Happy 65th Birthday Dave Wakeling. 19 February 1956 Birmingham, England. I always loved that Two Tone / Reggae playing style you have. Smokey Robinson born on the same day. 1940. Happy 81st Smokey..
Note Andy Cox the guitarist and David Steele, the bass player both in green shirts, they would later hook up with singer Roland Gift and emerge as the Fine Young Cannibals. Steele's wobbly way of dancing for which he became known with the FYC as already there.
RIP Rankin Roger... we all love and miss you ❤️ thank you for all of the amazing music ❤️❤️❤️

I attended this show and the English Beat was a highlight. Their set was SO MUCH FUN!
Great version of this song. It was so damn hot at this concert. It was a case of survival. That’s how festivals were back then.
SCORCHING
Wow, they're playing faster than they did at the first US Fest
Very good 👍

Yes, and Dave Wakeling and Ranking Roger moved on to form General Public, and being their two lead singers still with a recognizable Beat sound.
