call me a dumbo? Because I first heard him on something different than you did?
I played Curly in Oklahoma last May. So. Yeah, way to show me up Jeremy.
Theater geeks unite!
(Idk lol)
Ha ha
How is he THIS beautiful?
Now, I can confirm that it’s a beautiful day after seeing this. ❤🎉
We all need to greet each morning with singing this song.
I'm here and I'm ready. BRING ME JOY!
Chloe Omelia My thoughts exactly! ❤️
Did you meet Jeremy?
Breaks my heart when someone so talented is underrated!!!!
My cousin is Ron Raines and I have heard this song performed in the traditional way a hundred times. I love the new arrangement! Rogers and Hammerstein were great composers and I think this was a great tribute to great writing! Just my opinion!

What a gift this young man has,God bless him.
Going through some classics with my granddaughter this morning and found this amazing modern version….thank you
The feeling you get when you now realize he was probably singing/recording this knowing he was about to be a dad. I cry T-T
Jeremy Jordan helps me FEEL the songs he sings and I thank him for that!💖
his voice is just so pure and sweet ... jeremy's got his own brand of magic
This was one of my mom’s favorite songs. I teared up. This was beautiful
What an absolutely outstanding arrangement of such an great song, best I’ve ever heard!
Of course it obviously sounds amazing because of Jeremy, he is beyond amazing. 😍

This man can sing any genre of music and nail it!. Jeremy is my new favorite singer!
Wow, just wow! Phenomenal. I Love Jeremy Jordan! And this was a beautiful version of that song. I wasn't ever a fan of the song before, but this was absolutely amazing.
All I can think about when I hear Jeremy sing is Varian. My apologies. Jeremy is such an amazing singer. I look up to him for that. 😀
I never thought I'd be equal parts "YAAS QWEEN" and "you kids get off my lawn"... but here we are.
A beautiful human, singing a beautiful song, with beautiful vocals. Help.
His voice gives me chills! It's dazzling and he is so gifted!!❤
i would like to thank the director for 3:06-3:08 that was a lovely shot
I heard him sing this in London and I've been thinking about it ever since! I'm so glad that this finally exists!
Same!!
So beautiful
yes sir, my year's starting out great
For someone who grew up watching this musical a lot, this song is my favorite. His version is amazing. My heart melted when I first heard this in January. I remember seeing this when I was at work and I couldn't help but get home faster to listen to it.
I've never wanted to ever be a backpack this bad😂😂😂
So talented human. He can easily win Tony Grammy and Oscar. We'll see

I can’t stress how much I need this to be on Spotify 😫
Oh my, what a voice.
This is honestly one of my favorite songs ive heard him cover. Its just perfect, as he always is
If you say this didn’t give you chills then you ARE LYING
His voice is Heavenly. I would love to hear him sing the original!
Benjamin Rauhala and Jeremy Jordan can do no wrong!
This was gorgeous! I'd love to get this released on iTunes!!
DANG SON I CAN'T BREATHE
I absolutely love this! Musical theater going pop is my new favorite thing and there's no one better to arrange the music than Ben Rauhala. Also, Jeremy Jordan is so good I'm crying 😭❤️
Amazing!!!
i want him to sign it as in it's original broadway style with Jeremy's natural ability
Wonderful rendition of this beautiful song 🎶

Also, the way he says “cattle.” Retweet if you agree.
I thought it started out a little slow but this turned out to be a very enjoyable version of this classic song.
I was at the concert he sang this first at. It was incredible
