- In this video we will demonstrate two different methods for installing the Double-Cap Rivets that are available from Sailrite. These rivets are easy to install and work well for a variety of canvas and leather applications. The first method will result in a flattened head while the second will give you a more rounded, domed shape.

I’m working on producing a tool with a rounded outward lip above a concave dome. No more cutting the fabric, and caps stay domed and pretty.

Thanks for this vid. Great help
💀💀
If you add washers on both sides you can use more force and it holds better.
You should buff and polish the circumference of the domed rivet cap setter to smooth out the edge.
Yes, I would agree. However, I wanted to show the tool as it is from the manufacture. But you are probably totally correct, that would solve the issue of the setting cutting the fabric.
What about a mixing technique? round on the bottom and flat with the hammer on the top?
The sound of the hammer blows changes from a hollow ring to a dead blow. After checking a few rivets, that could be your guide.
Does it matter what the weight or the size of the hammer?
Not really, I wouldn't want to use anything extreme in either direction. If you are concerned testing it in some scrap fabric would be a good idea.
Who can order it one
Just sand the cutter edge down a touch , the dome will still be enough
You are correct!
