I did a test ride last week…I liked it. I rode it for around 1 and a half hour, 80 km. Had around 12 km left on range. It was around 0 degrees outside so a 30% drop in range in cold temperatures. I did experience some comfort issues after a while. I guess from not having my feet straight under my bum, but more to the front. I experimented with putting my feet on the pillion pegs and I must say that was a lot better, but probably looked kinda silly. The backrest on the installed seat was too far to the front for me, I’m 6”2. Maybe one of the other seats would be better. Highway riding was better than expected. With a bigger windscreen (Wunderlich) and a better seat I’m still tempted with this one for my next commuter bike. Thanks for the update. Take care.
Comfort is definitely an issue, which is why I got the cushion for mine. And a taller screen will help with highway riding. Great commuter bike and chargers in about 2 hours. A little pricey but not much we can do about that right now. Our choices are pretty limited.
That bike, man, is a piece of art, modern but art the same! The design is fantastic. The torque…something else!! I was stunned by it. Never had a bike that bends on twisted roads like this, always planted, all the way. So stealth, so nimble and agile. I had it for two days and I really loved it, tons! It was a big pleasure. The pity is that we can’t tour with it. Is not practical in that sense. And that lack of autonomy, that for an electric vehicle is excellent, doesn’t compare with the freedom that a regular bike offers . It is the only disappointment. The bike is fast and beautiful and let me say. I appreciate the silence at the same time that I see everyone by my side mirror far behind at the stop lights, again and again. I’m sorry but it is amusing to me😅😂 Morals of the story:- it’s a great bike, but for what I need a bike, she can’t be the only one in my garage ✌️✌️
Its a perfect city bike. Not really designed for touring. I think it could do more miles if they put in a 2nd battery, but as it is now, its perfect for daily commuting. I only commute 20km a day so I get a whole week out of her, then on the weekend I charge back up with solar panels. Completely free.
I think the reliability problems come from BMW's combustion engines. This being electric means its already far more efficient and has fewer moving parts. If you did get one, you would be an early adopter, but this bike has a 3 year full warranty. Thats one other reason I felt better about getting this bike over any other. Storage can be expanded with a rear box, and they also have a taller wind screen you can get as an option.
Hi, curious why you aren’t using the built-in phone holder and projecting your navigation info on the main dash screen? Is it a compatibility issue with the software you like to use, or a region issue? Thanks for sharing your experiences with the scooter!
The phone holder is a nice feature but you cant see your phone when its in there. And I use bluetooth headphones for music and google maps for navigation. In Japan the bikes navigation system doesn't work currently. It might in the future. And the music player also doesn't work with streaming services like itunes. If BMW can update the bikes software to be easily compatible with streaming services, then I could get some use out of it. As it is right now, I cant use any of the bikes services. No maps, no music.

@@electrifyjapan5554 smart move with recharge of the battery 👍🏻
This scooter is very interesting, but being a BMW I'm scared of poor reliability issues. Also it has almost no storage and minimal wind protection.

There also is a compartment under the seat (lateral access), where a full-face-helmet (standard size) fits in.
