- Inspired by the evocative, haunting atmospheres of the track and by the cinema of Andrei Tarkovsky, Ingmar Bergman and Krzysztof Kieślowski, the video for Ultrafiche of You is a metaphysical journey through the seasons of life. From the feeling of expectation and lightness of Spring to the tender sweetness interposed with the emotional storms of Summer, from the empty melancholy of Autumn, characterized by the lost of personal relationships and memories, to the desolation and loneliness of Winter. Nonetheless, within this stark and grim atmosphere, there's a sense of hope and warmness. Each life, even the most common one, stays fixed with its mysterious meaning in the infinite album of the world. The Ultrafiches, like the Altar of the Dead by Henry James, give us the strength and fides to figure out that nothing is vain and everything remains. Everything really remains.

Okay, so this is my interpretation. There are a lot of ultrafiches (memories) of other people, and we are shown an ultrafiche of "her." The girl has committed suicide (notice the rope around her neck) and is beginning to transition into the next world. This is an 'ultrafiche' of her, a jumbled recollection of memories in a dream-like state. She starts at spring, where everything seems alright, and then in the summer she sees her lover, or it may be imagined since she seems to be 'daydreaming' in her daydream. Its sunny and she's smiling, and she opens her eyes (or her eyes are opened by someone, her reality, maybe), and its murky and wet and everything seems to be damaged by the rain. She looks at her hand and cries, maybe because she lost her lover, or maybe because she never got to meet him (since we are never shown his face, just the feelings and the touch) and she regrets it. Most of the pictures and memories seem to be submerged underwater, like they meant something but not much. Then the leaves have fallen and autumn arrives, and she seems to be saying a prayer on top of the water, like she's trying to remember what else she left behind. It's time for her to leave, so she walks in cold winter, struggling to breathe, signifying the end of her lifeline. She sees a black dog that almost looks like a Reaper's hound, and without fear or sadness she accepts it. She then falls on the snow, frozen solid, and smiles, hoping that the next world does not bring her so much pain.
At least, that's what I arrived at.

Before I looked at the video description, I definitely thought of Tarkovsky's films Solaris and Stalker. Lovely video.

Cyanide Sisters, Fairlight and Galactic Melt were getting airplay back to back with Neon Indian, Toro y Moi and Washed Out on college radio across the US back in 2010-2012. CT's brand takes the vintage synth sound (though entirely without hardware), mixes it with some big beat influence, and moves away from lyrics to land outside of both genres, but almost squarely between them.
