My work car is a 19 Fusion SE Hybrid. I put like 50k per year on it running between Jacksonville and Tampa and I kinda love it. It’s a boring appliance but it’s quiet, comfy, has radar cruise, and gets like 42mpg average. It’s the ultimate commuter car.
Master key code is on a sticker on the fuse box under the driver side dash. Takes body contorting and a camera or mirrors but it’s there and it will work to get the doors to work.
Seeing uploads from you always brightens the day, JR. But please don't overwork yourself, especially if your back is injured. Take time to rest and heal. I hope you get better soon!
Some of those hybrid systems use the pancake assist motor as a starter motor for the ICE engine, in that case you'd need the hybrid pack to make it turn over since the 12v is just used to keep the CANbus active. Pretty interesting tech, those pancake motors act as an assist, regen, and starter all in one.
I owned a 2013 Energi SE a couple of years back. As you said, it was a great car to drive around. I averaged 38 MPG during my commute. The reason that I got rid of it was a family of mice made a summer home on top of the main engine harness and snacked the soy coated insulation. Insurance coved the repair, but the last thing that I wanted was PHEV with a potential wiring issue. I'd get one again.
I was a owner of two Ford Fusion cars, first one was a 2013 SE 1.6L model had it for 5 years 240,000 Miles then the transmission went out, I sold it and got another one 2019 Titanium 2.0L and loved it more power and fully loaded with everything. Right now, I have 171,000 Miles on it, and it is still like new change the Oil every 6,000 Miles and the transmission Fluid every 47,000 Miles. The car is still like new and runs great. Both of my Fusions were White and Tan interior.
I feel for you as I have crushed a vertebrae and had it fused and that was in 93 and I am having problems again at 59. All of the previous said I had a hard life military and later going back to Security in Section 8 and hospital led to even more issues. I hope you don’t have any of the issues that I have experienced, praying for you.
We owned a 2017 Fusion Hybrid Titanium (not the Energi). We absolutely loved that car. FYI, it doesn't have a conventional starter in it... It uses the transmission internal generator to spin the input shaft, which then turns the flywheel through the damper to start the engine.
In 2017 the top trim was the platinum. Only offered for 2 years from 17 to 19. Think the biggest difference was the sunroof and leather trimmed interior. And yes, I love mine. Only reason I know these things!
Has this channel become "JR Scrap The Caddy" starring Philo Beddoe? Tune in next week to see if JR's hair goes orange and Eric gets into unregulated fistfights for cash!
Maybe I missed something, but how does a company agree to sell you a car then proceed to sell parts off of the car to other people and then refuse to lower the price?
I have a 2017 titanium hybrid fusion, not the larger battery energy, but it was nothing near $50k new. Sticker it was $31k. Still driving it, 100k miles now, but looks and runs great. Took it cross country from NY to CA doing Route 66. Did great except for the mountains in CO - it struggled a bit, but comfortable car. And mine has the moonroof.
I have an inversion table, 15 minutes a day for a few weeks and i'm so much better. I get lazy and stop and eventually the pain comes back months later but it's a game changer for my sciatica. Reading your phone upside down though ...
Thanks for the Fusion content!... 2017 Titanium EcoBoost owner here. Very underrated car - great cruiser, fast enough, good on gas, comfy and stylish. Dunno why Ford stopped making them, they're really good. I'd like to get a '20 MKZ next if I can find one...
Also a '17 Ecoboost Fusion owner. It's been a good car and a competent road tripper. It's the SE Luxury package - "Titanium Lite" - doesn't have Sony audio, cooled seats (heated, yes) and the pattern in the seat leather is different. From the outside the only difference is the SE badge instead of Titanium.
The only sedan they will continue to make is the Mustang, everything else is going to be a crossover SUV, SUV or truck in their lineup. They are getting out of the car making business, not enough profit vs SUV/Truck's. Really too bad because some people like a good cruising sedan for highway and better handling on the city streets. Guess Kia, Hyundai and Honda etc will fill that gap. I believe GM and Chrysler are also moving in that direction.
Salvaging cars is nowhere as interesting as fixing a car. It might be more profitable, but I was hoping for house updates “the major concrete work you were going to have done to the foundation or quick mini-resort update. But I am just one guy and I don’t even have a channel
Ford's higher trim level cars were pretty loaded with features. I bought a 2013 Ford C-Max SEL last year. I didn't expect it to even offer all the features it does for a 2013 Ford. I still love the Fusion look. I test drove a 2013 Fusion Hybrid but ultimately decided on the C-Max for what I needed it for at the time, though if I do get a replacement car in the next couple of years I will probably go with a Fusion. I wish we got the Fusion wagons in the US though.
I have a 2017 Lincoln MKZ hybrid and its been the best car i've ever owned. It's one of roughly 5000 made for that model year, not many of them around.
Gotta make money for the new projects. That's what he is doing. I started watching because he was taking cheap cars and flipping them while he was still a IT tech.
Had a fusion hybrid rental car. It felt to me like the whole hybrid system is an after thought partly because there was a noise whenever the car was doing highway speeds on electric mode, but mostly because that battery occupied most of the trunk space. And somewhat because every time I shut it off it thanked me for driving a hybrid. I did get over 50MPG on it though.
I just had 2 disc's replaced in my back this week. I know the pain well. Still dealing with for now hopefully. I suggest you get it fixed before it gets worse.
I had a 2020 Ford Fusion SE as a company car. I had to get rid of it after a year. If I drove it more than 20 minutes my right leg would lock up and be in pain for days. 20 minutes in Atlanta traffic doesn’t get you very far. Perhaps if it was a higher trim the seats would have been better. Even if it just had adaptive cruise I think I could have done it. The constant on/off gas and brake is what did it I think. Felt weird to complain about a “free” car, but it wasn’t worth being in pain all the time.
The 6x9's are used as subwoofers.I used to have a 2017 with the Technology package. It came with power everything and a 10 speaker stereo system. It was a nice car until I traded it in for an F150.
Look in the owners manual on the glove box, there might be the code for the door key pad. if so when you use the code you hit at 34 to open other doors, 56 to open the trunk and when you want to lock the car you hit 78. That is how they worked back in the early 2000's.
Even without the hybrid battery this is going to be interesting. When I was last in the market for a car (spring 2016) I rejected an electric car quickly (nowhere to plug it in at home was a non-negotiable non-starter) but looked closely at hybrids, including Ford and Toyota. With most of my driving on the highway I concluded a hybrid wouldn't have that much of an advantage and bought a VW Golf. If I was to buy a car now I might decide differently.

Why is the depreciation of cars in the US so insane? A 2017 car would not be considered old here in Europe. My youngest car is 2012 and has 30.000 miles only...

The loaded MKZ and titanium Fusion is where it's at. Great cars that Ford killed off. Since I don't want a new truck or SUV, nor a 2 door Mustang, I'm pretty much done with Ford.
@@stevenreynolds2327 it’s a shame he was just breaking even on the fix em flip cars. They were fun. Yeah, the neighbors probably think something shady is going on at JR's place.lol
My Hybrid Escape starts from the hybrid battery not the regular car battery because the starter is inside the trans evidently uses the electric motor as a starter because where the starter would go on a regular car there is none
Yo get yourself a KM100 key programmer and buy a cheap OEM key so you can make your own keys. It’s pretty cheap setup and online OEM keys are cheap. Thanks for video and congrats on the parts car.
Whatever happened to the black Mustang ragtop you were working on earlier in the year and did Ford ever fix you r girlfriends Focus with the trans problem under warranty?

Was a bit disappointed that you aren't going to fix it up. Obviously missing the hybrid battery makes that a bit less economically viable. Over here in the UK the sync 3 system can sell for up to £600. Btw I'm a 2016 fully loaded Mondeo Power shift (wet clutch) driver who needs to fix a sticky rear caliper! The loaded MKZ and titanium Fusion is where it's at. Great cars that Ford killed off. Since I don't want a new truck or SUV, nor a 2 door Mustang, I'm pretty much done with Ford.
Watch JR part out cars?
I'll pass.
What happened to flipping running cars worth something? Now you’re in the salvage business?
I was just giving them away… I’d bury all the time and money in them and then sell it for exactly what I had in it (and the cars weren’t cool) 🍻
He's trying to become John Ross hoover.
Neighbors gonna think hes running a chop shop
@@stevenreynolds2327 it’s a shame he was just breaking even on the fix em flip cars. They were fun. Yeah, the neighbors probably think something shady is going on at JR's place.lol
@@patrickpower6096 He’s graduated from ħoopties to basket cases. 😂
So are you in the scrap business now?
Close to 1st? Missed you JR. Get well soon.
I believe the twin turbo Fusion Sport Titanium was the most expensive.
Good Evening John Ross
What's up with the Cobra my guy? Been waiting on an update vid for a minute already
My Hybrid Escape starts from the hybrid battery not the regular car battery because the starter is inside the trans evidently uses the electric motor as a starter because where the starter would go on a regular car there is none
Your channel was built on repairing cars bro dont mess it up
Yo get yourself a KM100 key programmer and buy a cheap OEM key so you can make your own keys. It’s pretty cheap setup and online OEM keys are cheap.
Thanks for video and congrats on the parts car.
Whatever happened to the black Mustang ragtop you were working on earlier in the year and did Ford ever fix you r girlfriends Focus with the trans problem under warranty?
You need a Ring Dinger from a Texas Chiropractor. Turn that belly into jelly!
So he was offering it for $1,000 with the battery. He sells the battery and only comes down $100? The math doesn't add up.
Solid content and excellent plan to parts strip vehicles.
Can you put this car back on the road
friend of mine has no clue about cars - his parents picked up a new car and i asked him on the phone what it was. He just paused for a minute and said 'titanium' kinda confused. from that day i only refer to his parents Escape as the Titanium and always point out the lesser models when we are out on the town 😂 'se... not as fancy as barb and dave'. Titanium.. gut damn
I love my 17 fusion. Those sync 3 modules are a dime a dozen on ebay. Im still holding onto one.
RIP The (non-chinese) Mondeo 1992 - 2022. Great cars.
Broke your back... _again?_ That sounds like the universe telling you that you needed a vacation. Well at least you got a wagonload of parts.
You guys have turned into the Samford and Sons of UA-cam. JR and Eric
