K, I missed 3, but they were never mentioned in the show, I was amazed at how many questions I knew, even though they were never mentioned in the show, like the Skippers Restaurant., I haven't seen Gilligan's Island since I was a kid, and I rarely watched it in syndication, which means I remember these facts from back when I was 8 yrs old or earlier! Of course I am like most of the other male fans and always will be, in love with Mary Ann! Thanx for the trip down memory lane!
The damage to the S. S. Minnow was more than just a two-foot hole in the boat. Gilligan turned the whole boat into dust. In an early episode Mary Ann was making pancakes and Gilligan found tree sap for syrup that tasted sweet, but it turned out to make a better glue. So, the Skipper and the Professor coated the boat with it, but when it dried boards sprang off and crumbled. Gilligan only managed to save the steering wheel.
I concur with you. I kept thinking "what's going on with this video, the way it jumps from one thing to another, the way certain trivia facts are left out, the way the narration seems distorted, etc." I mean, what's up with that?
I never knew that Mary Ann was based on Dorothy from "The Wizard Of Oz," but I once heard or read that Gilligan and the Skipper were based on Laurel And Hardy, particularly in a running gag throughout the series where the Skipper would become so angry and frustrated with Gilligan's constant bungling and stupidity, that he'd hit Gilligan on the head with his captain's hat. Similarly, in the Laurel And Hardy films, Oliver Hardy would often wack Stan Laurel on the head with his derby hat whenever one of Stan's blunders would infuriate him. The actor who played the Skipper, Alan Hale, Jr., also occasionally acted in the movies. I remember seeing him in the Western film, "Hang 'Em High" (1968), as one of the men who tries to lynch Clint Eastwood. Hale's father, Alan Hale, Sr., was a movie actor too, not a star, but mainly a supporting or character actor. Among other things, he played Little John in three films about Robin Hood; the silent film "Robin Hood" (1922), with Douglas Fairbanks (who, like Hale, also had a son, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr, who also became an actor), "The Adventures Of Robin Hood" (1938), with Errol Flynn, and "Rogues Of Sherwood Forest" (1950), with John Derek (Bo Derek's husband).
But if Ginger was stranded on a deserted island for years, not knowing if you will ever get rescued. She and Marry Ann would find Gilligan and the professor would start looking pretty good. 😝.
Many years ago back in 1979 I interviewed at the Opryland hotel in Nashville as part of my interview process they sent me on a tour of the town in one of those vans that goes around and shows you the heart with stars homes. We were driving around and I knew very little about country music all of a sudden they said and that’s where Don Wells lives I said wow Don Wells and everybody on the van looked at me and said who is that I said wow
@@michaelpalmieri7335 I greatly apologize I would never do that on purpose I am blind and I use voice to text on my Siri so it may sound right to me but it does not printed out correctly on the text and I cannot see the text but I appreciate you pointing that out I will try to be more careful in the future
I think the picking of Dawn Wells and the other character's such as Ginger , Gilligan the Howell's etc worked , the other choices such as Jerry Van Dyke would not have worked, The line up of actors was perfect for the show.
@@FactsVerse There are just too many to mention. I just remember that the first time I saw Gilligans Island and Mary Anne, I was in love with her. It must’ve been eight or nine years old at the time.
Hey there Facts Verse. When I was a kid this was my most favorite show to watch. Also, I don’t know if it was the video or my phone, but there were glitches in the video and some of the numbers were completely skipped. Thank you for another great video otherwise and I hope you and your subscribers have a wonderful day 🌟
Judy Unterberger I’m glad I wasn’t the only one. I read the comments before I posted and no one else said anything about it. Thank you for your reply and I hope you have a wonderful day 🌞
At the start of the video it showed Gilligan with ginger and they had grapes. Now where they get those from? Also where did they get all the stuff to decorate their rooms?
This show was on early in my teenage years, but I loved “Mary Ann” before and to this date. She was perfect. I am sorry I did not know about the fund me site or I would have sent significant money to my first love.
Marry Ann is so adorable and beautiful and breathtaking ever.. would love to meet her before she pass away.. it’s on my bucket list.. -Retro ( Scott Fox )

I was Gilligan's Island before it's okay but I like these company a little bit better I do not want to offend anybody I'm just keeping my honest opinion
Past with 16 and there were some things I just guessed at because I didn't know about so you know I don't know if it counts really you know the thing of do what they did afterwards was expecting more real Gilligan's questions.
Tiba Louis was/is beautiful but I never cared for the Marilyn Monroe or Jayne Mansfield 50s sex symbols, especially the low whisper voice. Dawn Wells had gorgeous eyes and a great smile. I also agree with the girl-next-door references.
IMO I believe she looks older trying to keep the Ginger appearance long after she become too mature to be doing it. Im a woman & know getting older is NOT easy, but you accomplish the complete opposite with trying to reflect the frozen in time age of 20 when in reality your 75. NO hate intended, just my opinion is all.💜

Alright, we gotta know! Mary Ann or Ginger?
Mary Ann was always my favorite. Ginger was beautiful too, but Mary Ann was realistic whereas Ginger would've been too high maintenance...

I'd love to see this in its entirety. Not sure why there were so many cuts in it, but hopefully there's a "full" version out there somewhere.

You're welcome, Keith.
To my understanding Tina Louise claimed that Gilligan's Island ruined her career no-one forced her to do it, she was good in the Stepford Wives.
I felt I could relate to Mary Ann because she was more like myself.
Mary Ann

Actually, Alan Hale was on The Andy Griffith Show and on there he called Barney "little buddy" so that's where it came from
Love this show.
Although Ginger wore very tight dresses, Maryann showed more skin.
Raquel Welch would’ve made a better Ginger. She was Beautiful with a Capital B! And was still Beautiful in her 60s! The same with Sophia Loren.

From the prop department
Why did so many segments get cut off? It ended up skipping so much information. Sad. 😞 😔 😢
Mary Ann. Thinking back I guess I have tried to duplicate her in a marriage. Yep, I’m still in Love with Mary Ann. Dawn Wells Forever 😆

Gillian got his name from Shultz going through a phone book and closing his eyes and pointing to a name. So there was actually someone named Gilligan.
