Might sound like a stretch, but this is probably my favorite moment in 2019 season. Everyone was cutting Pierre slack, myself included. Seeing him finally getting podium after demotion from Red Bull in a drag race with Lewis Hamilton...felt extremely satisfying.
Not a stretch at all dude. Getting demoted and having one of his friends and colleagues pass away, and then taking his car to what should be an impossible finish? What an incredible release of so many emotions. I get a little chill every single time I think about this

You can't perform at a second driver for redbull, they siply doesnt care about you and will not even try to make a car that fits you.
@@tm.8399 as shown by Albon this year. The car suits an aggressive style like Verstappen's, and Albon's style is extremely smooth, so he's doing poor over one lap pace. Luckily, smooth is good for race pace, so he's delivering solid points unless there is a certain British driver present who magically looses all spacial awareness when around Albon.
Easily my favorite moment of the year. Possibly ever in F1. Gotta love a bittersweet comeback story

He even said that after he went back to Toro Rosso, he realized how much of a team sport F1 is, as Red Bull were probably partially biased towards Max and that I wouldn't be surprised about.

@@Dolek135 Red Bull always had a toxic atmosphere, Webber and Vettel, Vettel and Ricciardo, Ricciardo and Verstappen, it just never works out well there, the pressure is just way too high. I hope this season was a wakeup for them.
At RedBull Gasly had to race with Max his set-up. It was explained by the dutch sportschannels that it was because Gasly had no technical knowledge. But i lack good information since those stations are all heavily supporting Verstappen.

Do not take this win away from him. (2nd place I know). But he drove the car with laser precision. He earned this! He fucking earned this!
He did but that is what is unique and incredible about F1. You just have to push and push and always be ready to collect on someone else's mistake, even if it rarely happens. Inspirational shit that keeps me pushing in my day to day life. Be there and be at your best every day so you are ready to capitalize when the situation arises.
I'm with you on that. Gasly pushed for his first podium and got it. It's rare nowadays that the lower tiered teams would get the podium.

@@JimmyKerrigan It's the altitude. And also the engine was much fresher. Merc did not take any penalties this season. Toro rosso and red bull quite a few. on every track except brazil and mexico lewis would win that drag race. Also that wing damage didn't help him with drag.

Lol, Kvyat had to fight a freaking Sebastian Vettel going full speed without any "damaged front wing" :V. Not to underrate what Gasly did (It was one of the Most Exciting moments of the year, I don't even care about the front wing XD).
But please don't compare them. Both have podiums now, both are in the history of the only ones who managed to finish on Podium with a Toro, although that could become a not so rare thing on the next years ; ).
I lost my mind in both occasions, but this one was far superior with the wheel to wheel Epic Drag Race win!!!...

Sorry for being a party pooper, but did you know all Honda's wins this season except Hockenheim are only from Mexico and Brazil? Two tracks that were situated in high altitude....
Mercedes' engine are not designed to to be fast at thin air since they have larger turbo compressor....
Please remember last year at the same GPs when Red Bull are incredibly fast (well until Ocon clapped Max, that is).
Don't get me wrong, I'm still happy Honda getting double podium results, it's just thinking that Honda will be a title contender at this rate based on two wins at two tracks that basically share the same traits is just asking too much....
As a Mercedes fan and budding aero enthusiast, the form of the damage on the front wing would have effectively lowered the downforce thus acting as a very small DRS. The most disturbances would be the unfavorable separation around the tyres. I think...agree? Hamilton mentioned that his steering wheel felt like it was biased towards the right, meaning, the untouched part of the front wing provided proper downforce that made the suspension unbalanced which translated through the steering column.

But then again you already seen what happened at Mexico, right? When Verstappen has tire puncture and ended 30+ seconds behind Grosjean in 19th place after pitting yet he still bag 6th place finish. That showed you already how Honda is superior compared to Mercedes and Ferrari in high altitude tracks.....

Gasly is my favorite F1 driver I waited almost 2 years to see him get that 1st podium! (Yes, I know Sainz fans you waited a lot longer to see him), but yeah I was so excited to see him get P2! Great job PG10! Your fans knew you could always do it! I'll be cheering for you just as loud when I watch the Abu Dahbi GP on TV and I can't wait to see you back with the team in 2020!

So, so happy for Gasly man, i felt it when he gave that gut wrenching cheer on the radio, after everything he’s been through, after all the doubts levelled his way, he answered them in a big way. And so happy and sad for Sainz after his podium too even if the stewards take hours to make s decision apparently, which needs to change
