- In the most recent Halo MCC Update, the Halo 3 ODST mod tools got a lot of new maps that are cut Halo 3 DLC maps that never made it through development. Let's see what they are!

Fun fact the map Anxiety is actually originally a Halo Custom Edition map made by someone named Mr Double Fire who worked with Bungie to port the map into Halo 3 :3
Though they never completed it XP
No wonder it was so huge. It reminded me of maps such as Infinity and Danger Canyon. Which were also very huge.
I thought it gave me Custom Edition vibes.
@@presidentraiden9203 The RPG maps as well, one of which had the entire model for assault on the control room deep underground. I used to love the detail on all of those RPG maps, and every little thing you could do in them.
maybe Mr. Double Fire got too nervous working with Bungie and had to give up heh
The reason why it is included into halo 3 odst is because thats where the mythic map pack comes from

I'm not sure if it's just because there's no skybox, but the bright lights on damn contrasting against the dark sky looks super cool.
No skybox? Pretty sure I can see stars.
newer games had no contrast, in halo 4/5 I couldnt even see what I was aiming at, just my average halo 3 nerd opinion lol

First map kinda reminds me of Halo CE Gephyrophobia, but with the ground being playable. It's probably not even as big as Gephyrophobia either but definitely more play space.

@@BazookaTooth707 I know but it would be cool if a group of modders or 343 themselves would polish up these maps up for matchmaking. If not, at least to be accessible in custom games and forge without needing to download a mod from the workshop.
Maybe not matchmaking, especially if playability was the reason they were scrapped, but definitely for custom games.

Landslide reminds me A LOT more of timberland than valhalla.
Also, next time you do a map tour, maybe take into consideration making the camera motions less frantic. It's a little nauseating but also you don't get to really see much in detail when you only get a second to go over a part.
It'd be nice to get some slow overhead pans of the map from above. Maybe some slow moving shots of some hallways.
I recommend Kashiiera's video for a better paced walk around the maps
Really hope some talented people in the community finish these maps up. Id love to see the days where they get approval by 343 and put into retail as new additions. The rest of the Halo Online maps forsure can be finished up by the community but id love to see some of these as well.
Guaranteed it will happen. Giving Halo fans more power over modding tools will be the saving grace (if there is to be one) of the Halo franchise.

Custom games are a thing. Some trash maps can be decent with the right tools and custom game settings.
I assume the Desecration map would have been on flood infected High Chairity, noting that parts of the map have the High Chairity art design and that Bungie used dirt as placeholder texture/mesh.
I knew it! It gave me cut campaign map vibes. Fingers crossed they tell us more about it, IDK why they haven't given us old plot drafts.

I agree with "Anxiety" being too big for BTB. Maybe that's the reason it was cut.
Still would be a lot of fun to play on MCC - maybe if 343 add the ability to have larger player counts

These maps look so amazing! Just polish things here and there and they could be added into the game in a big update like with what happened with the Halo Online maps or Firefight Custom Browser.

I really want to see the tempest map come to Halo 3. I really like the map layout, but really dislike how Reach plays. Plus, ever since Zanzibar/Last Resort, I've always had a thing for tropical set maps.

Bruh the Machinima potential from the Damn map is insane, I 10000% believe that would've been in the RVB series if it was released. Damn, missed opportunity.
Landslide reminds me of something from Halo Wars for some reason.
I’m actually so sad Damn didn’t make it to the full game. It looks just like a classic FPS map! I could easily see that being an instant Halo multiplayer classic!
You know, I had originally thought Bungie had just ran out of ideas because the Halo 3 Mythic maps are sooooo boring and overall so shitty.
Guess I was wrong, just turns out they cut all of the interesting maps! Why would they cut a remake of Battle Creek, a cool beach map, a Flood infected High Charity map and some massive BTB maps for freaking Orbital or Longshore?
They were already developing Reach and Destiny 1 lol

Desecration in particular had to have been someone's baby and I bet they were gutted when it was cut.
I think the only way these maps would ever be included into the game by official means is if a modding team finished the maps, and then gave 343 the maps instead of releasing them as mods. I could even see new map skulls being introduced for some additional achievements that might bring some people back just for the achievements alone.

Anxiety is actually a really old CE map from 2005. This looks like a straight port of it.

Why cut maps and campaign levels if bungie was on its way out departing from Microsoft? Of halo 3 was technically the last game why not include ALL cut content. Not just include cut content but I would include all halo 1&2 maps in halo 3

Aw man, so many of these look fantastic. Especially it's nice to see some interesting BTB maps after seeing very mediocre maps with Halo Infinite and Halo 5.

its cool that mcc is getting all this stuff, I just wish it wasn't by 343. They can't even make a proper game. This is all of bungies old stuff. Why don't they focus on making a proper Halo game for once. I am not talking about MP either. I want another epic campaign again.
