Excellent! It worked like a charm on my 2000 Mazda (Ford Ranger) truck steering wheel after just 4 or 5 round robins of top-bottom-left-right pulling. Don't go back and forth -- just pull hard forward and patiently work the wheel off.
I had seen this technique done once before 25 years ago, but wasn't sure if I trusted it on newer stuff. Watching your video renewed my confidence. It worked great on my 1999 Ford F-150 with a wheel that had been in place for 18 years. I backed off the T-50 bolt several turns and then rocked the wheel about 8 times while pulling out and then CLUNK. (it seemed safer to leave the bolt in) I didn't need to buy a puller nor figure out a place to store it for an eternity. Thanks for a useful, quick, no-nonsense video.
Worked great on my '87 f150. The old worn out keylock cylinder used to keep the starter running even after the truck was started. Thanks to your video, I had the steering wheel off and put the new keylock cylinder in, in just a few minutes. Thanks!
Worked on my 99 Mustang GT. I stripped the threads that the puller would have gone into and thought I was in deep trouble since I have no tap. Thanks for posting this - you rock!
Thank you thank you thank you I bought and tried several tools non was the right one. I had tried this method before with no success. seen you doing it and tried again it came out.
the tool stripped the two bolts for the pulley.. I was like effin this sucks.. watched video.. had my son the US MARINE.. try it.. walks back in the house.. who wants a steering wheel.. worked like a charm.. LOL
Fuck yeah! I took it off in like 5 seconds. I originally broke a bolt off the rental tool and tried to drill it out, retap and the whole 9 yards but was unsuccessful. I saw your video and BAM! It was off and I laughed so hard that all this time I was struggling. Thanks a lot!
didn't work for me :( have a 89 f250 crew cab and I'm putting a older steering wheel on it, it won't budge with this method. should i wd40/ pb blaster it?
Worked on my 2022 Bugatti Chiron SS, thanks!
I have a puller and it was bending the aluminum instead of removing the wheel. I jokingly did this method and it actually worked, thank you

My Man! Worked like a charm. Thanks! Great how simple things make you happy.
If you leave the nut on a few threads you can avoid punching yourself in the face.
